  1. 1. Don't worry about feeling behind (easier said than done!), we are STILL working on things...and we leave Wednesday!!! 2. Welcome Letter - sorry, page 18 http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/77696-our-dw-dreams-riviera-cancun-17-apr-2015/?p=1892314 3. Welcome Gifts http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/77696-our-dw-dreams-riviera-cancun-17-apr-2015/?p=1891194 http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/77696-our-dw-dreams-riviera-cancun-17-apr-2015/?p=1891179 We aren't doing actual bags.. If you are talking about tote bags, beach bags, what have you and putting the OOT items in it, I think it is a sweet idea, but impractical/needless money expense. For example, I've noticed that usually the people who want to use a bag, bring their own. Also, most of the time the men won't use them, and furthermore, chances are, guests will never use them again. And as far as simple, party gift bags, again, guests will look at them for 5 secs and toss them- waste of money in my eyes. So, I've decided to spend a little more on double wall insulated cups that I know all of our guests will use while they are there and "stuff" them with the OOT items and Welcome Letter. As far as gifts, well, see my response "#1." lol
  2. @@beckys98 I'll ask my FI if there is a way to share it - he used an adobe program.
  3. @@TinkerSofi I'm really excited about my "something blue!" I purchased a custom blue dress label from etsy that I am having sewn in to it! https://www.etsy.com/listing/119072411/i-do-something-blue-personalized-wedding?ref=shop_home_active_6
  4. ...I am struggling with this! Mine doesn't like to wear a watch... help, please
  5. Are you able to attach it so that I can see it, as well? Thanks!
  6. @@victoriasalv I am sending out an email this weekend (we are leaving on Wednesday, wedding is Friday) with "reminders" (wedding attire, restaurant dress codes, don't forget to pack..., etc). I have found that even though I have provided our wedding website SEVERAL times, people aren't so great at actually reading it and/or retaining the information. Once our guests are at the resort, they will receive a welcome letter: (I'm still working on the letter... this is a draft printed on computer paper lol)
  7. @@lornj29 I am getting married in Mexico next week! I posted photos of my invitation under my gallery. As far as the welcome letter, I also posted a photo of it on my planning journal (I think page 16). I hope this helps!
  8. This week: -Get through my last three shifts of work - Friday -Email our guests with "reminders," including restaurant attire - I have this written, I am just waiting to send it out on Saturday/Sunday that way people don't overlook it -In said email, include rehearsal info for his mom, my mom, MOH, Best Man, and musician - see above -Print table numbers & place cards - The WC and I keep going back and forth with idea. I am afraid of it possibly being too windy, so I think we are going to do pretty frames from a vendor for $5 a piece. -Print Welcome Letter and put in cups - finished revising letter and take it to a print shop this weekend -Take the dogs to the vet for their influenza vaccine (kennel cough shot) - Today. Poor fur babies don't know what's coming. -Pick up my dress - TODAY! -Finish makin' it legal - TOMORROW! -Purchase extra suitcase for wedding day "stuff" and gifts for guests - This weekend -Finalize playlist with FI - This weekend Next Week (Monday/Tuesday): -Finish packing -Stop mail -Get a good night's rest -Purchase random items (ie extra sunblock, super glue, Tide Stick, Febreze, etc) -Notify our banks that we will be out of the country -Make sure all receipts, wedding day confirmation letter, and flight info are filed together and easily accessible -Have a list of items in each suit case (in my purse) in case something happens to our luggage -Print a copy of our wedding ceremony script -Mani/pedi Wednesday: -Wake up -Shower & do hair/make-up -Take dogs to their sitter -Get on our flight with my FUTURE HUSBAND for OUR WEDDING -Meet with WC to go over details Thursday: -Extra "bridal shower" -Relax Friday: -THE DAY
  9. Mine is just now starting to get involved haha (note, we are getting married on the 17th!)
  10. We are printing the map on the back of our welcome letter, I think. However, we are still editing our Welcome Letter, so it's possible that the map will go on the front with everything. If you'd like, take a look at my planning journal - I just posted a picture of our letter. I think the packing sheet is a great idea, but..if your luggage doesn't make it... you're out of luck because the list was with it, ya know? I think I'll use the idea, but keep the list of what's packed in each suitcase with me. Did you know that if your luggage isn't recovered, the airline will reimburse you up to a certain dollar amount, given you can provide very detailed info about the items in the luggage? I am checking all items. We can't carry everything on the plane, so we are carrying on the "must haves," heaven forbid something happens to our luggage. (You will find me in a bar having a cocktail or two before we leave so ease my mind of everything little "what if" scenario... haha) Most of my FI's family is from Mexico City and they don't even trust their postal service, but to each, their own.
  11. My goodness, thanks everyone! The support here has been so wonderful! It FINALLY, REALLY hit me yesterday (a little late, I know haha) that I am getting married. We've been planning for so long that I guess it felt like it would never get here! Anyway, while I was leaving work, one of my co-workers asked when my last day was. I told her Friday and she said, "well, I guess today was my last day with you. The next time I see you, you'll be a married woman!" ....The biggest, cheesiest smile appeared across my face when she had said that. It was really exciting to hear that! _____________________________________________________ Welcome Letter This is a rather rough draft, but I thought I'd share what I have so far. I want to change the wording of some things, but this gives a general idea of how ours will look. Once we/I finalize it, we'll take them to a print shop for high-quality ink and paper.
  12. Oh, I am so excited for you!!! I can't wait to see all of your photos!!!!
  13. We are going direct, as well, so I agree about the chance being lessened. Also, I had the same debate about the tags and have opted to not use them for that very reason. I may attach my Bride tag to the garment bag in hopes that people will be extra nice to us in the airport ....and when it is carried on to the place (LOL)

Call your cell phone provider and inquire about adding an international package to your plan for the week or two you will be abroad. Depending on your phone carrier you might be able to get this for free if traveling to Mexico or for a small prorated fee if traveling to the Caribbean. An international plan on your phone will allow you to communicate with family/friends or vendors without incurring enormous roaming fees. If you have a smart phone and do not have an international data plan, make sure you turn off your data while abroad or you could incur outrageous fees when your phone automatically updates email/text messages EVEN if you don’t use your phone. Call you phone company for details. Source: http://destinationweddingdetails.com/destination-wedding-packing-list.html ________________________________ Goodness, I hope these days fly by! I am so excited!!! We're stopping our mail just so our box doesn't get full. We use to have our neighbor collect our mail when we went abroad, but we've moved and are still new to our city. I wish we didn't get bills, either The world would be a happier place if everything were free! lol
  15. I thought I'd share this website: http://destinationweddingdetails.com/destination-wedding-packing-list.html It has a packing list and tips on traveling with your wedding dress
  16. @kcole123 Are you at all concerned about things getting "lost" (esp all of your gifts, OOT items, etc) between your departure and arrival? I know there is not point in worrying because it won't affect anything, but it's hard to keep this nagging thought out of my head!
  17. Those Pesky Little Details... ...forget about it! I've decided to nix the stickers and just go with what I have. We leave in TEN days for Mexico!!! I was afraid of the tags getting damaged in transport, so I'm keeping the strings from getting tangled with a "bread tie." We will attach the tags once we are at the resort. Plus side: -The FI FINALLY has all of his wedding day attire! (it's about time!) -The Welcome Letter is D.O.N.E.! -I get my e-ring back from the jeweler (yaaay for it being all polished and extra sparkly for the wedding day!) This week: -Get through my last three shifts of work -Email our guests with "reminders," including restaurant attire -In said email, include rehearsal info for his mom, my mom, MOH, Best Man, and musician -Print table numbers & place cards -Print Welcome Letter and put in cups -Take the dogs to the vet for their influenza vaccine (kennel cough shot) -Pick up my dress -Finish makin' it legal -Purchase extra suitcase for wedding day "stuff" and gifts for guests -Finalize playlist with FI Next Week (Monday/Tuesday): -Finish packing -Stop mail -Get a good night's rest -Purchase random items (ie extra sunblock, super glue, Tide Stick, Febreze, etc) -Notify our banks that we will be out of the country -Make sure all receipts, wedding day confirmation letter, and flight info are filed together and easily accessible -Print a copy of our wedding ceremony script -Mani/pedi Wednesday: -Wake up -Shower & do hair/make-up -Take dogs to their sitter -Get on our flight with my FUTURE HUSBAND for OUR WEDDING
  18. We are adding our resort map on the back with symbols for wedding day locations. I like what you did, too. I think I may borrow your ideas
  19. We are almost finished with our Welcome Letter, but I am hoping to pick yalls brain. So far, we have: Welcome and Thank you note Who's Who - Our moms, MOH, and Best Man Tips - ie take the cups we've given them to the bar, etc About Us Restaurant Dress Codes Wedding Day Itinerary Reception Menu Does it seem like we are missing anything? Thanks!
  20. @kcole123 @@IzzyDeee We don't even have a full bridal party, so it shouldn't be this difficult! In fact, we just need gifts for our moms, my matron of honor, and his best man. I think the perfume is a great idea! Perfect to freshen up and it'll fit in any purse and just about any clutch!
  21. I forgot to mention, I got the FI to work on the Welcome Letter (he's doing it right now! yaaay!)...& he sent me out to buy a bottle of wine to calm my nerves! LOL Oooooh! Great ideas! I have yet to get gifts, let alone decide on what we are giving... (*sips wine*)
