  5. @@Lbrennan0 no but THANK YOU for reminding me. gonna get them at lunch. i really should have taken off the whole week!!! do that brides i feel like im going stir crazy plus im sick all of a sudden. sore throat, running nose, watery eyes. this board has been so helpful !!!
  6. @@phdtck1 she's giving me the electric candles for free so still going to take my votive candle holders but she's providing the candles and I'm leaving mine at home
  7. @@Sheaka I leave at 6am Thursday. Whatever I don't have at this point I just won't have but thank you girl!
  8. @@Sheaka thanks for telling me about the candles. I emailed Elisa and she said she told me that only battery candles will work not the regular kind. But I know she didn't. I am a very thorough person and I would have remembered and certainly would not have bought my votives nor candles if she really told me this! Literally everything is stressing me out right now *woosah*
  9. @@Sheaka lol well thats not what i was told nor what i was charged for. im having my reception on the deck and she charged me for floating candles and she knows im bringing my votive candles!
  10. @@pddcmc im confused as to why they wouldnt allow candles? im bringing tea light votive candles and also rented tall vases for floating candles at the resort. like a major part of my centerpieces........................ did you and your fiance now HUSBAND take a lot of pesos down? I'm trying to decide how much to bring......just need some for when we go out maybe and our excursiions
  11. @@phdtck1 I am still up working on the tags lol. I think I'm gonna say something simple like "Shake for the newlyweds' send off!" Unless you girls know of something more creative? And I'm not having table numbers. I may print off a chart though to show people where they are sitting. Also for a cheaper option, I ordered tumblers from dollar tree for $1 each
  12. @@phdtck1 I got the fans from oriental trading and the ribbon from michaels. I decided against doing programs or menus and put that money elsewhere !
  13. @@pddcmc did you have any issues at customs ? I am packing now and don't have some of my receipts.. how many bags did you end up taking? I'm on suitcase 4 and I have 1 box (I decided the best way to pack the tumblers was in a box).
  14. One of today's many projects...I probably should have started a planning thread but too late at this point
  15. @@phdtck1 the original multicolor...the cheapest lol Like the one in the pic I showed you! I looked at those other designs UNTIL I saw the cost per maraca
  16. @@pddcmc you looked beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. The WC not being on it is kinda concerning but I'm so glad in the end it all turned out great. I'm going to print out everything because we have gone back and forth about so many things. How did you transport the sound system? That saves so much money and I really wish I would have went that route but now I think it's too late for me to order it. Where did you get it? And who did you have controlling the music? @@phdtck1 so I was never having a cocktail hour on our wedding day. I'm just having our guests go to the lobby bar while we takes pics. I was always planning to pay for our welcome cocktail so honestly I'm not really I'm not really let down that they said no because I never expected a yes @@Sheaka I couldn't find yscampbell...you're not under your first and last name on fb?
  17. @@fhk815 I asked my WC and she said I'm not eligible . But I hope it works for you. She did however give me lower prices on certain things, specifically the lighting and the extra hour we added to our reception and some signs she's printing for us.... Mainly because I told her things I REALLY wanted and told her my budget that had a strict limit and she made it work! I really like that layout you are getting!!!! Oh yea and she didn't charge me for the buffet dinner and I heard the new brides have an upcharge if you want buffet? So I am thankful for the things they have discounted
  18. @@Lbrennan0 that dancer cruise looks like SO much fun! and no we havent booked any excursions yet, im trying to still get ready for the wedding LOL. we will most likely book when we get down there, my fiance is very very lowkey and works nonstop so i didnt want him to feel like the honeymoon was something we had to follow a schedule to everyday. but i definitely want to go swimming in a cenote (thats my favorite!!!!!!!!!) and go ziplining and parasailing and go to the ruins
  19. @@phdtck1 GIRL yolo has been my whole mindset in this planning process, hence the BLOWN budget lolol yea i couldnt believe the AUDACITY. it was mindblowing bc i always wrongly assume people have the same courtesy as i do. but no, one girl straight up told me shes bringing her kids and that shes sorry.... oh? no you're not sweetie. now im the bad guy and she decided to stay home. ok cool! the show will go on!!!! and no the bride with the 175 guests is not local she lives in the states somewhere! i mailed out the survival guide because i feel like mail is less likely to be overlooked than email, especially by the older people. people were so happy to get it!
  20. @@fhk815 hey girl! yes im sooooooooo excited! I'll definitely post pics and a full review when we get back!!! wow, another very similar bride! youre the first person ive heard having a welcome cocktail party at the jacuzzi too Also, have about the same number of guests, awesome! no, I am not having a certain set up , we are just going to be there lol. i didnt want to spend any more money honestly but i thought about the tiki torches. i dont even know what the chocolate rattan set up is? do you have a pic? now you have me rethinking should I do a set up lol. I'm having all my guests wear all white for it and I figure that is enough "theme", im hoping so at least i thought about the sound system but i have a very chatty group so i think we will just be talking and happy to see each other ! i want to incorporate some sort of ice breaker but im not sure what yet. just so people that dont know each other or dont know anyone else will mix and mingle with everyone else! I chose the following: roasted pepper and parmesan panini, shrimp satay, stuffed mushrooms, fish croquette, and spring rolls did you get the free cocktail hour? i hope you did since i didnt @phdtck1 my TA said to check with my WC but most likely they wont honor it because it wasnt a promotion when i booked. i asked my WC, awaiting a response. the worst she can say is no! @@Lbrennan0 honeymoon triplets!! OMG that was my life but i have to admit i love getting packages at the door. my list got longer and longer too because i would get so many ideas from this group and the facebook group. like for instance, i JUST decided to make menus because i saw these really pretty DIY ones lol. adding it to the list. i love that youre having a welcome beach cruise, i wish i had planned better for that. please post pics! they didnt ask for a downpayment but i just wanted to pay a lot of it before i left. i paid for the things that i know wouldnt change. but i didnt pay for things like sparklers and lighting for the reception and other small extras that i may cancel if it rains (but the current forecast is sunny skies THANK GOODNESS) so ill only have about 15-20% to pay when i get there which makes me feel better for some reason, dont ask why LOL
  21. @@srundle1 I'm getting married at DRC and so I am a bit partial but I heard NOW Jade is nice too! I would think at this point considering your timeframe, you should see which resort has availability (for your wedding and guest rooms) because DRC sells out! Happy planning!
