  1. OMG! You are so on top of things! Here's my to-do list: Find (& purchase) reception flats - (I already have my "wedding shoes" aka barefoot sandals for the beach ceremony) Pick out (& purchase) Jake's wedding clothes and shoes Finish ordering OOT items that we are going to stuff the cups with Decide on wedding favors and order Choose music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception Purchase an alternative guest book Get marriage license and get legally married at the court house (we are also getting legally married in secret) Finalize our menu Design place cards Write ceremony & vows (both of use dislike the one provided by the resort) Get my e-ring cleaned Purchase gifts for moms and bridal party Purchase starfish garland for wedding arch Pick out a dog sitter Am I missing anything? lol
  2. @@SteeleTheSpotlight - Please share what you think of the robes from silkandmore when you receive them
  3. That seems a little ridiculous. Why does it matter?...maybe it has to do with staffing?
  4. @@hsocorso - I'm getting married on the beach. I'm not a big fan of the gazebo and how close it is to the pool. Honestly, I think it's personal preference. The beach can be windy, but I'm not worried about it - I'm having a complete up-do since my hair is so fine and I don't want the curls falling from the humidity, and I bought veil weights (although I've decided against a veil and am going to have a hair flower). As far as switching features from the package to other options - do you mean transferring services? I read that they no longer do that. However, Natalie said they worked with her on a few things... so I guess it never hurts to ask.
  5. @@smileitseb - That's exactly what I did (going through the forum for the script)! I was going to use the Spa, but I am skin is so fair that I'm afraid I'll look ridiculous. Yes, I looked into Styling Trio... cha ching! I just couldn't do it, so I've been communicating with some other vendors.
  6. @@smileitseb - Anytime I think I am close to being finished, something comes up! lol But, that's mostly with things that I want to bring to decorate. We are still working on writing the ceremony and vows (I really didn't care for the script the resort uses). We also need to decide on music. Other than that, I think the big things are taken care of. Are you getting your hair and make-up done at the spa? I can't wait for Natalie to get back and share her wedding day with us!
  7. Beach Wedding Cake Topper Beach Wedding Cake Topper Cake topper - etsy - LandscapesNMiniature Pam is wonderful to work with! I am anxiously waiting for my cake topper to arrive. Pam messaged me and said to let her know if there is anything I don't like. I'm sure I'll absolutely love it, but wow! Talk about customer service! Bridal Hair Piece with Rhinestone Centerpiece etsy - PetalBlushLove This is the stock photo, I ordered mine in off-white and I'll post a photo once I receive mine. I was referred to Bridgette by another bride, and now I am referring her to anyone interested in a hair piece. I told Bridgette that I have a fitting on March 10th and sure told me she'd make sure I had it by March 1st! Bridgette also sent me photos of fabric to help me decide which color would be best for my dress. Gown Details Getting pinned for first fitting. I am actually using the headpiece Elizabeth by Love Veils and Accessories for my belt/sash. I purchased earrings by Malis Henderson Jewelry. They are teardrop style, and surprisingly not heavy, so I can wear them all day and night. I'll post a photo of them once they come in. Tumblers We ordered ordered blank cups from discountmugs.com. We found a coupon on retailmenot.com so that was exciting. Cups should arrive by March 3rd. I think we are going to purchase stickers from etsy. Mini Beach Balls Fans Both were ordered from http://www.orientaltrading.com. I also used retailmenot.com and got $5.00 off purchase and free shipping. These are supposed to arrive around March 4th.
  8. Will you be my MOH? Purchased from etsy I forgot to post this - This is the card I sent my MOH along with some goodies, of course Beauty update: I decided to booked The Best Moments for hair and airbrush make-up after reading mixed reviews about the Spa. http://thebestmoments.com.mx/our-services/hair-and-airbrush-makeup/ Alternative Guestbook Idea Source: etsy (https://www.etsy.com/listing/176568414/mexico-us-map-art-poster-8x10-digital)
  9. @@Lbrennan0 - Not sure, but gosh I hope not! @@smileitseb - Have you finalized your wedding planner form? I feel like there is no end in sight! We keep going back and forth on ideas and details...
  10. @@kcole123 - No, we've made quite a few changes since we've started working with our WC, so I hope to finalize things soon. We have so much to do, honestly. We moved from St. Louis to Denver Decemeber first, so wedding planning hasn't really been our minds as much. Soooo, it's crunch time! We still have to order favors and OOT items.... How is everything going for you?
  11. I've read that they no longer allow services to be transferred, credited, or traded.
  12. @@nattiegams325 - I wish you blessings and beautiful weather surrounded by friends and family! The biggest congratulations and hugs to you and your HUBBY!!! @@Brod63 - I had to go back several months to find this, but here is the post of our passport invitations http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/77602-our-boarding-pass-rsvps-passport-invitations/ We changed quite a few things, including the QR code to take guests to our wedding website
  13. Both of our parents are divorced...and only our mothers are attending. We were going to make the reception incredibly simple... we're just announcing people and thanking them..and then thanking everyone else for attending. neither of us are very big on the MC-announcing-people-and-walking out to music-sort of thing.
  14. @@beckys98 - That's awesome (eating it the next day)! Thanks for the input, that's kind of what I thought...all of the other things to pack...plus, fear of it getting left at the resort..
  15. Are you bringing a wedding cake server and knife for the symbolic cake cutting? I'm not sure what to do here...do brides typically use the one they registered for (as you would for a local wedding), or because it's a DW, do you use one provided by the resort?
  16. @@TeamArceo - I received the exact same email from David. I believe you can have your own make-up artist, but you will be charged the outside vendor fee. ...I was thinking about looking into some salons and spas offsite then coming back to finish getting ready. I was just going to have 2 extra plates added to our dinner for the photogs (similarly to what people do for local weddings). It just doesn't make sense to pay for day passes for them... I expect the photogs to be taking photos most of the time they are there with us..not going to the different restaurants and using the resort's services, you know?
  17. @@calgarybride2015 - I'm really not sure. I hope it's a mistake because up until now, I have been very happy with the communication, help, and suggestions I have received... @nattiegams325 - Silly question, are you guys bringing your own cake knife and server?
  18. @@ChicVivi - $300 for outside photographer/videographer and $150 for anything else. So....has anyone noticed your planner ading things to your budget planner without you requesting it?... My planner keeps adding things like TTD and private dinners.... WTF? I didn't even ask about these services.... I'm about to have the fiance write them an email in his first language (Spanish) and tell them to stop jerking me around... I am NOT happy.... OR, I might even have his family make a few phone calls to the resort.... UGH
  19. I'm not paying for the day passes...that's ridiculous. They aren't staying at the resort all day...it's not like they are swimming or having every meal there.. So are you guys not being charged this fee???
  20. @@nattiegams325 - They are charging us and external vendor fee AND a day pass for our photographers... that really doesn't make sense to me at all!
  21. @@smileitseb - Thanks! Yeah, it looks pretty much the same as the Ultimate planner document. Looking back, it looks like all of the details are in the confirmation letter, so I think I need to be patient. She has been timely with other emails, it's only been two days...plus, it's the weekend. I am just trying to stay on top of things. But, with us moving from StL to Denver 6 months before the wedding has put me behind planning, ya know? Our WC is Maira
  22. It looks like DRC has updated some things on their website. Thought this would be helpful for some newbies, if they hadn't come across this yet http://www.iceportal.com/brochures/ice/Brochure.aspx?brochureid=ICE7110&did=2589
  23. Does anyone have the planner form and details (from the WC, not the website) specifically for the Dreams of Love package? We had confirmed the Ultimate package, but I am having some seconds thoughts and would really like to compare the two. (I know there is a breakdown on the DRC website, but I've noticed that there are more details on the packages from the WC themselves). I emailed my WC a few days ago, but am getting a little antsy waiting..esp since some decisions need to be made soon. Thanks for any help and insight!
  24. @@nattiegams325 - What time is your ceremony at? @@Matt Adcock - I book you guys (Debora) last year to photography my wedding on April 17th. Our ceremony is at 5:30 and we were going to do sunset portraits at 6. Do I need to try to get all of this changed? I am so confused! http://www.timeanddate.com/sun/mexico/cancun?month=4&year=2015
