@@Wafflesmom Aww thank you! You cracked me up with the pj comment. It feels like lately I've had a lot of annoying hurdles. I hope that things tie together nicely in the next 2 months! Thanks so much for the encouragement. I will make sure to pay this forward when the times comes and someone else finds themselves in this position with their dress not fitting. lol

@@calgarybride2015 what a dress roller coaster! Insane. I am going to see what they say tomorrow. I am a bit more hopeful now that I am able to actually put it on all the way. It's a corset so I have laced it up yet, they can do it. thanks for the advice! For a girl who can't really have any cake at all right now, I sure do I have a lot of cake toppers !! My second cake topper came in today. It is papel picado and I love the look! I really liked this one more than the other one. We might use the "&" sign for our table decor at our sweet heart table.

@@MrsCtoB you are so kind! Thank you for the advice. I'm going to go tomorrow. I rush home and tried it on and I was able to actually slip it on all the way. It's tight but I was expecting that. I'm feeling way more hopeful!

@MissJen3 This is such a thoughtful idea. He's gonna love it and the fact that you were so thoughtful to consistently think of something over the course of 365 days. So nice! Congrats.

Thanks ladies! @ @TinkerSofi I have my appointment tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I'm pretty close to considering a liquid diet. lol but ya, it's better to know what's going on. tomorrow is it! Thanks ladies. The lady at the store did say that I was by far not the first bride to have this issue and she assured me there is a lot they can do., they just need to see how it fits. I hope I'm not the worst case scenario.

Thanks @moonpalacebride2be for the advice. I think you are right. I don't necessarily have to go in for the alterations but just to find out if it actually was an error on their part so they can fix it or if that's the size and I need to figure out plan b. Thanks!

@perianjay aww you are so sweet. I have some tears right now. aww. Yesterday I had a dream about my wedding day and me walking down the isle in my pjs and explaining to everyone that my dress just didn't work out. lol I've been working really hard...I did have a set back with my burns. I'm feel like such a disaster. I've been working out at lunch time every day and sticking to protein and no carbs. I'm going to give it all I have. I'm just seriously worried it won't be enough. So question. The lady that I spoke with was so nice and she assured me it would be ok. I feel comfortable with her. She said I could come in either tomorrow or next Thursday to try it on with her. I initially made the appointment for next Thursday so that I could give myself another week to lose more weight. Do you think I should just go in tomorrow and see what's up? Instead of delaying? I could always postpone the actual alterations. My appointment isn't even until the end of this month anyway. What do you think? Thank you so much! The support is unreal. @deecol Go for it!! A lot of brides have used the idea to keep them organized. I'm a visual person 100% so it's been what keeps me organized for sure!

Dress Advice
veryvalentine replied to GingerBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Awww I love your dress! It looks wonderful and screw the destination look. It's amazing. -
The back is a corset so they could add a panel...but honestly like, it doesn't even go up. Like if I only had 3-5" of a gap I would say, cool, I can do this...but it's more like 7-8". It's unreal. I don't know, maybe I don't know how to put it on... I remember trying dresses on at different boutiques and they managed to get some dresses on that I didn't think would go on. So maybe I'm being to wimpy when trying it on. I won't really know til I go in. I told the lady that I felt so embarrassed and ashamed...and I didn't want to hear any "I told you so's.." because they did say the 14 would be more snug because it is stiff..but this is just like, wow. @@TinkerSofi @ @perianjay I can totally relate to how you feel. Although, I feel like a loser because a 16 to 14 should be doable. Like, I don't even get it. I feel like I set myself up for failure but I really didn't see it coming.

@@TinkerSofi I just called the store and I'm going to go in and see what's up. There's just such a big difference in fit from one size to another. I can't wait to go home and check the size of my dress because maybe they made a mistake. I have an appointment and they are going to see if there was an error and what can be done. It's all I can really think about right now.

@pddcmc Awww - well better than never! lol I'm starting to think that our guests probably won't get really excited until like 2 weeks before we leave. It's all I can think or talk about but everyone is like chill.

@@MrsCtoB well everything except my dress. It's a bit of a debacle. I was just reading your thread because you had mentioned your dress situation. I picked up my dress last Thursday and it does not fit. Like barely goes past my butt. I tried on a size 16 in store and it fit fine....I decided to order a 14 because I thought that I could lose enough weight. They warned me that it would be stiff since nobody would have tried it on. I thought that I would have been able to at least put it on and just have the back be a little to small...but no. I had a mega panic attack. I don't think the store made a mistake with the measurements. Anyway, I'm in hustle mode to lose the rest of the weight that I set out to lose. I need to lose 25-30lbs to make sure this dress fits. It's causing me a lot of heart ache. Nightmares.

@FutureMrsSam Hi! So the Henkaa dresses were $169. The quality is great but I was able to find through another member on this site convertible dresses by The Daint Yard (vendor on Etsy) Those dresses are about $60-$65 depending on the exchange rate. + shipping. I just received one and the colour was great. The quality wasn't as nice as the Henkaa one...it's not as heavy but that could be a good thing with the heat.

@TinkerSofi Thanks! It's called tagua. It's basically a nut that is found from the rainforest. They slice the nut and dye it different colours. Very popular in peru and Ecuador.

@ You could always buy them when you are there and just negotiate a bulk price. My walk-in closet is no longer walk-in-able because all our weddings stuff is taking up the space. So the maracas for me would not have been doable if we had to bring them with us to mexico- we have way too much to take.

@perianjay Thanks! They are super cute. My dad spends his winters in Mexico so he actually purchased them in Mexico and he'll be bringing them to the wedding. Our worked out to be about $2 a pair. Not sure what the colours will be like because my dad doesn't get what "coral" is...but I'm sure either way it will be fine. We are going to bring a gold marker and probably write our names on them with the date.

@wafflesmom Ohhh, in that case I think that would be a great idea. How thoughtful. At least if he doesn't wear the band and he does wear the watch, you know that it has just as a special meaning to him because you guys said your vows with the watch and band. It's a different idea and you seem really passionate about it, I say go for it. I like it, it's unique

Oh ya, it's adorable for sure. I don't think it's very common. We are getting married in 2 months and we've been engaged for over a year. Any bridal show that we have attended has been his idea. I have personally not been too interested in the bridal shows but he'd have our tickets ready to go! lol
-
Awwww- you have a bridezillo too!! Yup, I was surprised at how much my FI wanted to be involved. I've even heard the "it's my wedding" from him. lol we have a Bristol board posted on our wall where we post all the things that need to get done on post it notes. (I posted a pic of it on my planning thread) and this has helped us split up tasks. I've learned to not assume he doesn't want to take part in decision. I have gone ahead and done some things without him but I make sure to carefully present the idea and make sure he feels included. I think it's great that he wants to be included. I would much rather this than him just not be interested! he has a little countdown app on his phone- ya, he's great!

Last night I started working on the bridesmaid's jewellery! I just got these fun Tagua slices from the rainforests in Peru. The COLOUR looks amazing with the dresses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
