Sandy, everything is looking really awesome! I can't wait to see it all together. Your ceremony location is stunning - and did I read complimentary white tiffany chairs?? Amazing I LOVE the idea of the dog cut out haha - I think that'll be adorable. You have so many goodies and nice surprises for the guests - I think I would LOVE to be a guest at your wedding Oh and I did a Cuncrawl 2 years ago for a Bach. party. It was super fun! And I have to say it, we had THE hottest guide haha... my single gfs loved him. We are definitely planning on doing another one this time around too

@@BusyBee280 - Oh my goodness, I am SO sorry to hear that. Are you having your wedding at home now? Your date is so soon in November - did you have people already put down deposits? If you do have to move everything, please yes at least have a TTD. The cenotes look gorgeous - that's where I want to do mine Good luck and please keep us updated

We're sending out a pre-wedding mailer passport with more specific info about events and the resort, luggage tags and a "get pumped" cd. I'm working on them now and hoping to get them out by the end of summer. Our final payments are in October, and I think we're only going to have 1 drop out (b/c of pregnancy). I want the people that have put down deposits to get excited and make sure they pay their final payments in October haha

@@TinkerSofi - I would be SO angry if my FI's friends did that. Isn't the point of a DW for everyone to be together?? The wedding day itself is of course important, but it's the whole week that will have memories Have they booked yet? Is there any way you can convince them? It seems so foolish and selfish for what amounts to what - a couple hundred dollars. And they will have to pay for day passes anyway!! Ugh - i hate people sometimes Luckily we only have 1 person that has booked outside of our group/TA. It's my sister, who jumped the gun and booked a 3 day flight and hotel on Expedia. If she had just spoken to me, I would have paired her with someone else for a room and now we're stuck paying her day pass + event fee for 2 other days :S.

The tellers at my local Michael's won't do multiple check outs so I've been breaking up my trips so I can use that 40% code more than once. I think I've gone like 10 times already in the last month which is probably 10 times more than I've gone in the last 5 years haha There's a 20% off sale at Afloral.com on bridal bouquets this weekend if anyone is getting bouquets from them. Code is 20Bouquet

@@calgarybride2015 - I haven't gotten the labels yet. I'm pretty cheap with certain things, and the $20+ shipping fee to Canada for a sheet of stickers strikes me as kind of ridiculous. I tried to design my own and looked into getting them printed here, but my FI said the davet ones were a lot nicer haha. So I am going to order them (I'm fine with the actual price of the stickers) but I'm going to ship them to eiher Buffalo or Orlando when we're there in October @@acw271011 - Thank you! I do hope it comes together nicely I got the brochure for bouquets through the resort and they are ridiculous. Like $300 for a very average bouquet and $20 for a boutineire. I didn't know/think about outside vendors like Maya Floral when I first started planning... I think the flowers were one of the first things I bought for the wedding a couple of months ago. So it is a lot cheaper than the resort flowers (or our resort at least!), but if you want fresh, I've seen some lovely bouquets Marvin has done. I'm not sure about the pricing on them, but he's been reasonable for centerpieces so I'd imagine they'd be fine. I was also somewhat picky in that I really wanted peonies in my bouquet and I know they're super expensive in Mexico, so this was a way for me to get them. I also just really fell in love with Judy's flowers and it was a bit of an impulse buy, but I am looking forward to getting them

@@kcole123 - Ooh I'd still like to see! Post a pic, Kristy! I know you ordered the individualized ones too, right? Would love to see those I debated putting our names on them or not - I know it's obviously better not to so people can use it again, and for other things I'm just doing "Cancun 2014", but I really wanted to put our date on the bags becuase I want it for myself too haha.

The Weddingchicks bags arrived, and they look fantastic!! I am so excited to give these out. i'm tempted to start using one now, but I also want to keep it a surprise for our guests . I got 20 in the peach colour and 20 in mint green (for the dudes) @@calgarybride2015 - Haha I love the rationale! If you do get them, go now! I'm not sure if they're a seasonal item or if they have them year round. I had to go to 3 different dollaramas to get enough tumblers. If you get them, make sure to look them over because some are cracked

60 is honestly a lot for a destination wedding. We had been HOPING for 60, and we got about 40 which seems to be about average... so not to be pessimistic, but as a head's up, 60 might be fine. I'd just be very upfront with my guests and tell them that there are only so many rooms available, and if they want to book, reserve asap. If your heart loves Playacar, definitely choose it. I was thinking about making all of these concessions before for people that ultimately now aren't even coming :S - so I'm glad we ultimately chose the resort we wanted instead of settling. Your wedding isn't until 2016, so I'd imagine the resort is nowhere near booked now.

I think you will know your guests best and what they prefer. Personally the largeness of moon palace was unappealing to us because it's SO large and we prefer more intimate resorts where we can easily spend time together. We went with Beach Palace because we liked the smaller size, but also we liked how it was right in Cancun so ppl could easily go off resort on tours, shopping, nightlife, etc Keep in mind also that you can use amenities at other palace resorts. When we were at Beach for our site visit, there were tons of Moon guests there to use the beach! Likewise we expect a lot of our guests to go to Moon for the day if they want to golf, use the pools, etc. I'm not sure if there's a shuffle to Playacar too, but definitely something to think about I love playacar personally but it was already booked up for our wedding week

Yes I don't love the pillars but im trying to incorporate the centrepieces to get more of a bang for my buck haha. I asked Zuniga what other pedestal options they have I'm picking up our welcome bags from the post office tonight! Super excited to get them but I got dinged with a $39 customs fee bleh

First Dance - Plans For All You Ladies?
tygrrlily replied to KAT2015's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
I think we're just going to dance to a normal song. I like the transition choreographed dances too but they are kind of overplayed and were not good enough dancers to pull it off haha I'm debating on the whole "formality". Are you ladies having your djs mc as well, or someone separate? Wondering about introductions and stuff like that and if it's necessary for such a small wedding party. But then otherwise we'd just walk over from the cocktails? Haha -
Thanks ladies! I have an obsessive personality haha. I just hope it all turns out I got the groomsmen and ring bearer bow ties and suspenders in the mail! They look great! These are from Etsy Sweetnswag - they were one of the cheapest I found there (about $15 a set) Here are the groomsmen ones from The Grunion Shop. Came super quickly from California. Just have to get a plain black one for my FI now I'm debating centrepieces now... thinking of getting low ones through Maya floral because it'll be cheaper for Marvin to drop them off in the lobby. I really wanted the high ones, but I think it'd be quite a bit more. The hotel still hasn't gotten back to me with proper quotes either :S. Looking at one of these, but more in our colours - blush and fuschia pink, coral, creams, hint of orange? Also trying to figure out how I could incorporate the centerpieces into the ceremony. Zuniga has these pedestals I can rent for $30 a piece which is 1 option but would add up quickly. Maybe just 2 at the alter?

@@TheBHolders - No, these are outside vendors. You are only allowed to use your room credits on certain wedding packages through Palace (the Colin Cowie ones). You should google Palace $1500 room credit and you'll see a lot come up about how you can use the credits - you'll see the specific breakdown for weddings, tours, spa, etc. I am really loving this chandelier. I wonder if it's the same one they use for ceremonies, and if I can ask them to use it for the reception as well and just add the standing arch thing

@@NJBride2014 - Haha i'll PM you now. I realised I should have checked with you for Discomovil too! I don't think we bargained enough - I had to fight a bit to get him to even bring party supplies/balloons haha (i suck at bargaining) I emailed Planner1 for a quote too but haven't heard back yet. I'm still entertaining the idea of getting 1 outside company to do florals, rentals, etc. and just pay the vendor fee once,
