Is anyone having a welcome reception for their guests? I want something informal and with drinks and appetizers. I requested it at the jacuzzi but it is not available when I want it! My coordinator offered the Mexican restaurant with tables together but I didnt want it to be sit down. I know @@nattiegams325 is having a sit down dinner but I wanted to know what everyone else is doing? and where?

@@desmiv We are so excited about being there around cinco de mayo and a lot of my guests are staying thru that day but I've heard Mexicans don't even really celebrate it lol Yes I'm SO SO EXCITED!!! I was assigned Elisa, she is very nice. We are in the beginning stages right now so I am just telling her my requests and getting her prices then adjusting as necessary (i.e. who knew sequin tablecloths were SO expensive lol)! But so far, so good. In the beginning it was hard for me to really estimate the number of people coming so I didn't go with one of those packages at the larger resorts (like the palace resorts that give you free wedding events for over 75 nights booked).....I'm way over 20, will probably end up at like 40 over but I still think I made the right decision in resort. When is your date and when will you decide by? maybe you could stick with DRC, but just cut back on certain things.

so I just started working with my coordinator and it's stressing me out. the budget planner David sent me in the summer of 2014 i guess is outdated so I've been doing my budget off of lower numbers than the actual numbers. frustrating!! and everything is so so so expensive, all my requests. the costs are building and building. feeling super discouraged but hoping it will work out.

@@AyeWatSoon my wedding is at 5 (not sure if that's the time you mean by late wedding) but I feel like i will have breakfast, relax, start really getting ready at 12. i dont want to plan anything in fear that i will get overwhelmed!

@@nattiegams325 I've seen varying prices for the outside vendor fee....is it $150 or $300?

@@TauniaS Yes! congratulations first of all Do you have pictures?? Where did you get married? Where was your cocktail hour? Where was your reception? Did you have a welcome reception/rehearsal dinner? Who was your coordinator? Anything you can share will be a great help!!

Have you guys been sending pictures from pinterest of what you want for your decorations? I'm finding myself sending a lot of pictures to describe exactly my vision because I usually like 1 thing from picture 1 and another thing from picture 2 etc. Didn't know you if anyone had found a more efficient way?

@@LauraM So I thought it seemed awkward too so I'm just opting to save that champagne for my bridal party while we are taking pictures while the guests are at the cocktail hour before the reception.

@@Lbrennan0 oh yes, I see that special, I just reminded my fiance' because he's in charge of booking the honeymoon! and I'm really pushing for that 2 story it looks SO AMAZING!!! but honestly whichever room he chooses at that resort i'll be a happy girl @@desmiv @@Dec2015 I know it's tough girls because every little thing adds up AND for us at least, people will come that u least expect, thus adding to the additional guests beyond 20 costs..... just try to think about what you really really want and what you can do without! for instance, I really want videography so I'm foregoing the dance floor. which I think will be okay because I've looked at several pictures of pool deck receptions...... hang in there!!!

My wedding is in May too and I'm trying to figure out the timing of when I should! @@calgarybride2015 wow I was planning to get my maracas from Maracas Mexico this whole time because I really want them personalized but buying the cheaper ones from Amols and then using a sharpie to personalize ourselves I think is a really great idea!!

@@jhercule I've heard not so great things about destinationweddings.com but I definitely think you should get a travel agent! I feel like travel agents are a lot more patient in terms of questions. Also, many offer payment plans unlike the resorts. And, you can find a travel agent locally who speaks English as his/her first language. Love our travel agent because she has been able to customize different packages and help my guests with any travel questions they have! My travel agent is Teresa Stauring, one of the moderators from here recommended her. She's part of Wright Travel, specifically under the company name Vacations4Less.

@@MissFrench Our wedding is Sunday and arriving Thursday. Most of our guests are arriving Friday!

@@jeffandrobyn I sent ours out at the beginning of December with an RSVP date of January 15 and only got a few back back by the deadline lol. But, I did not ask or expect any of the guests that have already booked to send back the RSVP because their booking counts as their RSVP. I sent a reminder to send the RSVPs back to me on the deadline to the people who haven't so they are finally trickling in. I made my RSVP deadline Jan 15 because I start to get penalized for cancellations in my room block after Jan 26!

How did your guest polaroid book turn out @@Chrysta? I am thinking about doing the same!
