@@shmanderz - Yay more pics! Thank you for posting them and can't wait to read your review!! I loved the jerseys you guys wore on the plane down Quick question. I saw for your welcome party on the Palenque terrace you had the 2 strings of lights which is what I'd like as well. Were those from Zuniga? Did they charge you a set up fee for both days - the wedding and the welcome party? I'm wondering if I can negotiate to just pay it once

@@Bella Rios - Thank you for the review and all the tips!! Very helpful, and your wedding sounds like it was amazing! The 75+ room night concerns me because we are counting on that! I'm going to make sure with our TA too. I also have an email from the Canadian booking guy who sent me that info at the beginning

@@1BeachBride @@kmk2016 - Thank you ladies for understanding and the kind words! It's hard for me to express this in person because I don't want to sound like I'm complaining at all, you know, because I really am happy for her. But yes, it definitely is a mixed bag of emotions. Skype is a great idea. I know some resorts have that live streaming thing so maybe we can try to do that. She is definitely crushed, and she kept apologizing and I told her she has nothing to apologize about!

My fiance feels very strongly about me taking his last name. I'm not opposed per say, but I really really like my name as it is right now. It alliterates . I think I'm just going to leave it for a while, and if he pushes me, I'll maybe change it down the road haha Our names would also sound awful hyphenated, and it also sounds weird putting it in as a middle name, but that's probably what I'll end up doing. I don't have a middle name now, so that could work

This isn't a vent at all, just somewhere to write it down. My best friend / maid of honour is pregnant with her 2nd baby! She just found out yesterday, and they're happy but surprised because they weren't planning on it (their baby now just turning 1). She probably won't be able to come with us anymore in December - I'm ecstatic for her of course, but I can't also help be a bit disappointed. I told her it's fine (and it is!), but I can't help feeling slightly crushed because I can't even imagine getting married without her there. I of course was very positive to her and told her that she has to do whatever is best for her and the baby. She's disappointed as well, and we're thinking about the timing and if she can still fly, but she'll be in her last trimester and probably around 32-33 weeks. Air Canada officially says up to 36 weeks they allow, but it's up to the doctor and the mom. I would not want her to put the baby in jeopardy at all. We're starting to feel a bit sad about choosing a destination wedding and important people not being able to come. We were okay with just having our closest family and friends, but it looks like some of those people won't be able to make it. His groomsman is also a maybe because they're having a baby in September, and they're unsure how the baby will be in December. They're putting down their deposits, but they won't decide until October (when final payments are due). AH - does anyone have any experience/advice with this? I'm trying really hard to stay positive - I know at the end of the day, it all comes down to my FI and I getting married. I'm trying really hard to focus on that and not on disappointments, but sometimes it's a bit hard

Your pics are amazing!! You are one super gorgeous bride. Did you say you did your own makeup? It looks flawless! Please whenever you have time and are back and settled, give us a review of how everything went! The wedding looks like it was stunning. A couple of questions if you don't mind: I want the same white draping you had for the ceremony. Did you just request this? Did you have to pay extra at all? (and for the little chandelier?) Where did you get your florals from, and how much did they cost? I can't remember if it was you that said you were going to use Maya Floral... did you have to pay a delivery fee at all? I love those tall centrepieces too I saw you used the Tiffany chairs for the ceremony and the folding ones for your reception. I was hoping to just pay the 1 fee and have them move the chairs to the reception area - I'm guessing that's not the case? Thank you so much for posting these pics! Please also link us whenever you get your professional ones done! You were a super stunning bride

I actually don't! I'm kind of old school w/ technology. I just copy pics I like and I have tons of pics in folders on my computer haha - I should really learn how to use Pinterest!

Haha - cheers to good taste! I only wish your wedding was before mine so I could steal ideas!

@@JennyAdele - You're so close! I love the Paradisus hotels . Your wedding is going to be gorgeous -
I'm doing coral, shades of pink (fuchsia and blush), a hint of orange, and gold accents. I have my girls in 2 different colour and styles of dresses (1 light pink, 1 coral). Going to try and work the ombre effect so things are less matchy matchy and I don't have to have everything match perfectly. As others have noted, there are so many different "corals" out there!

Sent it over! @@NicoleLV - I'd totally be Bridezilla'ing too! Have you tried emailing her again? From what I've read here, the on site coordinators are great once you get to the resort, but they suck at emailing. Yeah, the pricing for Styling Trio is a lot, but I decided to go with it because I want to make sure I look as good as I can and my makeup lasts the whole day. I'm even getting the trial too. I just scheduled it for before our welcome party and the day we plan on going out, so i can at least "use" it for that - and I want to see how it holds up. Bridal makeup usually costs more than BMs because they spend a lot longer. I've gotten my make up done a lot as a bridesmaid, and they usually do an okay job and maybe do half an hour. For the bride, they always look flawless and usually they've spent over an hour on the bride I'm wondering abotu the strictness of the off resort visitors too. We've been trying to get everyone to book with our group, but it's definitely been a struggle. I can't imagine them turning people away there, esp. since you will be paying extra for it. Maybe if it becomes an issue, just ask one of your other guests to get a day pass for them instead of you (under their name)

We're planning on extending ours for 3 hours haha. Ours comes with 3 hours (1 hour cocktail, 2 hour reception), but that's way too short for us. Our friends love to dance too, and we want our wedding to be a blast. We're only allowed to go to 11, so I can see us heading somewhere after that even, but we want to have a solid 5 hour reception so we can do dinner and toasts, but still have a lot of time to dance a beach after party sounds incredibly awesome! Did you have to pay a lot extra for that? set up fees and such?

I'm getting mine done with Styling Trio. I was also sent pricing info for MVP. Both of these are Palace approved vendors so you won't have to pay for vendor fees or day passes. You can also get it done at the Palace salon and use up to $300 of your resort credits (if you're staying a week). I got sent what's titled the Le Blanc spa list, but I'm assuming the prices are the same MVP HAIR AND MAKE UP.pdf STYLING TRIO PRICELIST 2014.pdf Lista de Precios SPA LE BLANC 2014 PDF.pdf

@@chrisandcassie - Thank both of you, Chris and Cassie. Super helpful. Really appreciate you coming here after your wedding to help the rest of us! The band sounds awesome. We wouldn't be able to afford them for the night either, but I"m going to run the idea by my fiance of maybe having them during the cocktail hour. We'll try to check them out too while at the resort

@@ChristinaL - Apparently the response time is typically bad, but still. 7 weeks seems pretty ridiculous to me. I'd probably send a follow up and maybe add in a question or something to make sure they got it

@@acw271011 - Yeah, that makes sense to wait then. I only had 9 months before our wedding, so I went dress shopping immediately. Beckers is on the Danforth. I made a list of the brands I was interested in, and wrote down Watters, Provonias, Maggie Sottero, Paloma Blanca, Mikaella, Enzoani. Felicha is at College/Bathurst. I wrote down Watters, Martina Liana, Alyne by Rivini. I didn't go to Sophies but I did also check out Sash and Bustle (recommended if you like simpler styles. They didn't have a lot in the shape I like, but if you like more sheath/a-line, they had a ton that were affordable. AND you could take pic! s) and this privately owned one called Camellia uptown because she has a ton of Enzoani which I wanted to try and was willing to sell her samples. I also checked out Dina Alonzi (upscale!) during their sample sale, and that's where I found my dress

@@kokobellaa - I'm doing a site visit end of June! I plan on taking pics and measurements so I'll post here afterwards for sure @@Bella Rios - Glad to hear your wedding went well!! Can't wait to hear more details and see the pics. Not sure if you meant to post a link or some pics, but none showed up

@@acw271011 - They did have some - I don't remember seeing those brands specifically, but I was kind of pinpointing the style/shape I like. I did read that their range starts at around 1500. I think it's worth a look and just to enjoy the experience. The store is really gorgeous I'm not sure if you've done a lot of dress shopping yet, but I had a good experience at that price range with Beckers, Ritche and Felicha Bridal. I said under 2k at those stores and there was a huge selection of dresses! @@DWBride2015 - Thank you!!

Yup you can look at the tags and see the style names and prices! I'm a big try it on then google it person as well! Actually all of the bridal stores I went to here in Toronto were like that. Most didn't allow me to take pics, but they didn't hide any of the style info or price. They wrote down the price and name on a little card for me at all the stores of any dresses I liked. I totally snuck the pics haha - I prob shouldn't have but you really need to see it in a pic to see how it'll photograph. It's not hard to if you're quick and rmbr to turn your phone to silent. I snapped the pics of me in the dress when she went out to get me a belt If you're into high end, check out White and Dina Alonzi when you're in Toronto too!
