This is precisely what I love to hear!! I honestly try to share with my brides that the smaller resorts are honestly the hotels that offer the best service and the most special moments. I personally prefer working with smaller hotels, their attention to detail is spot on and something that can lack in the larger mega resorts. Happy Planning!!

On the contrary Maredith. You are literally STEPS to the 5th Avenue and from there you have TONS to do. Plus right outside the resort you have snorkeling, ferry to Cozumel, world class shopping, tours to go practically anywhere! Plus, the beach in front of the Playacar Palace has to be one of, if not THE nicest beach in Playa. It is my personally favorite for my days at the beach. I think it is the best of both worlds, you have the All Inclusive Resort yet you are RIGHT in the heart of Playa del Carmen.

Definitely some great ideas! It is true that most packages in the hotel will be aimed towards 10-30 people. So if you are planning to go over this amount there is usually an extra fee per person. But still very manageable and still will save money in the end. Usually off the resort you need to consider atleast $100/person for food/drink. If you ever have any questions let me know and I will be happy to help!

Congratulations! You will find tons of information on here I am sure! If you ever find yourself needing some help I would be more than happy to assist. Happy planning!!

iWeddingMexico replied to AngelaIngram's topic in Newbies!!
Great choice. I think the Reef Coco Beach is a special jewel that not many brides know about but it is one of my personal favs, I actually have 2 weddings there in October. It is a fabulous hotel with fabulous staff and food and overall great attention to detail for the wedding. If you ever need any assistance or advice on something in particular I am always here to help! Planning a wedding can be quite the undertaking and I salute all the brides who take it on in their spare time!- 14 replies

Hi! Definitely I think you should think about a budget and location first, the budget is important because different countries carry different costs and that will affect how far your budget will stretch. Then once you have decided on a location you can think about venues, and the details, where your guests will stay. If you ever need any help or advice I am always available. Also, October is not necessarily a bad month to get married. I think weather wise any date in the Caribbean can bring risk of rain or storm. October actually can be a great month because it is low season, meaning low priced hotels and more available suppliers to choose from! I wish you the best in your planning process!

2015 Bride - Help!
iWeddingMexico replied to samantha22's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
Hi! The only real chapel in Playa del Carmen with an ocean view is the one of 5th Avenue, but it is pretty small so keep that in mind. That being said, there ARE some very romantic and large Chapels in the center of the city that you could consider however would not be ocean view. If you are interested in more info let me know and I will be happy to help! Happy Planning! -
Hi Krystin! Congratulations, believe me, we all suffer during the hot months here in Mexico. But where are you thinking of getting married? Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican? In Riviera Maya there are many sheltered places that you can get married in while still enjoying a view of the water. Just depends on what country you are looking for. Let me know and maybe I can help! Happy Planning!

HI! Yes there will be an officiant. To the guests it will look exactly like a normal ceremony with the vows, exchanging of the rings, signing of paper, but it is just not legal. A civil ceremony you need a judge from the civil registry and symbolic you just have an officiant. Not much difference though. If you ever have any more questions let me know and I will be happy to help!

There are 3 Catholic Churches in Playa del Carmen that I would reccommend. 5th Avenue 15th Ave and 12th Street And...if you are REALLY looking for a big beautiful Catholic Church there is one in the more local area of Playa but gorgeous and BIG! Let me know if you need any assistance and I will be happy to help.

I would check with the hotel but I mean the 2 locations are really only a few blocks away from each other so you are looking at 20 pesos taxi ride, less than 2 bucks. Might be more convenient. But check with the hotel because I am sure they have transfers. I can assist if you would like a transfer but those companies usually have a minimum rate which will be more than just everyone grabbing a taxi.

Don`t worry! In the past 5-6 years here in Playa I only really remember one somewhat hurricane that was then downgraded to a tropical storm and that was in October. August is a great month to get married, it WILL be hot but everything will be just amazing no need to worry. I would not worry about hurricanes at all for the Riviera Maya, the Pacific side seems to get most of the warnings but we are just sitting pretty here in Playa. Nothing to worry about! Happy planning!

Hola! There are quite a few hotels and resorts inside Playa del Carmen that would be great for your wedding. I also think Playacar in general is a very family friendly area of Playa. The Reef chain has 2 hotels in Playa del Carmen that are very cost and family friendly, as well for weddings. I have a few hotels in mind that could be great for you, let me know if you would like a bit more information and I will be more than happy to help. Happy planning!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I think if you are going to have a large wedding sometimes the All Inclusives that are a bit smaller are able to provide more personalized service and often are more open to negotiate with you and look at you as a person not just another wedding out of thousands. Also, in some of the super huge hotels it can be hard to find each other during the day, a small hotel will give you the feeling of almost that your group owns the place so to speak haha. More fun that way. If you`d like to get in touch with me I can provide you some more details. You will definitely need a hotel willing to pay special attention to detail for a group that size. Happy Planning!

Plated Main Dish - How To Choose?
iWeddingMexico replied to marinah84's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Go with both! If your guests are coming from another country I say go with some traditional Mexican! Real Mexican, I`m talking carne asada, guacamole, something really yummy, Mariachi in the background.! That is always the most fun. I love planning weddings like that. The guests really seem to enjoy the mexican traditions. Throw a few sombreros on the table, makes for great photo ops! Let me know if you ned assistance! Happy Planning! -
