I have a friend that is going to show me how to do my own bridal make-up (I've heard that the style in Mexico is a little darker/heavier than I prefer). My question is: what is the best high-def brand of make-up? (I haven't asked her yet, I was just curious on other brides' experiences in the heat and humidity?)

What is the best way to prepare for your trash the dress session? Simple hair and make... go natural? I'm on the fence about the whole thing. Is there a way to clean the dress? And, would my dress dry out enough to take it home?

Do most brides carry-on their OOT bags and goodies?

I really started considering RPM yesterday after I saw they have a package for up to 40 guests. I suppose I misunderstood what "Riu Caprice Wedding package 2015 includes: Semi-private dinner at one of our specialty restaurants," means...I took that as the meal was included in the quote? Also, chair and table rental is not included? Hm, I kind of feel like an idiot now...thinking on it, the quoted price sounds like a steal.

I am considering the Riu Palace Peninsula. Have you booked anything yet? This resort really appeals to me because they have a wedding package for up to 40 guests. Other than that, I haven't done too much homework on the resort yet.

I am just so so so excited ! I feel like I made a breakthrough today! I found 3 resorts whose wedding packages are for UP TO FORTY GUESTS!!! This gave me such a sigh of relief! I was really starting to panic because even the largest packages that I had found was for up to 20 guests, and an additional 20 guests would be an additional $2000-$3000 (which was going towards my outside photographer). I haven't done too much research on the resorts themselves, yet. But, if anyone is interested, the resorts are: Grand Sunset Princess (in Playa del Carmen), Riu Palace Peninsula (in Cancun), and Riu Palace Mexico (in Playa del Carmen). -Calmer Bride

Did any of you decide to get married there?

Our travel agent actually suggested getting married at the courthouse and then having a symbolic ceremony in Mexico. She said it looks EXACTLY the same and no one has to know (she's had SEVERAL brides do it.) She also said it saves some of the hassle as far as arriving early (I think you are required to be there 4 days before the civil ceremony), getting blood drawn, obtaining copies of the certificate and having in translated. I hope this helps.

Hi, everyone! So, we are planning a destination wedding in Mexico (probably Riviera Maya or Cancun) for April 18th, 2015. I am having some serious anxieties: 1. the guest list is too big to me! (but, we can't really cut anyone out) -we will have at least 35 guests, but probably closer to 40-50 2. I have no idea how to go about choosing which resort. I thought I wanted the Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun, but the package was for up to 20 guests and the packages really didn't have the important things. SO, back to square one. 3. I think that I need to stop being so concerned with the budget because in reality, we are still saving quite a bit by doing a DW instead of a local one. 4. I am also freaking out about photography, hair, and make up. I feel like even if there is a photographer provided by the resort, we should still hire someone from the outside? And, hair and makeup - is it possible to have a trial at the spa? I am terrified of the make up just..not..looking..so...great.. or my hair being too flat... I don't know. Does anyone have any suggestions, or can someone at least relate? I feel like I am being so dramatic, but I don't really have anyone to listen to these concerns because all of my friends have had local weddings. Thanks so much for the venting!
