Barefoot sandals and then changing for the reception into Toms or Sperrys that will "match" my fiance's shoes

I want an ivory dress because it won't wash me out and it'll look great against the sand. As far as shoes, I am going with barefoot sandals (we are marrying on the beach). Fiance and I have talked about getting fun sperrys, toms, or something of that sort and we'll "match" for the reception. It's a little cheesy, but I think it would be super cute, esp in photos. Nails: I am going to do a fun color for my toenails - probably coral since it's one of our wedding colors. Fingernails, I think I'll do some sort of natural look and have them use the gel polish - I absolutely love it and it lasts so long..and doesn't chip. Do some pinterest cruising for wedding nail ideas

In an offhand way, many of my friends said they didn't think they a bridal shower would be appropriate since I am having a destination wedding.... has anyone else encountered this? And, is it selfish of me to be a little upset about this? I mean, granted it is asking a lot...buuuuut, I have spent a lot of money on their weddings (shower & wedding gifts and being in the bridal party), e-parties, bridal showers, bachelorette showers, and baby showers....

My passport invite will include info for booking, etc. - they will need to book through our travel agent and this will be how guests rsvp. Our TA also offered to answer all questions guests have - anywhere from flights, room options, etc. I am also going to include our knot website on our passport -- they can find out more about little details, the hotel, etc.

Have you been to crafting stores such as Michael's and Hobby Lobby? Both have a TON of coral options - bows, artificial flowers, etc. In fact, one of the stores (I'm sorry, I can't remember which) has wedding display made up of coral and grey flowers, personalized napkins, cups, bridal party shirts, etc. Good Luck!

I think I am going to wear my hair up because it is so fine that I am afraid that any curl will just fall flat after a few hours, epecially in the humidity. Plus, if it's windy I'd hate to have every photo with hair in my face...
