  1. @@Yscampbell - We hired del Sol (http://delsolphotography.com/). They are more expensive, but I really love their work... I just couldn't get their images out of my mind. Additionally, the FI is an amateur photographer.. so, there's that. But, anyway, Ael is sooo personable, even through emails. If you decide on del Sol, you will hire a main photog with them and they provide a second photog. We also chose them because we are having an AHR and we'd love to share our wedding as much as possible those who can't make it, and we feel like photography is the closest some of them can get. We also really considered Dean Sanderson (http://deansandersonweddings.com/) As of right now, we are doing our trash the dress session with Adventure Photos (in-house photog) Good luck! Let me know if you have any other questions.
  2. @@edeaton - Are you bringing sparklers or purchasing them through the resort? As far as the DJ, (from my understanding of the budget planner) if you hire the DJ, the equipment is included. But, there is an option to rent the equipment (speakers, hook up, etc) to play your own music off an iPod/iPhone/etc (technician included).
  3. @@Yscampbell - Yes, we hired an outside photog.I like their in-house photographer, but I have found others that we like better.
  4. @@TinkerSofi - I was working on posting the same question! I really don't want to go the tanning bed route, either...I don't like the color that it gives. I guess I'll figure something out closer to our wedding...
  5. This isn't the one I am going to purchase.... It is a little too thin and straight (and the wrong color) for my liking... But I love that it has pearls and diamonds on it. I've been looking on etsy...they have some really nice choices.. my only hesitation is I would like to see that it looks like on me first... hmmm...
  6. A season/month is a good place to start. After you have settled on a location you can start checking on specific date availability. Most resorts have up to 2 weddings/day. As far as October, it depends on where you want to go.... Hawaii, Mexico, Bahamas, etc...because of different rainy/hurricane/etc seasons. After that, I'd choose a travel agent...they have traveled to a lot of places & have stayed at all kinds of resorts, so they will be a great resource. Plus, they can help you get the best rates for you & FI, and guests. I remember being in the same place you are back in March. This site is very helpful, tons of resources, and brides (ones who have recently married and ones currently planning) are willing to offer suggestions/advice/feedback on their experiences. So, Try cruising this site more. Also, check out the "resort reviews" section. I hope this helps! Happy planning!
  7. Same! I love the flowers in your hair! Are they natural or artificial? @@FUTURE MDB - Did you bring your own sand ceremony stuff or was it the one that comes with the wedding package?

  9. My sorority sister made photo albums for each of us. She had written about her friendship with the specific bridesmaid in the inside cover and it had photos of bridesmaid and the bride together. The last picture page didn't have a photo and she wrote something to the effect of will you be my bridesmaid and something about a photo of us from my wedding. Just a thought?
  10. @@AmberDragon - That is what I have assumed as well, while trying to purchase decor. I don't have a WC yet (still too early)...maybe if you have one, you could ask them? Also, for those bringing things, are you having a friend/family memeber set your stuff up, or are you paying the resort's set-up fee?
  11. @@csho - thanks so much! I love what I am seeing!
  12. I was just wondering what "traditions" or special touches you were adding to your ceremony? So far, I have a sixpence and a "something blue" personalized wedding dress label, both ordered from etsy.
  13. I am getting my passport invites from http://weddingpassports.com/ I ordered a sample from them off etsy, I could not be happier! Check them out!
  14. Hi ladies! I am almost ready to share our knot page with our guests. However, I am having trouble choosing the 'right' wording...I want it to be rather clear that wedding events are for adults only (16+). Don't get me wrong, I love kids....I just don't want to hear screaming, crying, whining, etc on our day. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  15. Is your travel agent able to help them book their flight as well? Our TA through Apple Vacations is handling RSVPs, flights, transportation, and booking rooms.
  16. I started doing the "Brazil Butt Lift" workout..and wow... It has started toning muscles that I completely forgot about!
  17. Could you go to the same jeweler the ring was bought from and try things on? As a bonus, I've heard from many brides that if you purchase the wedding rings from the same place the e-ring was bought from, they give a little "discount" on the wedding rings.
