@@nikkicraig10 That's actually a smart idea. I didn't think of doing that. I have the deadline sent out for the actual deadline of July 4th. I wish I had to think of that then maybe everyone would have their deposits in by now. How are you doing with it? do you have many people booked so far? how many did you invite?

haha yeah no turning back now. My deposits are only $50 for the guests. And they have until Feb to pay it off and they also knew about the wedding months ago. So it shouldn't be a problem but there are still people that can't afford it, have other vacations planned, pregnant, or just are slacking in paying their deposits. I don't know why they are waiting for the last minute if some people already know they are going, then just put down the 50 bucks already. I don't understand it. Maybe it will be just family there who knows. I have to say that I am disappointed in a couple of people already girl. That goes with it I guess.

@@Rani Dae That's awesome. I also will be using Facebook for information. I failed to make a wedding website so I figured I will just create an event on facebook and make it private and only invite people that will be attending the wedding. I will make the event after July 4th because that's when the deadline is for the deposits. That way it's just as good to communicate with people who are going to the wedding. I find people use Facebook on a daily basis but with a wedding website I don't know if people will even bother with it.

hi kmk2016, I have already reached out to everyone and let them know about the TA information and the deadline. No one seems to be responding though. I don't know if they think leaving it until the last day is ok and it will work but under the circumstances I think it might take 24-48 hours for either of the TA to get back to them. Right now we basically just have our families that have booked. There are others saying that they still have to book but I am not expecting too much at this point to be honest. I am kind of disappointed that people don't seem as excited as we are. But ultimately our families being there will be important to us and they have already booked. My FI is more positive about all this than I am. He says to me "Kristy when it comes down to it, if people can't go they can't go, you can't make these people book and go to the wedding." - Basically it is what it is.

Got in touch in my replacement. Whoever can't reach my travel agent in reasonable time frame, they are to contact the replacement. They should be able to reach someone with the two of them on it. Hopefully it doesn't cause any problems. I can't wait until the deposit deadline to be honest because whoever is booked at that point, is booked. At least my stress levels will be less hopefully when that's done with.

yea the booking of the guests is the most stressful part of all this. Everything else has been fun except for that. My deposits are due in 2 weeks and so far I have 17 people booked. We had like 80 something people invited (40 something couples) but we don't expect all those people. Out of those 17 it's only family so far on both sides. We have no close friends booked yet. I feel I will be probably be disappointed. I try not to be and have more of an open mind and positive outlook but sometimes it's just hard ya know especially when you yourself would do everything possible to be there for your friends wedding but I guess some people don't look at it that way.

Yeah thanks @@kmk2016 This is the most stressful part about this whole thing is the booking part. I have not had much luck with this travel agent really anyway. She was awesome at first until she had us hooked on her sell. Then of course we put our deposit down and as soon as we did that, then she was non-responsive most of the time. I think I have to start gathering everyone's email address and start notifying people. I am afraid too that with the replacement she will be probably be taking on extra work because of my TA's absence and she will get overwhelmed and my guests won't get quick responses from her either. I think it's ridiculous that I got this information in an auto response this morning and she didn't let her clients know about her absence before this. What a horrible way to find out.

Hi Ladies, I am hoping some of you can give me some advice. Here is a brief lay down of what is going on: I spent a lot of time emailing different travel agents to see which ones would be best. Anyway the travel agent I now have was fantastic at the beginning and was very quick with her responses and very helpful. But I found as soon as we chose her for us and our groups travel, she was not as responsive. Then I emails her this morning to only get an auto response back saying she is out of the country until Aug 4th and that her response times will be less and may take her longer to respond than usual. My groups deposit is due on July 4th and not a lot of people has booked yet leaving me to think they will probably wait until the last minute. I am nervous now thinking that people will be frustrated and go elsewhere and book on their own. In her email she had given a name of another person to contact for emergencies. My question is do I switch to this person? If so, how do I contact and let my guests now because I don't have a wedding website to update those things. I also don't have everyone's email address? I really regret now not having a website. I didn't think I would run into this issue at all. What would you do?

I have a new stress. I emailed my travel agent this morning to get an update on who has booked. Gets an auto response back saying she is basically out of the Country until Aug 4th. My deadline for deposits are July 4th. She did mention that her response time will probably be longer than usual. She had someone else contact information in there for immediate responses. I have a little issue now. Would you suggest forwarding everyone on to this new travel agent? I don't have a wedding website either. I wish I had done one now because there seems to be a lot of updates and stuff. Would you girls suggest just putting it on facebook for those invited and want to put down deposits? I could email people but I haven't got everyone's email address either. I would have to get that. HELP What would you girls do?

@@marinah84 I have the same thing. Nathan for some reason thinks we are able to take our dog to the resort. He keeps asking me to check and I keep telling him the same answer. They won't allow it...hahaha He is totally sad too. So I have a duplicate of our dog on our cake topper as well.

I also am getting married at a resort I have never been to before. I am getting married at the Melia Caribe in Punta Cana. I have also never been to Punta Cana or Dominican in general for that matter. I based my decision on pictures of past weddings, what they offer, and pricing. It seemed like it was a good fit for us so I went with it. I check trip advisor all the time too but keep in mind no matter what resort you chose, there will always be negative reviews in there.

I used My Fitness Pal too but I tend to cheat saying "going over a few calories won't hurt". Then I get on the scales to find out I gained weight. I am hoping WW will motivate me because I don't want to be embarrassed when I go for my weigh in with the scales showing I gained weight. I am hoping that will help me. I am looking forward to it as well to go every week and hear tips from other members. You also have access to online once you are a member and have access to a lot of recipes. Right now I have no idea what to be cooking for dinner's. If it's fast it's usually unhealthy. Maybe they will have recipes with healthier choices but still good too. I will post my progress on this too once I start.

I haven't joined yet but I know what it's about mostly because of my friends that have joined. They have a meeting once a week where you go and they discuss their week and you get weighed in. You don't have to go to these meetings but for me I can see it being helpful. I don't want to get weighed in and only to have gained weight. Espcially with someone there standing over the scales with you...lol

hi @@acw271011 There are points for all foods. The better you eat of course the lower the points are. You have so many points in a day to use according to what you weigh. Say you may have 25 points per day. Then you can eat what you want as long as you don't go over them points. When you join, you will get a book to go by with all the foods listed. Whatever is not listed you can go online and find a weight watchers calculator. I can't remember what they calculate but I think it's fat, fibre, and something else not sure what it is. It's good because it teaches you to eat healthy if you want to eat more throughout the day as long as you don't go over the points. Say if you eat a happy meal at mcdonald's then I think your points are pretty much used up for that day and can't eat anything else. That's pretty much how it goes.

HI There, I am starting Weight Watchers on Wed, June 18th. I am hoping to lose 20-25 in 5-6 months. I am hoping this is something I will stick to. Then when I lose I am hoping to just maintain it with My Fitness Pal or something. I find I need something that has some guidance and tracking of what I am eating. Have any of you ladies tried this program? Have any success stories for inspiration?
