  1. Table Numbering: I am torn between two ideas one is slightly more fun than the other, mainly because it involves alcohol! Idea number 1 @TinkerSofi I'm laughing because I'm remembering your Martha stewart frustrations!! These better be easy to use. Message in a bottle table numbering - easy enough and looks pretty. Idea number 2 Drinks will lead you to your seat. I feel like this gets the party started just right! What do you ladies think?
  2. Aww totally cute. I'm going to end up with like 12 cake toppers if I don't stop looking now.
  3. @CanuckGal I think you chose some very pretty colours. I agree with you. Tiffany blue is my fav colour too..it makes me so happy but we already have the water and sky with the blue hues so we decided on coral, soft cream, and gold. I love those soft colours.
  4. these are pictures are soo pretty!!! Love the natural light and bright Mexican colours! congrats!
  5. @@IzzyDeee your dress looks amazing!!!! It's so nice that you had your make trial and dress fitting at the same time.
  6. I know the same feeling.... your wedding is literally right around the corner. I have a feeling I'm going to miss all this planning.
  7. It is honestly so pretty! I love this style. I didn't see that dress when I was at DB. It's so pretty- congrats!
  8. It's not harsh AT ALL...it's actually all you can do. You put in so much time planning and so much money to execute your planning that you really can't give too much importance to someone who is just not getting it. Honestly, I've been in her position before where I just didn't commit to a lot of the bridal activities, I just didn't particularly like participating in them and that's why I didn't even want a shower for myself. I hate attending them. But anyway, as someone who has been in her position, do not take it personally. Just focus on your day, she'll be at the wedding and that's all you can count on her for and that's fine.
  9. Awww that's totally cute. I'm picture the big cellphones from legally blonde. aww. I'm totally stuck - I can't make sense out of it. Does she get along with the other BMs maybe she's just not that into hanging out with all those girls? One thing I'm practising right now is when I get disappointed (which has been happening a lot) I try to switch out the feeling of disappointment with gratitude. I try to think of something that I'm thankful for and focus on that. It seems like you've maxed out what you can really do to try and drag her out to these events. lol
  10. I can totally see how it is frustrating. We kept things simple for our own sanity and are just having the Destination WEdding. We had an engagement party last September to announce our destination wedding idea and we had a photobooth that printed the save the date cards for everyone to keep. We knew that for our group of friends and family, asking them to attend other events in addition to flying out would be a lot and would also be stress for us to organize all these extra things. It could be so many reasons that she can't come...it could be money and she just doesn't want you to feel sorry for her. I have been a BM sooooo many times and I remember bailing on a shower that I was a part of the bridal party. At the time I was single and I didn't realize how 'not cool' that move was. I remember just not having the money for the train ticket and I didn't want to say it was money so I just said I had something. I think until you are a bride sometimes you dont' know how your actions could be taken. I now look back at some of the things I did and realize that I wasn't very understanding to the bride. AT the time I only thought about my time and didn't realize that the wedding isn't just one day, but you are supporting the bride through the process. Don't get me wrong, I was a great bridesmaid but I do recognize some of the things I did do, or didn't do...and I think it sometimes happens but it doesn't mean it happens out of malice. This BM is coming to your wedding, she's booked and paid so maybe that's all she can really do right now. This reminds me of something that happened this weekend. The FI and I have been counting down since 300 days....every day, countdown is on for us.... just yesterday someone posted something on FB saying ,...ok guys lets start the countdown. I love that they are excited but we've been counting down for a while now. Nobody is going to be as excited for you or happy for you as you and your FI are. (that was advice given to me from another member on this forum).
  11. Thank you!! I just read some of the lovely compliments and they totally cheered me up. @wafflesmom my burns are healing. It's amazing the difference that 1 week can make. The pain is basically gone. Now I'm dealing with the actual injury itself but I've been really careful to keep it clean and with cream. I'm frustrated because I still can't work out but hopefully in another week I can start up again. Need to fit into my dress! @ashhtayy thank you so much for your lovely compliments. I wasn't sure if I was going to do a planning thread but it helps me out immensely just to keep me on track and motivates me to continue to work through our projects. My next project is my flower crown @maybeoneday Sorry to hear about your mom's passing. This process has been surreal without my mom around. I knew this day would come and I knew it would be difficult. I still haven't decided how I will honour her memory. xoxo @ Agreed. But I do think that some of my BMs will wear it again, especially if they go to a resort or are on vacation or maybe a summer wedding. I love the convertible style dress. The colour shows up kinda red in the picture but it is more of a coral in person. I am also thinking of giving them their dresses as a gift but I'm still deciding because it's a bit out of my budget right now. My intentions were to do it.
  12. I really like the bags! They turned out really nice! Your rant about Martha Stewart products was hilarious. Everything is coming along so nicely!
  13. @ I think that if I had nothing to compare to the dress to, I would love them. I love the colour. I'm going to have my sister who is my maid of honour, try them on and see what she thinks before I go ahead and order them. Did you buy them for your bridesmaids as a gift?
  14. @@TinkerSofi exactly and that's why I'm going to do a few more trials to find the right look. Thankfully i have the time to do this I would hate to find out I had the wrong makeup the day of.
  15. A little bit of progress this weekend. Bridesmaid dresses: After waiting and waiting for the dress, it finally came in. I ordered the dress in the colour 'coral' and it is very vibrant. I originally had picked out the peach colour from Kleinfeld's Henkaa dresses but it was not quite the colour I wanted. The Henkaa dresses are $169 but these dresses from DaintYard on etsy are about $65 + 20 shipping. The quality of the DaintYard dresses are not quite as great as the Henkaa but they are still nice. They seems thinner and the quality isn't as nice as the Henkaa. I think I'm going to go ahead and order the rest of the dresses from DaintYard as the price is great but I'm still torn because I really think the quality is much better at Henkaa. Cake Topper We went to the one-of-a-kind show and I found a vendor on Etsy that sells these cute 'papel picado' toppers and they are totally customizable. ($15 - lightPaper on etsy) Makeup & Hair Trial The make up is a little too strong for my liking. I'm usually wearing barely any make up. I might want it to be more on the natural side. I do want to wear an accent lipstick for the reception. My hair will be down for the wedding. I'll be wearing a bird cage veil for the ceremony and flower crown for the reception.
  16. Welcome letter (OOT) Our welcome letter is finally done! We might translate these into Spanish- depending on our final numbers. We love the papel picado look - so fun!
  17. BrowWow & Eye lash extension services at Ritual Salon - Toronto. I had so much fun yesterday. I had a bit of a rough week so it was nice to get pampered. Ritual salon offers a few different types of eye lash extension styles. I initially wanted to do the bombshell style but glad I didn't. I already had pretty full long eye lashes so I just went with the 'natural look' and it was more than enough for me. It's fun and I'm totally doing it for the wedding. I also had their BrowWow services which is basically tailoring for your brows. They use a vegetable dye to tint the brows and then define their shape. I'm still getting used to the more defined looked but I'm liking it more today now that it has toned down a bit. Yay! One more thing done. @@kcole123 @@snswedding2016 The browWow service was $30 and eye lash extensions $100
  18. It is so adorable! I wish it was my size!!!
  19. I'm going today and getting them done at Ritual Salon also getting my eyebrows done with their BrowWow service. @@snswedding2016
  20. @@TinkerSofi that's pretty amazing. for anyone that watched the Super Bowl (Katy Perry's half show) I am totally left shark and have very little dance skills. It's a miracle I can even do zumba. I kinda wish that the FI and I did something similar to it, but for me it would create so much extra stress that I'm not I could even handle it. lol
  21. What a gorgeous dress! that seems like it must have been a fun process and so special!
  22. I can't wait! this makes me even more excited to get it done. I already have somewhat long eyelashes but I liked the idea of not having to wear mascara while on vacay and a more dramatic look for the pictures. They have this bombshell package that is $200 and of course that's the package that caught my attention. I'm probably going to get the more natural fill which will just enhance the look I already have. so exciting! that's so funny about your selfies. I could see myself doing that too. I think it's the perfect feel-good boost!
