@@HeyItsJackie - Congrats! We chose a DW for one of the same reasons! And, yes, I believe your budget is totally reasonable. I have found that most resorts' wedding packages include up to 20 guests (this number includes you and your groom). We are doing the Ultimate Dream package (the most inclusive at our resort) and it is for $3299.00. Good luck planning!

@@natmorales - welcome to the forum! have you looked at the resort reviews? that helped me a lot...and messaging brides on this forum

@@desmiv - Hm, that's a good questions... I haven't thought that far ahead. I know that if you do some kind of hook-up, you still get a technician.. so I don't know if they can do that part? @@nattiegams325 - Which style room did you guys get? Do you have photos? I am getting so excited for you! Your day is soooo soon!!! )))

@@kcole123 - Thanks for the input! We ended up moving from MO to CO in December, so I am starting from scratch with bridal shops (as far as which ones I like). But, I've found two that I like to possibly do my alterations. I know I need to make a decision soon... we'll be in Mexico in less than 3 months! I need to figure out what to wear under my dress... I want to wear Spanx for my lower belly (I cannot seem to flatten this area out, no matter what I do!)..but am afraid of being too hot... does anyone have any suggestions?

Great Find On Pashminas!
pddcmc replied to MrsRoland2015's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Thanks for the idea! It looks like you can only purchase in store? -
Ok, so mine is about average. I just didn't think it would cost quite that much. Don't even get me started on veils...why are they so darn expensive? I found a GORGEOUS veil...for $350-something...and the belt that I love is $465... I just don't know if I can get myself to spend that much...

@@smileitseb - If you're having a symbolic ceremony, I can email it to you if you'd like. Yes, we are having the same dilemma for music lol So, I asked Jake to start picking things out since he is being so picky I also had a nightmare that I forgot to get my hair done...so then I was scurrying around trying to figure something out. My goodness.. I am kind of ready to just be done planning, ready to be laying on the beach...drinking nice frou frou drinks..and working on a tan...

I agree with @@kellymiller. That's a shame that your resort's flowers aren't much to write home about. Are they charging you to hire an outside vendor? Our resort charges a ton to upgrade our flowers and to add on...I voted against that.. I mean, we aren't going to have the chance to enjoy them a whole lot...so I figure we can better spend the money elsewhere.

Ladies! I absolutely LOVE my wedding gown. It is all lace (I have yet to see any other gown with anything close to it), and is mermaid style. When I ordered it, I was between two sizes...so I went with the bigger size just to eliminate the stress of "what if it doesn't fit?!" Well, I've been shopping around for alteration quotes... my goodness! $500+! Am I just being cheap? That seems like a lot to me! But, I suppose it's because it is a very intricate lace...? Has anyone else ran in to this kind of expense with their gown?

@@LauraM - Are the bouts and corsages included in your package?

We're doing the hook-up for music instead of a dj, as well. Has anyone found a good source for ceremony readings and vows? I requested the 'script' be sent to us...and to say the least, I am not a fan of it at all... How is planning ceremony music and a first dance song going for everyone? We're working on that right now. Completely random, but just wanted to share... I had a weddingmare two nights ago... I dreamed that our travel agent booked all of us at the wrong resort! AHHHH! Maybe I do have a little wedding stress and I just didn't realize it?!

Getting Wrinkles Out Of Veil
pddcmc replied to nadiakat17's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
What a great thread! I didn't even think about transporting the veil. Are you guys going to carry it on in the same bag as your dress? -

Does anyone have experience with dollardays.com for OOT items? I found some great bargains for aloe, sunblock, pepto, etc... but I am curious about the condition/quality. Or, any other suggestions for these items elsewhere, do share! Thanks!

Our Dw: Dreams Riviera Cancun 17 Apr 2015
pddcmc replied to pddcmc's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
Updates: We were assigned our wedding coordinator just this week, which is super exciting... but, also means I need to start getting into full-swing wedding mode. We need to start finalizing our favor selections, pick out music, decide on FI's wedding day attire (!!!), cake toppers, start working on our Wedding Planner form, and all of the other "little" details. Today, I have an alteration consultation and am going accessory shopping. I am excited, but nervous since I am new to the area, and don't know too much about the bridal shops here. However, I have done quite a bit of research and have asked around at work... I did find MOH get-excited-gifts in our colors to mail to my sissy and bestie 97 DAYS UNTIL THE BIG DAY!!! -
Yay! We were assigned Maira Gomez for our wedding planner! I received an email with the Budget Planner Form, Guest List & Seating Chart, Budget Planner, and our confirmation letter. However, I did not receive the Links Catalog. Do yall know if there is a place either on this forum or elsewhere that I can get it? I don't want to start bombarding her with email already... Thanks!

@@nattiegams325 - Yes, a little more than 5 months before the wedding! Talk about stressful! We relocated for Jake's job, but we absolutely love it here! The weather is gorgeous, even when it is cold because it doesn't feel as cold as the Midwest's cold, if that makes sense. Goodness, what sort of things did you change on your wedding planner form? Was is mostly details that you had envisioned? I haven't touched mine in months...but, I still have time. (I believe they asked us to email it back about 3 months before the wedding date?) As far as ordering things, yeah, I wish I could get those things done sooner than later, but as you mentioned, it can't be done until numbers are finalized. I'm stressing a little over people booking, or lack thereof... guests have until Dec 30th (our TA isn't in the office on Wed.)...and it appears that many are waiting until then. BUT, I am also a little concerned that maybe people have forgotten because invites went out so early... the FI really wants me to send out a reminder, but I don't want to badger or pressure people since we sent something out November 1st. What do you think?? When did you get your WC assigned to you? One more thing, if anyone has contacts out in Denver who have experience with dress alterations, please let me know. I went to a holiday crafting party and brunch with some of my sorority sisters this past weekend, and they gave me some names, but I just want to have plenty of options...because, well, we are new to the city and getting my dress altered is a pretty big deal! Thanks! && happy planning!

@@hsocorso - We're getting married on April 17th on the beach... it's a Friday...and we chose the beach for the ceremony and chose the deck for our reception. Did they say why they are "making" you get married on the beach..were the other locations already booked? I assume you aren't too thrilled about any of this?
