  1. How amazing!! I love your luggage inventory - that sounds about right! I think I will probably have the same! All the best to you and your hubby to be - enjoy the sun, sand and all the love your guests will bring them!
  2. AWww thanks ladies!! @@beckys98 I owe you an email!! i'll email you later today Did you get ahead with the long weekend? I was honestly dreading the reality check of packing but honestly just do it, it feels so great once you do. I definitely agree about finding a proper carry on bag. I still haven't figured that out yet. I'm definitely going to have to put some thought into it. I'm worried about my luggages getting lost. I would be so sad. I'm sure i'm not the first or last bride to think of that and I'm sure things always, usually work out but still... @@calgarybride2015 It's so nice to hear that your friend had a great experience. We are so excited. I thought of you when I packed my tumblers as I remember reading over and over your thread about how to pack them. Did I make this up, or did you include a paper insdie the luggage with the count of all your items and the explanantion of what it is for? @@Wafflesmom I absolutely do not mind at all sharing the Etsy artist. https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/214121144/set-of-12-lip-balms-handmade?ref=shop_home_active_7 We were so happy with them and you can chose some fun flavours or scents I should say. There are a variety of different designs and also custom options. She's so nice to deal with as well. I started my wedding binder! This has also allowed me to feel super organized. All our contracts, vendors agreements, receipts, guests arrivals and departures, photographer contract, everything that is wedding related is in there. I figured it would be help for customs to see that we are in fact getting married. Also keeping all the receipts for the items we are bring down as i've heard it's a must to avoid issues. None of this I would actually know without this amazing forum.
  3. thanks ladies! @@Wafflesmom @ @@TinkerSofi So we heard from our WC and it turns out she won't be there the day of our wedding!! I'm kind of annoyed. We bought her 100 lindt chocolates and everything and put together a little thank you basket. Now we have some other WC and I really hope things go smoothly. I'm sure it will but it is annoying as you kinda feel like you've gotten to know this person a tad through emails. I am putting together my final list of things to do. One of my bridesmaids curated a reception dance party playlist. I should share it so that you ladies have some inspiration. I have been so impressed with the FI as he's suddenly become a graphic designer. We finished our Welcome books, menus, wedding itinerary, thank you letters everything and are getting back from the printers today. Here's a few things he worked on for us. ( we ordered the chapsticks through a vendor on Etsy.)
  4. @@calgarybride2015 I agree! We basically packed all our wedding related things into two luggages. We have 2 luggages left for our personal belongings, clothes etc etc. It feels so great to know that we are all packed up! Yay!
  5. So we are packing!!! Omg! How did all the previous brides do it??!! We've officially packed our first luggage with our cups, first aid kits and a few other things. It weights about 20lbs. To be continued...
  6. aww, I'm getting married in 4 weeks! I'll probably already be married by the time you ladies meet up.
  7. @JenniferH114 Did anyone ever respond to this! I'm looking for an excursion too...but all the ones I'm finding are pricey.
  8. @has31 aww twin dates! Is your wedding june 20th as well?? @vancouverpetunia I just love how you guys met. I really loved reading your story and also how awesome that you guys are doing a destination wedding. We have a lot of stragglers and we've budgeted for 55people at the moment we have 46 confirmed and paid with 5-7 people that are deciding. So at this point, I don't care, good if they come, and if they don't then it's ok too. I've been obsessing the past couple days and realized I can't let it take over my entire days following up and this and that! @becks98 I sent you a pm with my email address! thank you for sharing your pre-departure info
  9. @beckys98 Aww thank you so much. I will PM you my email address. I like what you said, "the guests who have actually read it"...because ultimately we can write 100 pages, if they don't read, it's as helpful as if it we didn't do it. lol
  10. totally feel your pain. I have 5 people that are just waiting to book...not sure what they are waiting for and I have another person who is trying to get time off of work. *love it* lol @beckys98 That sounds like an amazing handout you put together!! Awesome!! We are trying to put one together but I feel like I'm leaving things out. I'm trying to look for examples to get inspired - would you be open to sharing yours just to get some inspiration
  11. We depart for mexico in 26 days! It's insane. We have the majority of our projects completed. We ended up making a little booklet of info with a map, hotel, info, guest info, photographer info, room number cheat sheet, playa del Carmen info, bride and groom recommended day trips, the FI turned it into a 14 page booklet and it's called, "Guide to Fiesta like there is no manana" with our hashtag. #BesosInparadise2015 I'll take some pictures once we are finished printing it, we have our door handle designs, stationary for the wedding reception! It's kinda overwhelming thinking of everything we've done. I'm exhausted. We have a shorter to do list now. One of the most difficult tasks we have is to try to figure out our first dance song. Our song doesn't really match the mood of the wedding so we opted to not use it. I'm not really into the cheesy steriotypical songs so I'm trying to avoid Sam Smith, and the John legends and John Mayers, nothing against them but I just don't want them for my first dance. What do you ladies think about this one?
  12. Just read through your wedding thread a bit. I love that you guys met at a destination wedding!! There are a few single people coming on our trip and we are kinda secretly hoping we can match make them as well! he he I'm sorry to hear about your FI - I hope he's doing much better. That's a great reminder to get some travel insurance. eeek
  13. Omg insane!!!! @@beckys98 We haven't even attempted seating chart. We know people are coming, we just don't know how many in total. And the reason it's random is because we have guests that are coming from mexico, Europe and other parts of latin America, so they didn't book in our group rate because our group rate was only within in Canada. So they book on their own and they are literally taking it very casual despite the deadlines. Wishing you all the best of luck! Good luck with the wild card- hope she is able to make it.
  14. Thank you again for posting this. last night I was chatting a bit with my dad and I asked him if it was a tradition in Spain for the father to walk down the aisle with the bride...(my dad is from spain) So he said yes. So I said ok, we'll do that, I'd like that. I then said that I wished that there was a way to include my sister since the three of us have been so close...so he suggested that what if the three of us walked down the aisle together. I started tearing up because he really surprised me at how open he was. Thanks to you @@ashhtayy for posting about this topic I was able to be a little bit more sensitive when talking to my dad about this topic. Thank you!!
  15. @@snswedding2016 Ya I think she's happy with all the last minute bookings. I'm going to chat with her tomorrow and maybe introduce of cut of date of say, tomorrow! hahaha. We didn't think anyone would book after our deadline came and went. I do have an etsy shop! https://www.etsy.com/ca/people/VeryValero?ref=hdr_user_menu
  16. @TinkerSofi We can actually pay for changes when we arrive. Or that's what we understand. I can't imagine the hotel turning us away from upgrades or changes that result in more money for them. I'm glad you lilke the jewels...I felt the pressure to design something special. Some girls will wear statement necklaces and other girls will wear statement earrings depending on they wear the dress I
  17. @@calgarybride2015 The thing is that they are contacting the travel agent and the travel agent is just letting us know who has been booking. She probably wouldn't stop accepting new reservations as it's good for her business! ha The good news is that our hotel is practically sold out!
  18. One month from today we will be arriving at the hotel and checking in! Crazy! So I thought we had all our guests finalized but as it turns out 4 decided to book today and we are still looking at another 4 pending. ahhhh!! I wonder if this is normal. I tried to get my number for the OOT bags but honestly at this point some of them will be getting a more toned down version of it. I can't keep up. I finished my bridesmaid jewellery and I'm so excited. I'm going for a gold and cream look. So many other updates but I need to get back to the planning before I can report on it!
  19. ughh, wow, you've left in me in tears. Again, I commend you for being honest with yourself. It would be so easy to just focus on the wedding day and ignore the marriage or the after but you are staying true to your heart and good for you. I'm sooo happy you were soo honest. Just from what you wrote I can tell that he loves you. My mom once told me that just because someone doesn't love you the way YOU want them to love you, doesn't mean that they don't love you. (This was probably a direct quote from Oprah I'm sure!) All the best !xoxo
  20. I just wanted to commend you for being brave and opening up about a topic that is so personal and can make you feel very vulnerable. I would say talk things out. Be open to talking. I think we all have moments where we just feel like, Omg, l'm getting married. Not just wearing an engagement ring, but actually getting married. It sounds like you are re-evaluating what you value and maybe finding out that things aren't in line as much as you thought. As another girl said earlier, he could be just retreating because he also feels the stress. when you think about your fiancé, think about him during your entire relationship...all those years count. Evaluate your situation based on the entire picture not just recent feelings of doubt. Stress can do the strangest things to our feelings. I find that sometimes if I dont' open up with people, I tend to get isolated and by talking to people I can usually find my way again. I hope that you can really sit down with him and discuss things. I wish you happiness regardless of what you decide to do.
  21. hmmmmmm, interesting point you raise. I'm in the thick of all the planning and I can see you are too with your wedding being weeks away. I was thinking of having my dad and sister walk me down the aisle. 1. I don't believe in being given away 2. after my mom passed away my dad, my sister and I had to really stick together and heal from the major loss I never even thought about how my dad would feel if he wasn't the only one giving me away. Now I'm a bit nervous. I definitely do not want to hurt him but I thought it would be an equal honour for my sister to walk me down the aisle. I can imagine how you probably feel after seeing your dad's reaction and I thank you for posting this because I didn't even think about how my dad would feel. Have you heard anything from him?
  22. Hi @@vancouverpetunia I did order my BM dresses from Daint Yard! I was initially going to do my dresses from Henkaa.com but learned from a fellow forum friend @ that the dresses were more affordable here. I ordered a dress as a sample and liked. I have 7 bridesmaids and 3 are petite and the rest are busty. The Daint Yard has the option of ordering plus size dresses too. waist size from 37" to 53". I think the dresses looked great. The material is a bit thinner compared to the other option i was looking at but the other option was also $169 compared to this awesome price of $60. They all examined and tried on the sample dress and were happy to go forward with it. If you do go with them, give yourself some time to order them as the dresses are coming from Singapore and take at least 3 weeks to arrive in the mail. Let me know if you have any other questions I'm getting married in a month so you'll see my bm pics soon enough
  23. hahhaha @TinkerSofi leave it to me to cut it too close with EVERYTHING...hahaha
  24. I'm really cutting it close- I hope that it works out for me! I have been waiting for thisssss!!! yay!!!!!!!!!!!! Not even gonna tell the FI...he he.
