  1. So there was a little mix up in our bookings we found out today but it's all taken care of now. When we originally requested our rooms we wanted the Adults Only section of the resort. Found today that the resort had changed and what we originally requested wasn't what we were given. We said we wanted the Master Suite as well but this is room category is only in the family section. So a little confusion but all is well now. The resort has been renovated and my travel was not aware of the change of the resort. When she was there a couple of years ago all was completely different. So the free wedding came only if you booked the Master Suite at the Level and because we changed and downgraded I didn't think we would get the free. But the travel agent ended up getting the free even though we are now downgraded and are booked at the Level Adults Only. But I am much happier now we are booked where we wanted to be in the beginning. And that was the last room left in the Level Adults Only. Rest is sold out. We are lucky in that sense. The resort sent me our itinerary today and break down. It actually makes me feel a little less anxious now knowing that they seem to be pretty organized and on the ball with stuff. Out of all those emails I sent, they actually understood everything I was asking. Anyway, to make matters really sad is that Nathan thinks he has the shingles. He had it once before and he thinks it's the same as what he had before. He went to the doctor today and she said it's either bacterial infection or shingles. So she gave him the meds to treat bacterial infection. He has an appointment on Monday to see how it's going. He is saying tonight thought it's starting to hurt. So yeah I am hoping this is not what he has. It makes me sad that he may be sick while he is in Dominican for a week and I really don't want him to be miserable and not enjoy his time and his wedding. This makes me sad but I am hoping for a better outcome and hoping that it's not the shingles. Fingers crossed.
  2. @@beckys98 don't worry about my planning thread girl. We all share everything on anyone's planning thread. Well I know I have once or twice. So sorry to hear what you have been through. You will surely need the break and the getaway and relax with your husband.
  3. @@pddcmc Oh my do you ever get to the point where you just wish the planning would end...lol I don't feel like these all days mind you. I have things still left to do. But that is no surprise. I have been busy lately but mostly with work and by the time I go to tanning after work, come home and eat supper, then work out, I just don't have the time to get on here. Sad I know. I also have been training a girl at work to take my place while I am gone not there for two weeks. I haven't found anything yet to hold the name cards. I have an idea in my head that I want to buy just like alligator clip thingy's with like seashells or something on them (of course that could stand up). I don't know where to get them thought. I am not a crafty person nor do I care to do anything craft to be quite honest...lol I would rather see something I like, then buy it. If it's good and cheap right now, cause I can't really afford to be spending a whole lot more. I seen name tags also on here form you girls that I have completely forgot about to put on the welcome bags. Just thinking of buying a stamp with thankyou on it and picking up some beachy themed stickers. I don't want to go all out when it comes to that stuff because lets be honest, who will talk about those things at the end of the day. I have realized through this planning process, that the little things are not really what's going to matter. I have also decided to cancel the décor for the boat, just so I could book the extra hour with them. I don't think it will look horrible because the meal, the boat, the water, the beauty of the ocean, the party, the drinks, the people is what the guests will really be talking about that day. SO my list of things left to do went down some what but still have lots left it seems. But most of this is going to be done this weekend. I am off work now after tomorrow, so lots will get done within this next week. - Print off brochures (everything is finalized now with times etc., I have made the changes on the template, I have picked up ink for the printer weekend past. So all I have to do is print. - Gifts for the groomsman - I am going to Edmonton this weekend so I will be looking around, sending pictures to Nathan, and tell him to pick something. - Bikini wax - No details needed - Music list - have been working on this with Nathan (this was his only task by the way). I got him drunk one night and we listened to some music and we started jotting stuff down. You have to do what you have to do. haha - Finish Adventure book/signing book - Nathan's childhood pictures are being mailed to me by his mother (should have them next week), have the paint picked up and stencils for our names. - Get nails done ( appointment is booked) - Print off all receipts ( I have most of this done, just need a couple more printed) - Take out US money Get married legally in Canada (which is April 6th) - Get tags for gift bags Also get thank you stamps and stickers for these - Get name place tags or print off myself for seating arrangements on boat. - Get name place tag holder thingys. - Pick up my wedding dress April 4th - Have to go try on my second dress next week which is being altered. I dropped it off last week but she hasn't started yet. Next week she said it will be ready for me to try on. - Lash extension fill appointment. - Pack So there you have it folks. This girl needs to get some work done in the next 2 weeks.
  4. Oh that's actually Pretty neat. I knew about rolling clothes, too bad that's not what's going to be taking up all the space. Its nice to learn other things that I would have never thought of. @@pddcmc
  5. Leaving for Punta Cana in 2 weeks and wedding day is in 18 days. SO excited. :D :D
  6. @@Meandhim Yeah the more I think about it, the more I should have seating arrangements for guests. I am here at work now and just finished organizing the seating hahaha in two minutes. It seems to be ok and that people will be happy with where they are sitting. It's only for a meal anyway.
  7. @@Meandhim That's a good idea too. I am going to drop into the dollar store after work today to see if I can find anything. Then if not there I will go to Walmart. Not many choices here in Wainwright haha
  8. Do I sit family vs family? Do I sit the parents together and bridal party at their own table?
  9. @@calgarybride2015 I am here on google now and pinterest trying to find ideas that are simple and cheap. And of course panicking at the same time..hahaha Why do I procrastinate so much? I know you will probably come up with something. You have all the great ideas. No pressure....lol
  10. You are so on the ball. I wasn't even thinking about table numbers and stuff. I don't know if I want to mess with that now to be honest. I might just get people to sit wherever. I wouldn't even know how to organize the seating. awwwwww what to do? Maybe I can do place cards and just organize the seating that way. This way people are fighting over seats on the boat. At least then it's all laid out for them. I won't do table numbers I can just put names on cards and put them on the tables. What can I use to hold the name cards though? Something cheap and that won't take up no room cause to be honest I don't know if I have much room left. 2 weeks today and we leave (leave April 13th) and I still feel like I have so much to do. When do you fly out? @@pddcmc.
  11. @@pddcmc I am having my hair up for the wedding. I didn't even question this. I get really warm when my hair is down especially in heat like that. So of having it up will help at all from it becoming a tangled mop, then up it is. I am wanting a loose kind of up do. I like the one braid isn't there going from the front. These are the two styles I like. I like the messy bun and the braid of the first one but love the lift on the top part of the second one. If that makes sense. I also like wear the bun lays on the head of the first one. I haven't booked a trial run. I have Krystie Ann booked for my hair and makeup and I am just leaving it for the morning of and waiting to see her work her magic. Hope this helps you a bit. What are you thinking? Ok I just seen your hair styles posted. A lot of great looks. I like one, three, and five. I just may have to copy those pics and bring them with me, along with mine.
  12. Well Kim, I am hoping this goes for me too. I am hoping that the sand, sun, (and the little bit of champagne I have while getting ready) will relax me. I am a softie though. If someone says as much as congratulations I tear up. Really. I wish there was something I could take to make me tougher. Lol
  13. Yeah I like the shorter ceremony's when I attend weddings. Although I have never attended a destination wedding before. Yea your ceremony was perfect my dear. I almost teared up watching your video but then again I always do. I have no idea how I am ever going to get through my own. From the time I wake up that monring actually. If anyone asks if I am nervous at all that monring I will probably break down. I told my maid of honour that one of her jobs is to make sure I don't cry hahaha full time job ahead of her I'd say.
  14. I think any destination wedding ceremony's last too long. Imagine we do all this planning for a 10 minute ceremony. Haha that's why I am hoping to have one hell of a reception...haha
  15. Yeah and you know something I am finding out (and I just emailed the guy from the boat), that one bride mentioned on a facebook post. If you want to extend she said that the little boat that takes you out there can also take people back to shore if they didn't want to stay that extra hour. woot woot. Now I am happy. I just emailed the boat guy just to clarify it though but wouldn't that be perfect? hehe
  16. hahaha @@Meandhim Yeah you can't have your fiancé and his mother stealing the spotlight hey girl? That's so cute. Yeah my family aren't so huggy and touchy feely kind of people. We love each other and would do anything in the world for each other, but when it comes to hugging and stuff.....nah we don't do those things...hahaha And the funny thing, Nathan's family is like that too.
  17. hahaha Meandhim, The only dance we are doing is the bride/groom. We aren't doing a father/daughter or mother/son just because his mother would be uncomfortable with that and without a doubt my father would. I wanted the boat to be relaxed, not formal, and just a way to celebrate. We aren't doing speeches, just me and Nathan saying a few words to thank everyone for going. We aren't as formal as most...hahaha With regards to music though for the night, we are def. having a mix of everything and that includes a lot of irish/newfoundland music. My fiancé listen to that too having a few drinks on a Saturday night. Yes and I end up having a crying load talking about missing home...hahaha Fiance has too.
  18. @@veryvalentine Thanks. You will love the eye lash extensions and be hooked and not want to stop looking at yourself. I am forever taking selfies and sending them to my sister...hahaha she is like "OMG Kristy, can you give up on the selfies." hahaha Good luck with your appointment today and be sure to let me know how it goes for you.
