  1. @@nattiegams325 When you went for your site visit, did you get a reduced rate for the room, if so how much was it and who did you speak with? I just emailed David Carillo but wanted to make sure I was contacting the right person.
  2. I'm having the same issue....my guests dont seem to get the urgency lol. My resort is selling out (the cheapest rooms are completely gone) and some people have just completely disregarded my first deadline of Oct 1. They just got their invitations with the 2nd deadline of 12/31 so hoping they will get on it because I have to drop rooms next month to avoid a penalty. Its just tough because I don't want people to feel like I'm bugging/nagging them and rushing them but i am haha. And also I dont want anyone to feel embarrassed because they are waiting til they can afford it for financial reasons. Best wishes brides!!
  3. Got 10 more rooms added to our room block thank goodness! A little more expensive for our guests but so glad there were more rooms available. It was really stressing me out
  4. @@nattiegams325 oh goodness. that sounds ridiculous!!! I'm anxiously awaiting the coordinator to contact me because I'm so nervous about the nickel and diming!! Did you have any issue with the hotel rooms selling out during your week?
  5. @@nattiegams325 I'm so nervous about them nickel and diming on the decor :/ What videographer did you decide on?
  6. @@pddcmc I told certain people that I know are planning to come, and i have a note on my website. Also, when some ppl tried to book through my travel agent, she told them that those room categories have sold out. I am getting another room block so that people can book....I've also directed people to travel websites in the meantime. Has any of the room types sold out for your weekend?
  7. @@Tammi1025 @@SusanMarie813 @@adehaarte sent the budget planner, although i do recommend getting it straight from the resort as there may have been changes in prices. So, I have a slight dilemma.....the resort has sold out of all of the 3 cheapest room category types for my wedding weekend (May 1-May 4). I wasn't expecting this and a lot of people I'm expecting still haven't booked even though my deposit deadline was October 1! I have 33 people booked so far but expecting at a minimum 10 more people! The room block I reserved is completely full and I really did not want to get another one and even if I do, the only rooms left are the Preferred Club Premium Ocean View rooms or better. Has anyone had this same issue, of the resort almost selling out? And how did you communicate this to your guests without feeling like you are bugging/rushing them? Has anyone found a close hotel option to give their guests?
  8. So glad you asked this question! Been wondering the same thing....it to me seems like a waste to send invitations to people who after they received our save the date, said they wont be able to make it. However, my sister its still proper to send invitations to everyone ....but my passport invitations are expensive lol so decided only sending to those that are coming and those that havent outright declined. oh and to my grandmother who cant make it because I know she would keep it as a keepsake
  9. Has anyone used Wedding Digital Cinema? I came across their work (which looks pretty good) and prices (which are much cheaper than the ones that frequent these forums) but I found it weird that when I searched the site, I couldn't find any reviews on them. Any feedback would help! Thank you
  10. @@AmberDragon thank you for sharing!!! Where are all the brides that have gotten married this fall or coming up? I feel like our thread is falling off!!
  11. So I am one of those people that are not allowing random plus 1s. We chose a destination wedding because we want only the people we are close with to be there and share the moment with us. I am allowing majority of people to have plus 1s (specifically if you are in a relationship or if you know no one else coming) but if you are single and have been since we've met and you want to bring some random date to our wedding, I'm not allowing. Especially if the rest of our single friends are going and you can easily room with them. (One of my friends just broke up with his girlfriend and wanted to bring one of his buddies that I don't know in her place.....why?) I tell my single friends that tactfully and let them make the decision if they want to come or not. Ultimately, its our wedding, our budget, and its about me and my fiance
  12. @@seb1230 where did you purchase the playing cards? trying to find them for cheap
  13. May 3, 2015 at Dreams Riviera Cancun ....almost to the 6 month countdown!
  14. @@be1122 Yes I sent my STDs at the beginning of July so 10 months before the wedding....then sending our invitations in December with a RSVP date of 1/15/15...mainly bc only about 25 of my guests have booked and I want them to go ahead and get on it instead of continuing to wait!
  15. @@Lynnette My photographer is my cousin. I asked David Carillo about this and this was his response: If the photographer will stay at the resort for a minimum of 3 nights we can waive the fee.
  16. @@ASmooth wow that would annoy me to death so i understand why youre upset! Can your travel agent set up forwarding services? So that when they call the old number, the calls will be forwarded to her new one?
  17. @@Sheaka hi doll. David Carillo sent me the wedding budget planner, which is an excel spreadsheet that allows you to play with the numbers and add what u want for the wedding and find out the cost. Have you been in touch with him? He can email that to you. I'm having about 60 guests and got the dreams of love package so it was important for me to see the increment costs for guests over 20. I dont think there is 1 flat price for cocktail hour, reception dinner and open bar; there is a per guest fee for each guest over 20.
  18. @@Chrysta Dave and Vanessa are doing our wedding passports and boarding passes too. they look amazing. you can def get them cheaper elsewhere but the quality and the similarity to real passports and boarding passes that Dave and Vanessa give is like no other I'm super excited for my guests to see them!
  19. Thanks for all the information everyone! We are using Vanessa's Destination Wedding Invitations and love the quality of them, getting them for under $5 each along with RSVP boarding passes....so according to your responses, I think I'm getting them at a great price
  20. I am getting passport invitations but am not doing them myself (I just do not trust myself to make the quality product I want) and was hoping you guys could share how much you spent per invite? This question is for those that did it yourself and also those that ordered. Thanks brides!!
  21. @@kmk2016 wow its very impressive that you already have 78 people booked and your wedding is so far away! how did you get them to book?
  22. @@James2Be have you been in contact with David Carillo, the DRC wedding coordinator? just email him for the updated deco catalog and he will send it to u.
  23. @@AmberDragon congrats on getting your dress and being 3 weeks away, you must be so excited!!!! To all brides, what room are you and your bridesmaids getting ready in? I really want the master suite for the weekend but its so expensive!
  24. @@ceciile thank you so much for the review. its really helpful. I have heard mixed reviews from brides about the gazebo and your feedback is helpful as well. Looking forward to the pictures!
