@@kmk2016 - It was a lot of fun! Very classy experience overall. Definitely go if you get the chance! I told my consultant under 3k and most of the dresses I tried on seemed to range from about $1500 to $4500. I didn't have any problems pulling out some dresses to try on in that range. They carry some more affordable brands like Maggie Sottero and Paloma Blanca as well. I tried on a few that were more expensive as well (some Lazaros and Monique Lhuillier Bliss), but I think we probably stayed in the more affordable section for sure. It was a bit different from the TV show because I was actually allowed to walk around and "shop" myself. I just showed her the dresses I wanted to try on and she'd take them down for me. They were also all uncovered, and I was able to touch them. The ones that were higher than my cap were ones I actually wanted to try on. My consultant was really great My consultant said the most expensive dress they have is $32000 (!) - it's a Pnina Tournai and if you look at my first Kleinfield store pic, you can see it on a mannequin in the background. It was kind of a huge poufy rosette skirted monstrosity haha

Hello ladies! I've posted pics of my dress on the model, but I finally got around to taking some pics of myself in it. I basically need reassurance that this is still the RIGHT dress for me, because I already have it! My dress is Monique Lhuillier's Sahara. When I first tried it on, I couldn't get it out of my head for days and nothing else I tried on compared. I ended up buying the sample, and luckily it's in almost perfect condition! So the dress is physically in my closet right now. It's very flowy and lightweight, made of Chantilly lace, and will be perfect for Mexico. It's a bit too tight for me right now so I'll have to lose a bit of weight (which I'm fine with - I'm actually a bit more than my usual weight right now), and get it altered. Here is my dress on me and the model: I had booked this Kleinfield at the Bay appointment months ago when I first heard they were opening. I decided to keep my appointment because it's Kleinfield's and I was dying to see it! The store is gorgeous, ladies! For any of you Toronto ladies that are looking for a dress still, the Kleinfield store really is beautiful and spacious. The dresses are all still very new and in good condition (it's only been open for 2 weeks). My bridal consultant was a sweetheart and we had a blast trying on dresses. There was zero pressure, she made me feel comfortable with my lower budget, and I felt completely fine with her even though I was by myself. They had a really good range of dresses - both style and price. I was actually really good at not choosing dresses that were way out of my price range (most of them! haha) and I'm very relieved and happy to say that I still love my dress more than the other dresses I tried on today. HOWEVER, there is one other dress that I also love and feel beautiful in. It's also a Monique Lhuillier but her lower priced Bliss line. It's very similar in shape to the one I have, but the fabric is a silk organza. It's also this beautiful light blush colour Here are the 2 dresses side by side. The one I bought already on the left, and the one I'm kind of second guessing about on the right. This one is still double what I paid for the other one (but less than the original cost would have been) AND I already have my original dress.... so yes, I think I just need reassurance . vs. Thank you!

@@chrisandcassie - Hey Cassie, can you tell me more about the "basic band" you booked? How much was it and what did it entail? My WC just sent us a form of the entertainment, but I don't see anything called that - just mariachi, soloists and guitar My planner just sent me all of these dropbox links with the brochures. The decor ones she sent me were the Zuniga 2014 v2 one and one for Gama 2014 (another company - they seem more expensive). Did you get anything about centerpieces or their entertainment?

Wedding Dress Choice
tygrrlily replied to stefadile's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I like the tea length one better personally! It's very sassy -
How is the planning going, ladies? Just wondering if you've thought of favours yet? Are any of you going to work Christmas/the holidays in there at all?

I've just sent it! That's the weird thing. There's no real consistancy. Some of the prices are the same, then others are higher in either one book or the other - it's not across the board. The string of 10 white lights, for example, is $150 in the 2014 and $100 in the nuevo, but the tiffany chairs are $6 each in the 2014 and $7 each in the nuevo.

@@NJBride2014 - Yes, I'd like to get the right one too. Alejandro who is the Canadian group contact sent me the one entitled Weddings by Zuñiga decor 2014 v2.pdf which is 83 pages. But I also have one called Weddings by Zuniga - Catalogo Nuevo that is 107 pages that I think I got from this forum or on FB. The prices are different in them which is why I also want the right one. I emailed my WC asking for one earlier today

@@chrisandcassie - Thanks for all the info! We just signed our date, and I'm waiting for a WC to get in contact with me so I can start pricing out stuff. I will look into the basic band for sure! Your candy buffet still looked good and I'm sure your guests loved it! Did you like Zuniga? I have 2 different catelogues of theirs, one labelled 2014 and one labelled nueva, and with completely different prices haha. We want to do something similar to what you had with the strings of lights!

Save The Dates - When To Send? What To Include?
tygrrlily replied to angelajackson's topic in Newbies!!
We decided to skip STDs and sent out our invites early, but they are fairly casual. We figured the earlier the better, especially because we're aiming to get married this year, and we're only giving people 8 months notice. We did send out some feeler and info emails first though. We have about 22 people booked so far including ourselves, and we think we'll have bt 35-50 as a final number. We sent out invites to our whole guest list, so we chose something fairly cheap and simple. We'll be sending more in depth info packages (passports?) to the people that are actually coming. I find having a website the best tool! I made ours very in depth so we could just direct people to our website (and our travel agent!), and we don't have to deal with a ton of questions that way . I just used theknot because I was cheap, and I liked the templates they had. I think for a destination wedding, you really can't give ppl too much time!- 23 replies

Favor Ideas
tygrrlily replied to KScheer's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
@@AllieH - Ohh I like this idea! Our wedding is the week before Christmas too, so the timing is perfect -
I'm sorry you had such a bad experience! I just noticed though that your wedding was in Punta Cana? There is also a DJ Mannia in Mexico (and this thread is about him) - I'm wondering maybe if there are 2 different DJs with the same names. Just don't want you to be mistakenly leaving negative reviews for the wrong DJ! I was looking at a few different DJs, but ended up going with DJ Discomovil because of some good reviews and frankly, a very competitive rate! I also liked that he replied immediately and that he has this song chooser on his website so I could see what type of music he has. Our friends are big party animals and love to dance, and I wanted to make sure that he'd have music we like to dance to (club music - EDM). I inquired with a few other DJs, but the music they sent me were not to our personal taste at all

@@acw271011 - Haha I'm not sure. The appointment is this Friday, but I might cancel it. My best friend thinks it's a bad idea because I"m very prone to falling in love with something completely out of my budget, esp when I already have my dress! But I just want to SEE it, you know? I was registering last weekend and I saw the Kleinfield area, but you can't even see IN unless you have an appointment

Are Engagement Pictures Really Necessary?
tygrrlily replied to TinkerSofi's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
So after thinking we didn't need them, I ended up booking our photographer in Mexico to do an engagement shoot when we're there next month for our site visit! I asked to do them somewhere different than where our wedding shots will be - like a small fishing village or near some ruins. Figured it'd be nice to have those shots and that way we can work with the photographer before our wedding -
@@KathyandEthan - We've all been there at one time or another haha. I used to post on EVERYTHING - I think it took me about a week once I put my mind to it.

Toronto Area 2014/2015 Brides
tygrrlily replied to tygrrlily's topic in Canadian Destination Wedding Group
Try to narrow down what matters to you most - cost, ambiance, nightlife, excursions, beach, food, etc. We chose Cancun because we love the beaches there and because we wanted people to feel like they could go off resort easily. We like how there is nightlife nearby (big for us) and excursions/tours for people to do. We looked into Punta Cana as well, and while we liked the actual resorts and wedding venues, we felt like it had less to offer for guess. Resorts were cheaper there, but we felt like Mexico would offer a better time overall. We also ruled out Jamaica purely because I didn't like the look of the resorts there (haha) - that's what I mean by narrowing down what you want! Your TA can also give you suggestions if you tell them what you're looking for. Good luck and happy planning! -
@@chrisandcassie - YES, that's it! Did you have to ask for it or did they just offer it? Is that you? You look gorgeous! Do you have any more pics of your wedding anywhere? The complimentary one on the website looks like this, which I don't like: @@Bella Rios - Woo so exciting! Have an amazing wedding week

@@Linds1204 - Please post when you get your professional pics! Can't wait to see them Also, I noticed for your ceremony at the Sky deck that you had the old style draping. Did you have to pay extra for that, or were they willing to change it in lieu of the current complimentary ceremony decor? I love the old style so much more Thanks!

Fun thread . Love to travel. Our honeymoon will prob be in Japan, Africa or parts of Europe haha - we should really narrow it down 1. Canada (home and other parts) 2. US 3. Mexico 4. Peru 5. Costa Rica 6. Panama 7. Dominican Republic 8. UK 9. France 10. Scotland 11. Germany 12. Belgium 13. Switzerland 14. Italy 15. Greece 16. Austria 17. Vietnam 18. Cambodia 19. China 20. Thailand
