I agree. I have looked into possibly going from Mexico to Europe and it is very expensive. We may just take our honey moon a few months after the wedding...but also switch resorts after the guests leave and unwind a little.

@dockgirl true about the privacy. Our ceremony is at 4pm- I wonder if the beach will be as busy at that time. I keep going back and forth. The advantage too of the sunset gazebo is that we are doing our ceremony at the chillout so it's all there. Can't decide. Does anyone know if when we submit our $200 if we need to also submit the forms for all the wedding details like flowers, and cake etc. I'm not even there yet and I wanted to take my time deciding those details.

@dockgirl I agree...the platinum pool were very shady for the most part and while it was nice for privacy at the GSP, I hope the pools are set up nicer at the new hotel.

I think this is a great post. I initially felt like I needed to sell my wedding and defend why it's gonna be so fun...now I'm more of the attitude like you where I know I will be there and my FI will be there...everyone else will be a pleasant bonus! No expectations.

If you get any wedding info for the new hotel let me know. I am going to visit the hotel in October so if you have any questions about the hotel I can definitely pass along any info to you. We were worried about the same thing. We didn't want to say to our guests 'no kids' but at the same we wanted to offer our guests with the option of trying out the new hotel. We are going to try to do some group activities to get the group together from time to time. We will probably do a chillout beach day as a group and maybe plan some buffet dinners together. The part that stresses me out is probably all the back and forth to try to see everyone in the different hotels. Oh well...I will be burning calories!

Hey @@dockgirl Yes, I heard about the hotel and I am super excited. We will have some of our group staying at the new hotel adults only and our guests with families (kids) will be staying at the Sunset. The wedding will take place at the Sunset since not everyone will be able to cross over to the Yucatan Platinum. I happy with this option especially since the hotel has not released their wedding packages for the new hotel. We spoke with Guillermo 1 week ago and he said they have not released any info about the weddings at YP. I'm just happy we get to experience the new hotel and also it will have been open almost a year by the time we go. how come you are in limbo? Were you hoping to do the wedding at the Yucatan Platinum section?

Hi Ladies, I'm getting married at the Grand Sunset Princess in June 2015 and I'm going back and forth between choosing the Gazebo Riviera and the Sunset Gazebo. Both have their pros and are so beautiful. Just wondering how others have been deciding.

I'm really trying to increase my intake and I've been adding lemon to my water too...baby steps. I need to cut out diet pop asap

we have a similar situation as well with the tumblers and marracas. I'm hoping I can ask my bridal party to save space in their luggages for some of the wedding supplies. Everyone can take things with them to help out maybe!

I purchased a wedding planner and tickets to a wedding show.

We are able to strike the perfect balance. We are going to have the option for guests to stay at the Grand Sunset Princess (Mayan Riviera) and also the option of staying at the Adults only new hotel right beside it called the Platinum Yucatan Princess. We are going to try to have some group events so people can hang out and bond as well. The wedding will be held at the sunset part of the hotel so everyone can attend.

hey @@April2015 That's exciting that your wedding is coming up this January! So fun. The Sunset Gazebo is so pretty. I have seen a lot of pictures with the gazebo done up in white and then with flowers. Looks so pretty! I am leaning towards the Riviera Gazebo -but I am also open to the Sunset and Oceanfront. We are thinking of doing the reception at the Chillout. My fiancé is a DJ so we are going to have him premix a set and use it there... he'll know how to get the party started! : ) I have a question for you...I have read a few posts about the cocktail party on the beach alternative and I was wondering if you had the pricing for that? thanks!

I think it's great that you have already visited the hotel. I chose my resort based on the fact the went once last year and loved it so much that we went right back 2 months later! It's really hard to choose a hotel that not only fits what you like but also different age groups. We found that the Grand Sunset Princess fit that perfect balance. Despite the fact that have been twice, we are going to try to go this Fall just to sit down and meet the WC and have a real feel for the planning and maybe try to get it all done so that we can just focus on other things as we near the wedding date. Ugh, so rude. I would probably ask for clarification before your feelings get hurt any more. Ask the questions you are wondering about and deal with this asap between you and your FI. The last thing you need is to argue about ridiculous people like this before your wedding! good luck and stay cool!
