  1. My fiance works in the print industry so he found out about this "printable" paper through a conference he attended. I can share the vendor name if anyone is interested. @@Meandhim
  2. Sparklers party 2! So we tried printing them on the gold paper! I really like it! We are probably going to change the wording because you can't really read the smaller font. It's going to add to the gold and sparkle!
  3. I would ask them what they suggest. It depends on the turn around with their work as well. I would suggest 2-3 months before your wedding. Because your dress is a corset it gives you a bit of flexibility. My wedding is in june and my alterations are next week...he he, I'm probably one of the delinquent brides!
  4. @TinkerSofi I know! I was so surprised at how she offered to do that! I am so torn about the welcome bags. The hotel gives every guests a cotton princess bag. So we thought if we do our own tote it's overboard. But then we designed the fun logo anyway in case we just give our guests gift bags and place the sticker of the logo on it. I would consider doing iron on transfer if I could find the tote bags cheap but I haven't been able to find them at all.
  5. Our Wedding Coordinator: We started our planning with Guillermo at the Princess but about two months ago or so he changed jobs. So we have recently started planning with a different planner. Initially the back and forth was really slow. Like, I understand the process required patience but sometimes the emails would come in like 3 weeks later. Recently our communication has been excellent and she's been on top of everything. I'm two months out and I feel very confident in her. I think that given how much time and effort we're putting into this wedding, the wedding coordinator at the hotel is probably one the most important contacts we have. I decided to put together a small gift bag to gift her when we meet at our first planning meeting when we arrive at the hotel. She is apparently a big chocolate fan so we're gonna definitely buy her some Lindt chocolate and I'm thinking the outlet is the place to go!! I've also made her a pretty necklace and i'm going to bring her some bath and body works. I'm trying to avoid "canadian" souvenirs as I find them a bit cheesy. Anyway, I'm thinking a happy wedding coordinator = a happy bride! She's also offered to purchase a pinata for us in playa del carmen if we didn't want to go and get it ourselves. So nice. The FI just designed the logo that we are going to place on our welcome bags! It includes our hashtag but doesn't have our names so it can still be used even after the wedding if they wanted to.
  6. What a beautiful dress and bride!!! It looks like the weather was perfect for your big day! congrats
  7. @@smileitseb Ummmmm, HOW AWESOME!!! It's soooo nice!!!!!!! I'm just realizing, or re-realizing because I did know this, that your wedding is right around the corner!!!!! eeeeeee!!!
  8. @@smileitseb That's so exciting that you are going to do the sparkler first dance! I haven't actually put much thought into the send off. The last destination wedding that I attended was more of a stumble off. We all made plans to go to the hotel disco and that was all I can remember. Our reception will end at 11 and I trust that most will be tipsy tipsy...so I don't know if I will plan anything at that point. I've seen the "send off" used in movies and some weddings where the bride and groom leave the reception and then go off to their honeymoons...but seeing as we would be leaving the reception just to then be with the group still...I don't know if it really applies for me.
  9. I'm going for the gold!!! I took your advice @@TinkerSofi and left it up to him to come up with a decision. He found these gold type hand written stands that were almost $200 and he kept picking things that would require hiring a printer or ordering from Australia so I kept saying like this seems like a lot of work for table numbers. In the end he agreed that he liked the glitter ones, he just doesn't want to be involved in the making of them. That's fine!
  10. Your pictures are so lovely! I'm so happy that you had a wonderful time. Congrats to both of you!
  11. OMg the playlist. Thankfully my FI is a DJ and well versed in music...although that is sometimes our downfall because the music we like isn't necessarily the music that will get people in party mode and a wide range of people (ages) at that. We should share our playlists...that would be fun!!
  12. Hello ladies! I've been pretty busy trying to cross things off my endless to do list. On Tuesday it marked my two months til the wedding !! eeeeeeeeeee!! I'm trying to finalize our table number design and the FI and I have seen eye to eye on basically everything but the table numbers is like the most impossible thing for him to agree with me. I've sent him soo many different options and every single one is like picked apart. It's literally cracking me up. I wanted to do something a little more creative than just having a frame with a number inside...and he's just like saying no to it all. I am trying to include him because lately with everything else I was making decisions on my own...whoops...but this is hilarious and too much. How can he say no to these!!?? haha ...to be continued....
  13. AWww, I'm so sorry to hear about this pre-wedding drama. It's sooo true though, people just don't get it. Like they don't and I don't know if there's anything we can do about it. Our wedding mantra right now is, "our day, their problem" so when someone has an issue and it's outside our scope to handle, and it's basically just an annoying complaint, we will say to ourselves, "our day, their problem'. His friend should have made his own accommodations to find a roommate or tried to get his gf to come. It's a lot of back and forth. I mean, your wedding is in August which is still a lot of time and you may find that some of his friends decide to come last minute, you never know.
  14. If all your guests are accessible via email than it seems like a great way to save money. A lot of the people we have to invite are older and don't have an email address, some have never used the internet so we really had to go the print route. There are some really affordable ways to do invites without breaking the bank. You can go on Etsy.com and search download invites. They basically customize the invite, send you the digital file and the cost is about $20 for most designs. You can print the invites at a print shop which with cardstock and envelops might cost about $50-$100 plus postage. eeek, it all adds up eh. But some people spend even more. You could even hand deliver your invites to save on postage. It's really your call. I would say that if all your guests have access to email then go for it. You save yourself such a headache.
  15. We are so torn about this idea. On one hand it would be so fun and like when do you ever get to hit a pinata, especially at a wedding!! On the other hand, we are hiring a DJ and I also don't want to take too much time away from the dancing or break up the party! ahh
  16. Ohhh, i get it! @@calgarybride2015 it's a hidden gem hotel. It's huge but very affordable yet considered 5 star. The only complaint that i hear about it is that it's a lot of walking but thankfully for me, I'm open to the cardio! hahaha We've been to the hotel twice and they just recently opened an adults only addition to the hotel next door. Exciting!
  17. @@calgarybride2015 Awww thanks for remembering!! I'm excited to hear where she got married in the resort. Is your friend part of the forum?
  18. I love the pink shoes! So pretty! and great job with your welcome brochure!
  19. @ yours look amazing! I ended up with the 5x6 because I ordered them by mistake. they were too big for what I needed them so I ended up not being able to use them for my designs but I was so excited to be able to finally put them to good use! bonus!
  20. Hangover Kits & Cotton Muslin Bags We received our hangover stamp last night! It's so perfect. The size is great and we paired it with a nice red ink. Since I'm a jewelery designer I already had a bunch of cotton muslin bags that I had ordered to package my designs. The bags are 5x6 so they will fit quite a bit and the bags are a cotton mix so they are pretty sturdy as well. I am in love with these bags! We decided to go the stamp route because while our numbers are confirmed for guests coming from Toronto to Cancun, our numbers are still up in the air for our other guests coming from europe etc etc.
  21. Congrats and happy planning!! There is a wealth of information in this forum!

  23. Pinata at the reception? Is anyone considering doing a pinata for the wedding reception? I saw some pictures and it looked like sooo much fun but I'm worried that it might either get overlooked or cut into dance time. I found this gorgeous pic online. I love the bright colours that it brings! It looks like it would be so much fun and we could totally fill it up with things from Costco etc etc. Anyone considering doing one?
