  1. @@Jennypert Lovely Congrats!!! @@carrieandsam 6 hours is enough but if you want to add more to your package you could. No, you do not need to pay a another vendor fee for the assistant. Your photographer will give you the name(s) of the assistant (s) and they will be registered at the entrance gate when they come in as your photography team.
  2. @@Matt Adcock Hello, I see you had some shootings in Arenika? is it a nice venue? thanks for your info
  3. @@Yazmin De La Mora hi did you ever hear reviews about Arenika?
  4. @@calgarybride2015 Thank you for your kind words and sharing your experience, happy you had a great time! (sent you a PM) Every week I get somethign new..last week was whether or not we should have a videographer... Luckily we were able to decided and learned that a video is one of the memories to have...we will have 6 hours of coverage for an 8 minutes mini-clip.. This week I am dealing with a different "what to do" one LOL
  5. Hello Everyone... I am two months to my wedding and I am still getting things done...I am doing lots lots of DIY things and definitely will post to provide ideas to everyone as some ideas or help. The reason why I write this today is because "you live and you learn". Planning a destination wedding is not as easy as people think, specially when you are overseas; there are lots of information, details and things that we don't know at the moment of planning and making decisions, even if you do a site inspection there are plenty of things that are missed. You will find brides who really do a full research and have plenty of time before their wedding which I think is great, but honestly no every bride is on the same time line and there are tons of information that gets overwhelming and confusing...therefore important things get missed. When I started this journey I wish I had an expert in the area who I could ask directly and get answers in a timely manner, I will tell you that would have a clear idea that would have helped me better. As we go on this planning there are things that we discover later and perhaps when our choices have been made. There are plenty of things to learn on a destination wedding planning journey like events that happen at the wedding day, the resort, locations at the resort and its employees, vendors offered by the resort (very important), set up fees, vendor fees, distances between the activities you plan to do, local tour companies, reviews "true and tried", surrounding locations, off-site resort options if you want to take it out, wedding planners in the area (non resorts), things to do for your guests, music on your wedding day, live bands, cakes and cake toppers, flowers, ceremony decor, officiant, what kind of ceremony, what kind of canapes,gazebo/palapa/beach reception, center pieces and costs, travel with all the stuff to your destination, airfare fees for your excess baggage, rules to bring your items in the destination country, decoration and who will do it for you and how much, even the wedding gown some times is a regret.....in other words..many details. I definitely have my regrets and I wish I could change them but it is too late for us, therefore I will do my best to live and enjoy our special day!!! I just cannot wait until this day happens!!...AND Since I am 2 months to my wedding day and there are plenty of brides with tons of questions, doubts and brides with regrets on what they wished they had done but didn't do it. I want to ask you to kindly post what you wish you have done or chosen but you did not, this will help others for sure to make decisions. Thank you!!!
  6. @@TammyWright this is an old post but it seems that still there are issues, do brides at Karisma end up doing off-resort weddings?
  7. @@AllieH thanks for the link, I was missing this @@BecomingaRiggio @@Ydolem Thank you girls!. Bringing vases might be a pain you know where LOL I am scared to break them but I am not discarding that either, I am working with Katy too but I really need to clear my mind with what I want because I am confused...too many options and we are far from the destination to really get what we want. I will do a sample of my vase idea and take it from there, if this does not work I will just go simpler and avoid stress.
  8. we are going CHEAP here with the cake because we are not allowed to bring it to the USA with us and we think people might not eat the cake as much since we have desserts too, we are looking at the cake for pics only so I don't think we are going fancy with the cake (I might change my mind)
  9. Im not there yet..coconut sound yum, rum sounds yum and dulce de leche sounds nice too. I was planning to request something like the attachments
  10. @@carrieandsam @@BecomingaRiggio Thank you!!! great ideas Where are you renting the vases/tealights/lanterns? I cannot see those options at the Lomas website, I am looking for vases to put shells, water and a submersible light (I don't know what I will end up doing because I can't find the vases I am looking for) Definitely possible, I like your idea!, but I recommend yo to make sure you find the vases first...are those real touch? they can get pricey too. I can't find the vases I am looking for
  11. Question: for those who are using wedding programs will you say something like "lets meet after the reception at the mojito lounge"? @@carrieandsam very nice cake!!!
  12. @@carrieandsam have you looked for an outside and reputable tour agency (local) who can do this for you? I was thinking to do that and you can negotiate a group rate. There are plenty there All are lovely and I agree with carrieandsam stationary is fun!!!
  13. Thanks @@murmel I have been very sad about this because this has really affected my plans. Very sad I would never do this to anyone...Never!
  14. @@BecomingaRiggio Thank you!! Yes someone here contacted them and reference my DJ and my wedding day because she did not have my name. It is sad to know someone who wants to have a happy wedding day does this to hurt another bride who also wishes the same for herself.
  15. @@kmk2016 Thank you so much! I will send you a PM. A DJ wont define happiness on my big day, however this is a concern because of how we all use this board and help each other. It is about the principle and I was told that a bride contacted them referencing my wedding day. I had the link of my wedding website with my info it was easy to get into it
  16. I AM DEVASTATED , someone from this board contacted Karisma and provided exactly my wedding day stating that I was bringing a different DJ and no hiring the DJ they offer. How can someone do this? I cannot believe it. Regardless of how much people can read on boards or how many words a contract can have, it is my business..It is bad to do this type of things like calling and providing other brides info.......that is wrong and breaks my heart...I would never do this to anyone.
  17. Try Wednesday or Tuesday midnight, but for that quantity I would contact expedia or cheapoair and request group air fare (similar to a TA) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Shipping costs ordering stuff has been added to my list of "hidden" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I had $200 per room (deposit) we invited 95 and expected 40-50 We started with 10 rooms and we are on 18 now. The deposit you make will end up added to your bill once the rooms get filled or you drop them ... Ask what's the % of rooms you are allowed to drop. We just started small because you never know... People say "yes" and life turns into different situations Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Also this hotel is goes by rooms booked. Other resorts like Palace Resorts / hard rock go by rooms per night which is much better, and that's how they give you perks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
