  1. @@kcole123 - Thank you! I am just so excited about it all! And, YAY! I heard back from the WC today! @@TinkerSofi - Thank you, also! No, nothing to feel dumb about! A sixpence is one of those bridal traditions, ya know: something old, something new, something borrow, something blue, and a sixpence for your shoe. I think the sixpence is often left out of bridal traditions, but I'm all for vintage stuff... hence the all lace gown http://www.aweddingtradition.com/something_old_something_new.htm
  2. Ok, I think I am going to go the tanning route, too. That's what I did all of the other times before going to Mexico and never burned...I'd hate to burn on my weddingmoon! ....Waxing.. I want to, but I have a very limited pain threshold... This is also a very ridiculous question (it's ok to laugh), how do they do a bikini wax...or more? Do you just lay down butt naked and then they pour hot wax on you and rip it off??? PS my cup photos are posted!!!
  3. Basket for Mini Beach Balls And the best part? There is wire at the top to help keep its shape, but the bag squishes flat = easy to pack CUPS!!! Twine The plan is to attach a little note to each cup Pretty straws ... just because I want a straw with my cup (and whoever else wants one ) Ribbon for Fans Yay for Bridal And Just Because... I love to scrapbook and these are perfect Ring Box for the Wedding Day My poor ring is so dirty A Beachy way to Display our Rings for Wedding Day photos Sixpence for my reception flats
  4. @@smileitseb, look what I found, or I think I found what you are looking for! Joanne's Fabrics (I think that's the name... this was my first time there) has both the clear pages and pages to tape the photos to
  5. I am super excited that our cups are ready to be picked up from FedEx! How silly is it that I am excited about CUPS? Anyway, I'll post a photo shortly
  6. @@smileitseb, What a great idea! Please share what you find out, I'm curious!
  7. Dreams Riviera Cancun Fact Sheet It was posted by Cherie on Cancun Brides via facebook in 2013, some info has changed, but it gives the general idea. Dreams Riviera Cancun Fact Sheet.pdf
  8. @@TinkerSofi, Oh we are hot messes! I'm sure all of us will look stunning on our wedding days. Thankfully, OTC Melatonin helps me sleep I am worried about looking sunburned in my photos! I keep going back and forth on tanning vs spray tan vs tons of sunblock... I know @@kcole123 is going tanning. What about you?
  9. @@kcole123, "BTW I am having a very productive day at work catching up on all the news feeds. haha" - This is what I do on my days off! (I work three 12 hour shifts a week...so I think that makes me a huge slug! lol) I thought that I had my planner form pretty close to exactly what I wanted, but then we had to make a few changes because of additional guests and budgeting and music and flowers and so on and so forth... BUT, I promised Jake I'd enjoy this last month.... soooooo, I need to just stay focused and positive. I have read that almost every bride says things do fall into place and their wedding turned out perfectly..so I just need to trust it
  10. @@acw271011, Your medical history is - wow. I am a nurse and I have seen patients with the same diagnoses, and all I can say is you are a strong woman! It doesn't just take abx and surgery to heal the body, it truly takes willpower and determination! You should be very proud of yourself and your support systems. I wish you the best health and keep keepin on! Also, I must say, I think you are just - so - cool! I love the story of you and your husband.& the strength of your relationship.&your honesty. "And I've said this I know to most of you - there isn't anyone as happy for you as you are. It's no reflection on you. It's just life. Even more so when you get to our age." I def need to keep this in mind. I know that I have posted before stating that sometimes I get sad that certain people can't make it. You have been so wonderful with advice. I believe ST does airbrush make-up, well I am having The Best Moments do my make-up in April and they use airbrush as well. I'll def let you know how it turns out in the humidity
  11. @@kcole123, BAHAHAHAHA! I KNOOOOW! Today, I found myself remembering the dream and having this uneasy feeling mixed with WTH?? followed be laughing... YIKES! Get out of my head!! Side note, I am starting to get concerned - I haven't heard back from my WC and it's been a week. I just want to get answers to 4 questions and finish the wedding planner form! I mean, I was respectful and didn't email anyone while waiting to get my WC. But, now, I'm like ----??? We have a little more than a month until our wedding... I know she is super busy and has other brides to work with, but I think a week is a little ridiculous.
  12. I have had some crazy, messed up nightmares! And as I said before, I really think I am going to lose my composure - as in laughing and not being able to stop! @@kcole123 - What was the approximate arrival date when you purchased the dress? Maybe you can cancel your order on the dress and get a full refund since they are taking longer than they had stated, and in return reuse that money to get a dress locally...or at least closer than China?
  13. I want to see this program everyone keeps talking about! Please share the name of the forum or link
  14. @@FutureMrsHerrera - Wooo!!! Congrats!!! Can't wait to hear all about it
  15. @@snswedding2016 - Thank you! I think that it wonderful that your family is going to record it, especially since you can replay it anytime.. like on an anniversary! @@jenna85 - Absolutely! Let me know if I can help you with anything. Wedding planning is fun, but it can be overwhelming and/or stressful. This site and the brides on it have been such a great relief and it seems like everyone is willing to lend an ear when you need to vent or need suggestions. Luckily, I am in the final month of planning... and with that, the fiance made me promise that I am just going to enjoy this last month of planning and not stress. So far, so good. But, I'll keep everyone posted haha @ - girl. YES. I even had the most bizarre and almost scary dream the other night.. It went something like this: The woman doing my airbrush make-up said I had too high of cheekbones..SO, she started hammering nails into my face. I then looked in the mirror and said, well I guess the nails aren't too obvious. I mean, SERIOUSLY?! What the what??? But, I think strange dreams are how I deal with stress during my first year as a nurse, I had very vivid, strange dreams..
  16. @@SteeleTheSpotlight, No, I'm just sending it in to get cleaned... I only trust them! Yes, please let me know how the fake one turns out Thank you for the warm welcome. We've been here since December and we love it!
  17. ...Mine is being a procrastinator! He hasn't even given thought to a gift! AND, here's the kicker - we are only having a MOH and Best Man because we didn't want a big bridal party.. it would've been too difficult to ask which people we wanted to be in it.. SO, I mean, come on, Fiance... Just choose a freakin gift and let's move on!
  18. @@TinkerSofi, Yeah, I later told my fiance my concern about customs and going to Mexico. He then looked at me like I was nuts and said, "no, those are gifts. We aren't selling them." There are so many brides on this site from Canada! I keep getting confused! Another bride had mentioned making an appointment to get legally married before going to her DW.. I started panicking and I was like ! I thought we could just go to the courthouse with paperwork and voila!? Then, she pointed out that they are in Canada and things are different. lol
  19. @@acw271011, is there an etiquette for tipping at an all-inclusive for a wedding? What about outside vendors? If I had all of the money in the world, wedding planning would be more fun! The financial aspect of it is stressing me out!
  20. I am in a similar boat, I want to have my ring SUPER clean and sparkly for the wedding, only I won't be able to wear mine for about 2 weeks. We recently moved to CO from MO, so I have to MAIL mine to our jeweler via FedEx. I think I am going to get a fake one from somewhere because I am so used to wearing it that I have mini-panic attacks when I notice it isn't on.
  21. I want to be COMPLETELY done with anything wedding-related by the end of March. So, here goes: Things to do this month 1. Cups should arrive this week, but we need to decide on what we are putting in them. We also need to decide on favors and get things ordered. 2. Make tags for cups. 3. Write and print welcome letters. 4. Wedding day Shoes - for both of us (I have barefoot sandals for the ceremony but want flats for the reception). It's more of a matter of just going and picking some out, but we still need to find time to do this. 5. Fiance's Wedding Day Attire - Jake insisted that we could find what he liked and wanted to wear at a department store like Macy's (I knew he was wrong, but we went yesterday just to look). NOPE, we didn't find a thing. He said, "I guess we need to find something online." ----YEAH, I know! That's what I have been trying to *sweetly* tell him. Now, we have a month to find his clothes and I HOPE that they arrive in time and fit correctly. Oh, and did I mention he has several business trips this month and will be all over the country? Awesome. 6. Go to the courthouse to get legally married before we leave for Mexico. 7. Mail my ring to our Jeweler to get it cleaned (we moved so I don't have the luxury of just dropping it off and picking it up when they are done.) 8. Purchase gifts for moms. Yep, still working on that... 9. Pick out music for ceremony, cocktail, reception. 10. Design place cards. 11. Purchase alternative guestbook. 12. Find a dog sitter. 13. Write ceremony. Make that, revise ceremony if needed. 14. Finalize details with WC and getting a few answers to questions such as the length of the arch. 15. Order pencil starfish garland for arch (see #14). 15. Make sure we have enough luggage to pack decor, favors, etc Things to do before we leave 1. RELAX and enjoy the time before our beautiful, wonderful Weddingmoon. 2. Get a mani/pedi.
  22. @@kcole123, I'm sorry to hear that! That is frustrating! I would've asked for my money back, as well. Keep us posted on how things turn out.
  23. @@acw271011 Thank you! Any suggestions? Did I miss anything...does it seem too long? Do you mean custom charges from purchasing online and having it shipped to you? ...If not, I didn't even think about custom charges and taking stuff in to Mexico....
  24. @@kcole123, I think that is completely normal! I am starting to get crazy butterflies every time I think about our upcoming wedding. I am terrified that during the ceremony I am going to be a bawling baby or starting laughing and won't be able to stop (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dV2BfjkP6fU). The latter really may happen to me... I think the stuff for the kids is a great idea and should help keep their attention. I remember parents doing that at church for kids, and guess what? You would never know a single kid was at mass! RIGHT! Well, get this, I told Jake how much the resort was charging for just reception music $626.40 (speakers, microphone, CD player, connection to hook-up an iPod and a technician to play the songs). He about lost it when I said that didn't even include a DJ (1 hour is $382.80). So, if you do the math, 3 hours music set-up and 3 hours of DJ = $1774.90. I did a little price checking with my girlfriends here and how much they paid... they are robbing us! So, what was Jake's response? "We don't need music." Me: "Uhhhh, WHAT???!?" Luckily, 1. we don't love DJs so that wasn't a big deal, and 2. a goalie on Jake's soccer team had an idea. He brings a mini amplifier to the games, and it is crazy loud..and comes with a microphone (more perks and details about the amp on my planning journal - I'm just that lazy)...best $150 we've spent. Here are a few of my wedding stresses 1. I want to be COMPLETELY done with anything wedding related by the end of March. So, here are the things that need to get done: 2. Jake insisted that we could find what he liked and wanted to wear to the wedding at a department store like Macy's (I knew he was wrong, but we went yesterday just to look). NOPE, we didn't find a thing. He said, "I guess we need to find something offline." ----YEAH, I know! That's what I have been trying to *sweetly* tell him. Now, we have a month to find his clothes and HOPE that they arrive in time and fit correctly. Oh, and did I mention he has several business trips this month and will be all over the country? Awesome. 3. Make the decision of what we are doing for favors and OOT bags and get things ordered. (So far, we've been lucky with shipping, but I don't want that unnecessary stress). 4. Alterations - We've started, but I just feel overwhelmed that my dress is still being worked on. 5. Shoes - for both of us. It's more of a matter of just going and picking some out, but we still need to find time to do this. 6. Go to the courthouse and get legally married before we leave for our wedding in Mexico. 7.
