  1. Girl. I couldn't get his help on the music either... so what did I do? Make a playlist (and add some songs that I KNEW he'd dislike so that he would give an opinion!) lol Well, I was too nervous to go straight for the Brazilian so I had to ease myself in to it! I do recommend wearing a sundress (or some kind of loose-fitting clothes) because the rubbing/pressure from my jeans was causing discomfort.
  2. I had my waxing appt today - it really wasn't that bad! The technician was very personable, friendly, and professional. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. I just had my brows and bikini line done. I am going back the Monday before we leave for the Brazilian (LOL) This Wednesday I pick my dress up (!!!!!) and take the dogs to get vaccinated. Thankfully, we purchased the FI's shirt today. My goodness, this man is DRIVING ME CRAZY! He is SUCH a procrastinator! He has yet to finish the Welcome Letter... I just want to be done with the little things... That's so exciting that you guys are doing 'the legal thing' this week!!! You must be so excited! (We are slowly moving through all of the legal paperwork)
  3. Music Prelude: "In My Life" - Beatles "Yellow" - Coldplay "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" - Queen Processional: (all preformed by FI's cousin on piano) Matron of Honor & Best Man - a piece written by FI's cousin Bride - "A Love Idea" - Mark Knopfler Postlude: "Here Comes The Sun" - Beatles First Dance: "In My Life" - Beatles

I also bought plastic baggies (I've read several times that people always find use for these?) and mint LifeSavers. Will will also add pepto and lip balm (still need to purchase). Finish said tags for cups Write Welcome "letter" - this will also be "stuffed" in the cups. This will include a welcome and thank you note from us, currency conversion ($1 USD = x pesos), restaurants and their hours & dress codes, an About Us section, a Who's Who section with bridal party and our moms, wedding day itinerary and reception menu, the resort map (this indicate wedding event locations), "tips", a list of places people traveled from to be at our wedding, and resort activities. >FI is supposed to finish this task tonight... 6. You'll get it done! I'm slowly checking things off my list - mine looks just about the same! lol And, yes, the FI has to get his shirt, STILL!
  7. I'm an adult critical care nurse (I hardly remember much about babies and birth control, thanks for the advice @@calgarybride2015 ). Anyway, those meds are antibiotics (abx), which won't do much if it is in fact shingles, except prevent a potential infection. but that is itself is an issue because if it isn't a bacterial infection, then he is just on an abx... and the threshold lowers and abx become less effective for that person overt time (if used often). (but, again, that's a different issue). @@kcole123 You should consider getting the chickenpox vaccine if you haven't had it yet... *note: this is not intended to scare you, but just to inform/educate you (if needed) for one, chickenpox is MUCH worse for adults - healing time, how the adult immune system reacts, etc two, if your FI has shingles now (or even if it doesn't at this time, but has an outbreak later) the varicella zoster (chickenpox) can be spread via the "fluid" from the open blisters to a person who doesn't have immunity. thus, the non-immune person will develop chickenpox (not shingles [aka herpes zoster - *different strand than genital herpes*] - shingles is the reactivation of the chickenpox virus) and finally, if you plan on getting pregnant, you cannot be in contact with someone active with the virus (fluid-filled blisters) because of the risk of catching chickenpox (again, this is is you don't have some kind of immunity). chickenpox while pregnant can lead to infection or birth defects. so, what can you do to protect yourself if you don't want the vaccine? 1. GOOD HAND HYGIENE 2. do not come in contact with the fluid from the blisters 3. get a titer drawn (blood test that checks antibodies) to see if you have any kind of immunity I think antivirals are a gift! let me explain - although they do not "cure" the virus, the greatly alleviate symptoms and slow the virus down. in fact, my dr wrote me a script for one just in case because I am very prone to cold sores (fever blisters - whatever you want to call them) when I'm stressed (esp when I travel)... the last thing I want is a big, painful blister on my lip during my wedding! let me know if you have any questions. i hope this helps!
  8. So, just real quick before I head to work work.... did the dr start him on an antiviral, such as valaciclovir? - it helps slow the virus and is a 7 day course (caution - . as long as there aren't any contraindications, he should take an OTC med (ie tylenol or ibuprofen) to help with inflammatory pain. did the dr give him any topical creams for the blisters to prevent infection? hopefully it isn't bad enough that he needs steroids because he is younger and this is potentially his second attack, he should consider talking to his dr about the shingles vaccine... shingles can cause permanent nerve damage... which can lead to more problems later. also, @@kcole123 have you had the chickenpox???

  10. Ouch! Well, I guess I'll be leaving the salon sore... I'm getting my eyebrows and bikini wax! lol @@beckys98 Nah, don't feel bad. I think some brides really love wedding planning, but I'm just not one of them. For one, I am a people pleaser (not to be confused with a pushover) and two, I don't like making decisions. Honestly, I'd be perfectly happy with an entire wedding planned for me - right down to colors, etc and someone just saying ok, show up at this time. I know all of this will be worth it, but I have a hard time not rolling my eyes sometimes and saying I want to be married to my husband and move on to bigger things than one day. But, in retrospect, I think I would feel sad if we didn't have a celebration with family and friends.
  11. @acw271011 @Wafflesmom @TinkerSofi Thank you! I am so excited! I often times catch myself thinking, wow I get to call my FI my husband extremely soon! This morning, the FI says to me (completely serious), "can I wear my ring so I can get used to it?" But, it wasn't in an annoyed-I have to get used to wearing it... it was more like I'm really excited and I want to get used to wearing it. I don't know...it was really sweet. To add to the list: I realized today that I also need to go to the post office and put a hold on our mail since we'll be gone for so long. __________________________________________________ My Bridal Hanger came in the mail! I love that it is engraved. The only thing I would change is the color of the hanger (I love dark cherry), but I am very happy with the product! I am going to add a ribbon bow to the handle.

  13. @@kcole123 Ok. Don't worry, I always have an opinion. So, here I am sharing LOL Girl. I'm not even going to try to lie, I feel like that MOST of the time! I consider myself rather "girly," but wedding planning is hardly what I'd call "fun." I can't wait to be done with it so I can go on with my life and spend time with my husband....and devote more time to other things. I feel like you may be able to find them with seashells through etsy, but probably for a pretty penny (or at least more expensive than making them yourself). They usually have those clippy things you are talking about at craft stores. I'd even look at Target/WalMart. You could purchase shells and hot glue them yourself? I guess it depends on which that you value more, your sanity and time vs saving money. We aren't putting specific names on gifts for people. That's too much work for me to put together, and what's more is finding the "right" gift for the "right" person when handing them out. (Yes, we are handing them out. I think it's more personal, AND I think it's ridiculous what the resort charges to hand items out). Additionally, I feel the same way - guests will look at it for 5 seconds and then toss them in the trash. "I have realized through this planning process, that the little things are not really what's going to matter. I have also decided to cancel the décor for the boat, just so I could book the extra hour with them. I don't think it will look horrible because the meal, the boat, the water, the beauty of the ocean, the party, the drinks, the people is what the guests will really be talking about that day." ----> Here is what my bestie keeps reminding me - only you will know what you have changed or if something goes wrong. ALSO, I think that adding a ton of decorations to any event for a DW is overkill... it takes away from the natural beauty and that's what I find so appealing about a DW. Furthermore, I don't know about you, but we chose a DW for several reasons, including it being a slightly less expensive option, ya see where I'm going with this? - Bikini wax - No details needed ME TOO! I'm nervous! - Music list - have been working on this with Nathan (this was his only task by the way). I got him drunk one night and we listened to some music and we started jotting stuff down. You have to do what you have to do. haha GENIUS! I think our list is just about the same. We can do this! @@TinkerSofi As I mentioned above, I have felt the same way! You can do it!
  14. ...ha....ha...still, have yet to do that... @@TinkerSofi aw! I love your ideas and I'm sorry I didn't see them first! I just kept on keepin' on with my original tags because I figured the amount of time put in to them wouldn't be worth it - guests would look at them for 5 seconds and then toss them in the trash. _________________________________________________ Tags
  15. @@IzzyDeee Wow! That's impressive! Is it heavy? Yeah, I've thought about that, but the FI says it's too cheesy.
  16. @@IzzyDeee ooohhhhh! I want to see your brooch bouquet!
  17. Nope, I don't think they'll be disappointed. Honestly, I don't see the point in purchasing bags. Chances are guests will bring their own beach bag if they want one...and the men most likely wouldn't use them. We ordered double wall insulated cups and are "stuffing" them with aloe vera, tums (2 doses), LifeSavers mints (which also help calm upset stomch), spf lip balm, and adding confetti (just because it's pretty). Surprisingly, all of this fits in to the cup, with room to spare! We are also designing a Welcome Letter that will be in each cup. The letter will include a thank you note from us, a who's who info section (moms' names and bridal party), where people traveled from, "tips," restaurant hours and dress codes, wedding day itinerary, and reception menu. (I think that that's it.. I may be missing something on the letter.. I can't remember offhand). Additionally, I am designing tags that will be attached to the cups. And lastly, as noted in the photo - we are giving a first aid kit with the cups (Johnson & Johnson is great - bandaids, neosporin, tylenol, etc).
  18. Gotcha. My occupation requires those immunizations . I was starting to worry that I had ANOTHER thing to add to my to do list lol
  19. @@kcole123 girl. I've been posting like crazy, but haven't seen you post much in a while. Are you hanging in there ok?

  21. @@hellosassypants Unless you are looking for zofran, reglan, phenergan, etc, you can by buy dramamine OTC . Personally, I think dramamine works just as great. I used it when I went on a sunset cruise on a sailboat and when I was on a bigger boat to go out snorkeling.
