  1. H Hello lovely brides! We have been here since sat and everything is perfect! Just met with the wedding coordinator and everything that past brides have said is true- one you meet it all falls into place. Feeling very chill. All our guests arrive tomorrow. All the bags are ready to go! I highly, highly recommend arriving before your guests if it fits in your budget. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Ok! We are in a cab! 6 luggages; 3 carryons; 1 dress bag; 1 suit bag; omg!! So nervous! I'll try to post some pictures in the next few days. The wedding is on sat june 20th! Ahhh I can't believe it's my turn now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hahahaha @@Wafflesmom the flower girl can throw grommets down the aisle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. @@snswedding2016 I know!!!! So random. I should throw them in the welcome bags! Grommets for everyone!!!! lol
  5. @@snswedding2016 thank you!!! I think that's what I meant, resealable. That's perfect, thank you so much for the info! I will definitely check them out tomorrow morning. ahh Does anyone want 1000 grommets? lol
  6. How annoying. I'm sure there are always last minute debacles. I ordered plastic zipper card holders for the hotels keys and they didn't arrive. An order from that vendor arrived, however he sent me 1000 grommets?? Soooooo annoyed. They took forever to arrive and now it's not even the right item. ahhhh anyone have any advice where I could find an alternative in the GTA ?
  7. Ok, so the fiancé is hijacking this idea. haha I guess we could use Whatsapp assuming that there is wifi everywhere but from what I can remember, there wasn't. hmmm..i'm gonna have to sneak off and buy them. hehe
  8. I'm late to the party here, but I just read your vows in Spanish and I totally got emotional. I love the last one...ughh...so awesome.
  9. hahahhahahaha @@deecol you are hilarious. I'm pretty much on the same boat. doing in, and asking for understanding later. lol I'm pretty sure all my random last minute ideas and purchases will be appreciated eventually by the F.I. lol
  10. @@Wafflesmom very true!! I called David's bridal and they have that veil in stock so I will buying it on Friday when I go to pick up my dress! Talk about last minute!!!! I almost forgot to buy one of more important purchases - walkie talkies! A friend of mine who got married in Jmaiaca a few years ago used these with her FI. I remember not really understanding why they needed them at the time...but now I get it. So we will be picking these up. they have a range of 28Km. so I think that's perfect for the hotel. I believe.
  11. One of my bridesmaids gifted me our vows books as our engagement gift and she purchased them on etsy through the same vendor that Perianjay used! The vendor has a lot of cute designs and custom options!
  12. To bird cage or veil, that is the question I'm leaning towards going out to buy the veil and wear it for the ceremony and birdcage it up for the reception. @@calgarybride2015 @ @@TinkerSofi
  13. @@TinkerSofi Thanks! I'm gonna see if I can purchase one for Friday...talk about last minute. and here I thought i was going to be taking a break from online. NOPE. hahaha. I'll post both veils to get some feedback.
  14. Omg, so I thought I was all set to go, but yesterday when I picked up my dress it turns out it wasn't ready. They didn't complete the bustle properly so I have to go back on Friday to pick it up. I'm also having last minute veil second guesses. I was going to go with a birdcage but now I'm thinking full out veil....ahhh.
  15. I will be free as a bird as of July! I can join in !
  16. Hi ladies! I picked up the Groomzillo's wedding band today. I love it!!!! It's so pretty. He's going to be soooo surprised. He has seen the band but not the sapphire. He won't see it until we exchange bands at the wedding! yay!!! @@calgarybride2015 Here is the pic!
  17. I am leaving in 5 days! My brain can't even process it! We are all packed! I pick up my dress tonight for my final fitting- can't wait, very excited! I'm probably going to be offline until after the wedding! It's such a crazy busy time, and full of soooo many emotions. I just started bawling out of nowhere yesterday because I was just full of happiness that I'm getting married to such an amazing person. I feel very lucky these days. The fiance suddenly discovered his graphic design talents just in time to design our guest welcome books! We are so in love with them! Here are a few pics. We even included a picture of Toronto during a snow storm where it was -35c. The picture says, "Too hot for you? Winter is 187 days away so enjoy the heat!" ha ha ..we know people will complain it's too hot but maybe that will give them a little perspective. I was able to organize a small little surprise for the fiance! I have a sapphire engagement ring and the FI thinks his wedding band is a simple gold band but I just had a sapphire added. He won't see it until we exchange bands which will probably surprise him quite a bit. i thought it would be nice for our bands to match a little. Mine is white gold and he wanted his to be 18K yellow gold...but at least we will have the sapphires to tie us together. eeeeeee!!! so excited!
  18. Would I avoid the vendor fee? I am worried that the hotel will see outside bouquets and charge me a vendor fee. But if they see that I am bringing in loose flowers than its not through a "vendor" but through a store and since I put them together it seems like more of a case to defend that I didn't use a vendor.? I arrange flowers on the side so I am actually looking forward to putting them together . let me know what you think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. i plan to straight up try anything to avoid paying $55USD per bridesmaid bouquet. Which is approx $70canadian. I have 7 bridesmaids and this quickly adds up. $500 in flowers, ya no. I have asked the hotel if Walmart and Costco are considered external vendors and they have clarified that they are not. I design bouquets and flower arrangements as a hobby so that part isn't difficult for me, it is the sourcing of these flowers that I'm finding tricky. I'm surprised to hear that someone said that Sam's club doesn't have flowers as I have read from different people that they do. I leave for Mexico June 13th and will be on the hunt and running errands June 15th. I will at that point know if I am making my own arrangments or paying a ridiculous amount. I can't get another florist shop to arrange them because at that point it would be another vendor doing them and I could be charged another $200 or more as a penalty. http://everythingplayadelcarmen.com/buying-flowers-in-playa-del-carmen/ Found this very informative website! I will update when I get back! Definitely going to try these shops/ @@ElenaCavaljiu
  20. Such a smart idea. We were too shy to do this but I have a close friend that has done this and it really worked out for her!
  21. I'm in the same boat. We would have loved to stay a extra week after the wedding... but it was really adding up quickly. We decided to do a private reception which means our wedding costs are $10,000 + We are going for 10 days. 3 days before the rest of the group arrives. It will give us time to meet with the WC, run some errands and put together our welcome bags and of course, RELAX. HAHA. We were lucky enough to have our flight cancelled and so the airline is having us fly 1 day earlier and paying for our extra night stay.
  22. @@calgarybride2015 omg!!! hahhaa So a few updates... in addition to a new wedding coordinator, we have 4 new guests attending. At this point we have decided that all the last minute attendees are not getting welcome bags. lol It's too hard to keep adding items for extra people. We can add people to our reception up until the day before so that's fine and we have the budget for it, the more the merrier but we are not going to keep updating our guest roster and welcome bag numbers. Too stressful. Our flight leaving on June 14th was cancelled. Our travel agent noticed yesterday but the good news is we now get to leave June 13th. Our flight on the Sunday originally got us at the hotel at about 10Pm which was annoying because we basically miss an entire day at the resort but definitely pay for a whole day. So now we are leaving at 6am on Sat and will probably be at the hotel by 11am. I have butterflies in my stomach...and the extra day is complimentary!! yay! The only bad thing is that we had arranged for our legal marriage for the sat and now we need to move it to Friday and we are still waiting to hear if the officiant is ok with that! ahhhh. *keeping calm! @@calgarybride2015 one more question! Did you fly sunwing?
  23. We rented a car and it took about 45 mins to drive... I am trying to find a tour that is not through Sunwing and that can accommodate for our group and maybe let us do a stop at the beaches right beside it. @TammyWright I looked at the tours but they all seem very specific and appear to include other group too.
  24. @ It's basically heaven in the form of a beach! . So both pictures are shots taken from different angles at the ruins in Tulum. There are two levels. When you arrive you explore and learn about the history of the ancient ruins and as you can see you can go down a few stairs and there is a beach to cool off. It is absolutely stunning. I have been twice now and both times I spent hours just hanging out at that beach. The water is crystal clear and the sand is so soft.
  25. Hello lovely ladies, I'm looking into planning a group excursion to Tulum. I know that Sunwing offers some excursion but I am finding that many of them are the Tulum ruins + katamaran or other stops. We simply wanted to spend a half day at the ruins check out the beach and then maybe do a pit stop at the playa paraiso which is a public beach with a view of the ruins. Does anyone have any suggestions?.
