  1. Well, I didn't make it to my second dress fitting. I was so sick this past weekend that I had to call and let them know I couldn't make it and had to re-book. I so didn't want to do this because I knew I only have 56 days now until the wedding. So they got me in for my second dress fitting now March 5th and the final dress fitting is a week and 2 days after that. Oh my I am feeling nervous because my second dress fitting was to measure for the hemming. Hope it all works out ok and that they have plenty of time. Nothing new happening here. I am still waiting to send off my paperwork to the resort. I figure I will do that in the next couple of weeks. They seem to be in no rush for it. Not much else happening in the way of planning other than have to still get the groomsmen's watches, all the appointments I have lined up, and emailing the resort. I started tanning two days ago. I hate tanning beds/booths just because I have done it so much in my early 20's and really regret that. I haven't done it now for a long time and it makes me nervous. I figure I would do this just to add some colour and so I won't burn when I step on the resort and especially because I have 4 days there before the wedding. Hope everything and all planning is going good for everyone else. Will keep you posted if anything new comes up.
  2. OMG just came across your planning thread. How did I miss this? Anyway congratulations on your wedding/marriage. Wish you all the best. Can't wait to see a review and some updates of your big day.
  3. Awesome planning thread. I was actually waiting for it...lol Keep it coming.
  4. wow I have been a little behind in reading your thread. I am all caught up now though and what a great job you have done with everything. You did amazingly well with planning your wedding and keeping everything organized. I cannot wait to see your pictures. It won't be long now you are getting so close. Your eyelash extensions turned out great. I decided to book an appointment to get them done too. I am nervous but excited to see how they turn out.
  5. @ Yeah I ordered my wrist coils but haven't got them yet. Hopefully they arrive tomorrow. I am always anxious when I order things. I want it like ASAP....haha Yeah I have been winging it until the point where you can't no more. I kind of been neglecting the budget until it came time to actually sit down and find out what it is you have to pay. When you get closer to the date you will start to figure all that out. You still have a few months away so don't stress about it yet. @@Meandhim Yeah I keep saying to Nathan "this wedding we are having here, just pretend it's not real." "just think of it as paperwork that we have to complete before going down south." I really don't want a big deal either. I will most likely not be wearing anything too fancy just because I don't want it to feel like a big deal. Even though it is I suppose...lol but Punta Cana is our wedding date and our anniversary date.
  6. @@calgarybride2015 I am deciding on April 6th to get married legally here. That is exactly a week before we depart. What do you think? Think that is good or should I give it more time in between?
  7. Yeah I don't know. We are also across the Country from any friends or family too which makes it harder. They are in Newfoundland and I am in Alberta. SO for witnesses, the officiate said she could provide them for us if need be. I would rather do that because the couple of people I have met since we moved here, I wouldn't ask just because we aren't that close. Just acquaintances. And I think it would start making it feel like more of a deal if we had witnesses we knew....lol
  8. OMG girls. Shit is getting real now. I just spoke with a Justice of the Peace to make arrangements for our legal marriage before we leave for Dominican. She is going to email the information and then I let her know the date and time I want. I feel so guilty doing this without my family knowing but this is how we wanted it in the beginning in order to have people come to our "wedding" down south. I am trying not to think of it as a big deal to get married here and have our wedding down in Punta Cana as our official wedding. I just think of it as the paperwork here. I don't want a big deal made of the one we are having here it's just to get the process started for our down south wedding.
  9. I used cardstock for both the key holder cards and also the welcome brochure. I purchased the cardstock at Walmart.
  10. Hey Girls, I thought I would share some of the items I purchases/created lately. First are cute little note pads that I had not planned on but thought they were very cute when I seen them. Thought they would go nice in everyone's welcome bags and best of all they were really cheap. They came in packs of 12 for $2.50. I bought three packages. Next are sunglasses I bought. I was originally thinking maybe I could purchase sunglasses at maybe a dollar store for like a $1 but who was I kidding. I couldn't find them that cheap anywhere and not the ones I wanted. So I just bought sunglasses for the bridal party because they were around $8.00 each. I bought the black for Nathan and White for me and I thought the aviators would be cute for the bridal party. I think they girls will love theirs because they also have coral as the handles as well. Next up is the girls jewelry. I was not happy with the jewelry I had bought for them and felt I thought it just seemed cheap looking. I didn't want to spend a fortune in jewelry for the girls but I didn't want it to look to cheap looking either. So I used the box from the original jewelry I had bought and purchases some new jewelry. I paid less for these ones then the other original ones I had bought. Claire's had an awesome sale on for all jewelry for $5. So I bought three sets. they came with the necklace and these pretty drop earrings. I think these look much better than the other ones I had bought. Next up is the tip holders I created. As stated in an earlier thread, I found a template that I thought was super cute to place in the holders. I haven't received the coil rings for them yet but I thought I would show you how these turned out anyway. I will take a picture of all of it put together once I put the bags together. I purchases luggage tags at Party World for myself and Nathan. I ended up buying two sets just because that's probably the luggage we will end up carrying. I thought these were really cute as well. And lastly, my welcome brochure. I again used a template that I seen either on this site or a Facebook page. I edited the template to the resort that I am going to and my own timeline of course. I love this welcome brochure and think everyone will find it very useful. Especially with the map on there. The resort is huge apparently.
  11. Hahaha Kim yeah your photo along with some others gave me the idea of the sunglasses. They look so cute in pictures. I bought mine at Claire's. I was hoping to get sunglasses for a $1 but no luck (and I would have given them to the whole group) but instead I bought them for $5 each and bought only for the bridal party.
  12. Well girls, I am exactly 67 days out from the wedding. I should probably update what I have done since I last posted. I ordered my second dress yesterday. They say it takes about a month to get here. I am hoping and praying that it will fit when it gets here. I will keep you all posted on that when I get it. Actually I will try it on and post a pic once I recieve it. I have also used a template that I found on not sure if it's this forum or if it's a Facebook group I am on. But I made the welcome brochure based on the resort we chose and has our timelines in there as well. And most importantly has a map of the resort, which I expect will be used because the resort is huge. I have confirmed and final numbers now from my travel agent of who is going. I have 29 people, included kids and myself and nathan. That is awesome and I am happy about that. I originally thought it was going to be around 35 people so less is good too. (Especially when budget is a concern). I purchased sunglasses for the bridal party, put together key card holders, I purchased jewellery for the bridal party, I have yet to purchase watches for the groomsman. I may do that this weekend. I am looking for something around $120 as that is what I spent on each bridesmaid. Things I have yet to do: Purchase Marrige Liscence Contact a Justice of the Peace (we are getting married before we leave and it's our secret, family or friends do not know this. I imagine if they did we would probably have mayge 5 people at our wedding.....lol) Contact and send paperwork to resort Contact La Barcaza with final numbers. I have two dress fittings coming up Get nails done Get eyelash extensions Start tanning Contact Carribbean Celebrations with final numbers for set up of centre pieces on boat. Contact who I can (vendors) to see what payments I can make before I leave for Punta Cana. Get my engagement ring cleaned Get my immunization needles (I am getting them done in 4 days) Purchase watches for Groomsman Purchase (at Dollarstore) kids items for their welcome bags. Purchase Lingerie for the wedding night (Pink Fuzzy Pajamas will have to be put away for this night...lol) Purchase some little thing for our parents. OMG when doing lists, there is still so much left to do. Cross off one at a time. I am sure I am missing some things too.
  13. @@TinkerSofi, Yeah i believe my best option is the dollar store or something because I don't need that many. I only need 35. So it would be a post to pay for shipping for only 35 and if I don't get some sort of a deal with only getting the 35. So yeah dollarama it is.
  14. Yeah that's way better. I checked on discount mugs and they were $.99 a pair. But when I put it shipping it cost like an extra $63 which I think is crazy for just $35 sunglasses. So the dollar stores is where I will have to go.
