  1. @@calgarybride2015 omg i didnt even think of immunizations? i didnt think you needed any of that stuff to go to mexico??? i leave in 30 days!!
  2. @@yasminea84 yes, I bought it at joann fabrics.
  3. The only reason I didn't do Amols is because I really wanted them personalized. I know brides have written on the Amols one themselves but I don't like my handwriting. Now I'm stressed out about these! I hope they arrive to our resort without any problems.
  4. @@JenniferH114 Those are good points, I actually didn't think of that. At this point I'm going to hope for the best Hope you find the favors you like!
  5. @@JenniferH114 I sent it via MoneyGram. And they did flag it for me too and I had to call them and answer all these questions but since I had never used MoneyGram, I thought that was standard when sending money to another country. My coordinator and the other bride (I will find her @ on here in a sec) both said they were fine (other than the issue I mentioned) and my resort has had them deliver several times before, so I'm thinking it's okay. I'm hoping at least This is @nattiegams925 review: Maracas: I got the multi-color maracas from Maracas Mexico with personalization on the back. We ordered 45 but only received 40. I was pissed. I'm not a mean or confrontational person, but I sent a nasty email to the company. She blamed Claudia for not checking as she had received it 2 weeks prior. While I think Claudia should have checked, they still sent the wrong amount and at the end of the day, it was their mistake. I was going to pursue a refund for the 5, but determined $12 wasn't worth the effort. The maracas themselves were great and Claudia miraculously had extra maracas in her drawer that she wrote "Natalie and Bill Riviera Maya February 23 2015" on the back like the personalized ones. People didn't even notice.
  6. @@JenniferH114 I ordered my maracas from there for my May 3 wedding. They are delivering directly to my resort. Another DRC bride got married there in February and she really liked the maracas. However, they did not send all of the ones she ordered (I think they were missing 5 or so) but I've read other reviews and that seemed like it was an isolated incident.
  7. @@Sheaka The only thing I'm having sent to the resort are my favors, maracas from Maracas Mexico because they are already in Mexico. I've read so many times that mailing things to the resort is not recommended.
  8. @@SchroederWedding2015 yes I'm using the resort, doing a trial run when i get there and some of my friends are good at makeup if i have some sort of disaster. Styling trio just isnt in my budget. But I've heard great things from them!! I would quote the prices to them of what youve seen on this site, hopefully they will negotiate. @@desmiv yes I really do, quality is great. CV linens wasnt the cheapest, I saw tablecloth factory or something had lower prices but their reviews were horrid
  9. @@SchroederWedding2015 chargers and chair organza fabric came from CV linens! much cheaper than the resort was quoting
  10. @@tygrrlily LOVE the idea of your meet the guests cheat sheet. Where did you have those made?
  11. oh wow I'm wearing the same exact skirtfor my shower saturday !
  12. I'm pretty sure I'm going to do a travellers check from another bank. Thanks for all the input guys!!
  13. So my WC said they don't take wires or paypal, only cash, travelers checks or credit cards.
  14. @@Janjin I will definitely ask if paypal is an option. I may just break down and apply for a capital one card, hopefully the credit line will be large enough to cover the wedding
  15. @@Janjin If you figure out a way, let me know
  16. Has anyone ever tried to wire the wedding costs to the resort? Or is everyone just using a debit/credit card? I've been planning to use my debit card but the 3% fee is significant and I'm trying to avoid it. I thought about a travellers check but my bank (bank of america) no longer has those. I know capital one doesn't charge foreign fees but I dont have a cap one, only an amex which also charges the %
  17. @@Dec2015 I thought about those exact bags but did not like the colors so I got silver paper bags from Michaels. Ordered my maracas from Maracas Mexico and they are delivering to DRC for me.
  18. @@Dec2015 I know my guests, and those fancy OOT bags would never be used again after our wedding weekend lol. and not used at all by the men. So I don't wanna spend money on the actual bag. I just got pretty little paper bags and gonna put tulle in it with a cute label that I DIY!
  19. I wanted to share all the goodies that were delivered yesterday!! Advil, sunscreen, hand sanitizer for my welcome bags, mirrors to go under the candle centerpieces, votive candle holders, silver chargers and organza for my chairs!! Making progress slowly but surely. I wish I didn't have to take so much but the prices DRC charges definitely make it worth it !
  20. Thanks for sharing your list! We made good progress with the reception playlist this weekend but now we gotta figure out order, which I've found is just as important
  21. Are yall just handing your coordinator your debit/credit card to pay? Or paying in some other form? I don't know what's the best way with fees and everything... Also, do you know if the aisle runner is included? I don't see it on the budget spreadsheet.
  22. @@pddcmc thanks for your detailed list it reminded me of a couple things I need to get on! 2 questions: 1) you are putting your reception menu on the welcome letter, are you doing this in addition to menus at dinner? I'm pretty sure im not getting menus printed for dinner....also what dinner did you decide on? I think we are doing the BBQ buffet but I am still undecided! 2) what's your chalkboard going to say?
  23. @@pddcmc I keep getting so many ideas from you! loving the signs Planning for me, still feels like i have a lot to do, like get our marriage license, get married, get bridesmaid jewelry, arrange transportation from airport, finalize music, finish our vows, finish ceremony script, finalize wedding day timeline, finish welcome bags, have my final dress fitting andddd buy more cute bikinis LOL. it feels like tons to do!!! but im working thru it slowly but surely.
