  1. Love all the liquor bottle signs! Very cute way to ask your wedding party Excited to see everything you come up with!
  2. @@kcole123 - Wow, things are getting even worse! I was thinking about how you were doing all day. Vanessa just booked my aunt and uncle in Edmonton (!)'s room and flight yesterday. They had to book land and air separate to get the direct flight from Edmonton. The flight is with Transat, and the room is with our group (Air Canada Vacations) Please keep us updated, and especially let us know if Laurielee is able to take you on! I would be interested in this answer as well (for obvious reasons) Oh and re your original question. It depends on your hotel! For mine (Palace), we have to pay an extra $80 per person per private event - we are planning on having 3! So we've been pushing for people to book with us for that reason A bit of clarification for everyone else - We have the same travel agent. We're both very unhappy with her. She was SO GOOD at the beginning. Even my FI was so impressed with her, and some of you guys might remember I was having trouble with my first TA. Well, once we basically went with her, her response time dropped significantly resulting in me emailing her a very direct unhappy email. She has responded and has been better since, but we don't have that hard dead line that @@kcole123 does (we didn't have a deadline at all - we just told people to book immediately and luckily they did)
  3. Good question! I LOVED the way I looked in some of the severe mermaids - but I could barely even walk much less sit haha. But looking in the mirror and seeing what looked like a small waist and nice round hips was very flattering. I found the ones with the corset back the most flattering but uncomfortable. I ended up going with more of a trumpet which I find a lot more comfortable Maybe you could have it laced up super tight for your ceremony and pics, then loosen it a bit for your reception?
  4. That's great to hear! Please post a full review if you get the chance, and any pics you may have
  5. Website looks great and your invitations turned out so well! You did a really good job w/ the booking info and stressing that they MUST book w/ your TA Our website has been a fantastic tool for us. We've been told a lot that the website has been really helpful in answering all questions. I'm very Type A with those things as well, so I put tons of information on it so people could go to our website and travel agent for questions (not me haha) And wow, your rate is super reasonable for Azul Sensatori! I had ruled out that hotel because I thought it'd be too much. Ours is actually higher than yours!
  6. Good luck, Kristy! Definitely keep us updated - I've always been curious about WW My FI is a big health nut, and we try to eat as cleanly as possible (meaning no processed foods, mostly proteins and vegetables - Paleo-ish but without all the rules about stuff like legumes and dairy). We try not to eat a lot of starchy carbs or sugar, though he is a lot better than that than me. I'm not sure what your typical diet is, but if you find that you are eating a lot of "junk" and processed foods, even cooking whole foods and eliminating excess sugar and carbs will probably have good results in your weight and body composition! Our issue is definitely alcohol and eating out - we try to rein it in, but hard at our age and with our friends! I love food and restaurants, so that's a big one for me. And of course with drinking, once you drink, the after drinking poutines and pizzas kill us!
  7. I've looked into WW in the past too and I've had spurts of calorie counting, but I like food way too much so I usually get side tracked. I'd like to lose about 10-15lbs that I've gained over the last couple of years, but I can't bring myself to get on a scale and do regular weigh ins. I don't want to become obsessed with the number like I have in the past! I try to go more by how my clothes fit and how I look naked now haha. Trying to lean up though for my wedding and a week of bikinis, so i'll be following this thread! I'm going to try and incorporate more regular exercise, and healthier eating (my downfall!) I've used the My Fitness Pal in the past. It does work, but again, I found myself becoming obsessed with it, and I usually get lazy after a month or so to input everything. But it did work on keeping me in track, and I found I was working out more so I could have those extra exercise calories!
  8. These are really gorgeous. I like the idea of having a piece of art afterward too Hmm - have to see if we have room in the budget
  9. @@Dreamteam17 - No problem! I've bought and shipped a ton to them over the years and I've never had a problem - they're very reputable and legit
  10. @@Dreamteam17 - I'm going to buy a lot of my stuff off of American sites because it's so much cheaper and the designs are nicer. I ship to a warehouse in Niagara Falls that expressly does this for Canadians haha. It's called CBI USA and it's $5.95 a package and very easy to cross the border and pick up - and save a ton! I've shipped tons of stuff to them. Not sure where in Canada you are, but i know there are a bunch of these along the border.
  11. @@malyna - Ya I thought about this too. If I were having it at home, I'd prob have 4 total but I didn't want to pressure anyone into coming because I know money is a concern. So I was going to have 2 co-maid of honours, but now I'm probably just going to have 1 because the other got knocked up and might not be able to come anymore! I also didn't want to "fill in the spot" for the sake of pictures and evening it out (my FI will have 2) - I just want people up there with me that I'd have regardless
  12. @@Dreamteam17 - I love mint! I'm still thinking about putting a bit of mint in there, but don't want it to be too busy They're coral and misty rose from J crew. I like the mismatched look
  13. @@Dreamteam17 - Oh that's gorgeous! Love it, and agree with no bow in the back
  14. Looks like a lot of us have been dating for a while! We're hitting 5 years this August, and we're getting married in December
  15. @@acw271011 - Love it! Dress is gorgeous, and I actually really love that mint green! The whole look is great
  16. I don't think 1 is too fancy at all for the beach, to be honest. The skirt is still quite small and maneuverable. If you love that one best, definitely go w/ it! It's your wedding The essence version of 3 I tried on looks great in pics, but it had no wow factor for me in person, to be honest. I actually ruled it out at the store because of that
  17. @@chelseapaige37 - They're all very pretty! I think I like 3 best, but I'm biased since I almost got a dress like that! If you like 3 with less pouf, I know there's a Wtoo dress that looks very similar! It's called the Cyprus: http://watters.com/Product/WtooBrides/10311/ I also tried on one like that too but w/ more pouf and a corset back - an Essence: http://www.essensedesigns.com/essense-of-australia/dresses/detail/D1541@@chelseapaige37
  18. Can you post or PM me the price? I'd LOVE to have a churro cart, but our wedding is on a rooftop and not sure how the logistics of that would work out haha. But maybe for our welcome party on the beach?
  19. @@MrsRoy - Oh I love your grey and yellow! That is my absolute fave colour combo. My BMs refused to wear yellow though haha. I ended up changing my colour scheme once I chose a destination wedding because I love vibrant colours against the ocean backdrop. But I still love the yellow and grey! @@kmk2016 - Of course I love it! My colours are fuchsia, blush, coral and a hint of orange with gold accents. Groom and his groomsmen will be in a light gray
  20. @@SamanthaC - Aww, I get it completely. I cried a lot the first week too, and I still get teary when I tell people or think about it. I haven't seen her since, but we've briefly messaged a couple of times. I'm not actively avoiding her, but I think I need some time before seeing her face to face so I can put on my happy face. That's upsetting that your friend told people that you were pissed off and not happy for her. Why can't you be happy for her, but still upset at the same time? I know pregnancy trumps weddings to a lot of people, but that doesn't mean that you can't have legitimate feelings about it too and feel both. Haha yes, we've been talking about this all over the boards!
  21. Are any of you GTA ladies having an AHR? My FI and I are looking into this now. Toronto venues are soo expensive. Anyone have any recommendations for anywhere we could get a Special Occasion Permit and bring in our own booze? We're looking at a guest list of about 100-120 @@shelikespink - Yay on choosing! I'm at Beach Palace but we almost went w/ Moon Palace too! They look like such great resorts
  22. @@NJBride2014 - Great deal! Those dresses are pretty and I like the idea of the bright jewellry
  23. @@chrisandcassie - Gorgeous pics and gorgeous couple!! Thank you again for coming here and sharing all your pics and answering our questions. It's been super helpful Haha love the dance floor convo. We're forgoing one too - figure we'll try to define it w/ lighting too
  24. @@SamanthaC - I'm looking at AHR places too, but problem is everywhere in Toronto is so expensive! We're trying to find a place that we can get a Special Occasion Permit to bring our own booze! No favours I don't think - I didn't even think about that haha. But we're going to try to make it more like a big party instead of a second reception. We want an open bar and dj, but we're prob going to do food stations and hors d'oeuvres instead of a sit down meal. Of course, I'm finding this is about the same cost, if not more with some caterers, than a sit down meal! I'm going to quietly plan this now, but it will depend on our final guest count at our wedding. If we do end up getting a good number, than we'll prob just scratch the AHR. We're going to have an uneven number of attendants. I have just 1 MOH now (there were to be 2 co-MOHs but one is the pregnant one) and he has 2 groomsmen. He worried about the unevenness too, but I can't bring myself to ask someone else just for the sake of evening out the numbers. I don't think I care enough, and i don't want to ask someone just for the sake of it. Haha you girls are hilarious. I actually told my MOHs I wanted a stripper . We'll see what they come up with!
  25. @@shelikespink - Yes, don't spend a ton! I don't think it's worth it either. Mine is a sample - I got it at a fraction of the regular price! I don't think it's worth it either for one day. Not sure if you're open to that, but it's worth the consideration! Also if you check out http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/ you can find used, samples, even NWT! Also check out the replica thread. A lot of the ladies here are getting replicas created! I've heard of Jealous Bridesmaids! I was actually going to make an appointment, but I ended up finding my dress. I'm curious about the Bride's Project - pls post after you go! I was curious about how the quality of the dresses would be
