Has anyone done the taco private dinner? My family has never met my FH's family, so I figure we should have a welcome dinner or something, just wondering if we should do the private dinner or just have an informal meet up at the buffet.

I was thinking of maybe doing them up as Postcards and putting the info on the back?

Haha when you sign the marriage certificate you sign your maiden name, because you aren't officially a Mrs. until after the certificate is signed.

I posted online that I was looking for someone to make me a Save the Date card in the style of the cartoon Archer. All I requested was that it be totally badass. I was sent a first draft last night and asked about revisions. I have asked for my fiance to have glasses, to change the stemware to a glass of whiskey, and since it's a cartoon and why not, told them to feel free to make me a little more buxom. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I can't answer all of your questions, but the resort rents out a projector, so you should be good for the powerpoint, but I believe you may need your own laptop and possibly cables as well. Also, I have never seen anyone on this forum say that they were allowed to use Sky Lanterns, it sounds like they're banned pretty much everywhere.

Ok. I feel like if I would have to ask how to spell their names, they probably aren't close enough to be invited to an intimate wedding ceremony.

I have been engaged for about 8 months. We've got a guest list (just immediate family and the wedding party), picked our resort, everything is tentatively set up, just waiting for the fall 2015 schedules to be released so we can actually book. Somehow, I managed to forget until last night that I have two stepbrothers. My mother remarried in her 50's to a man from England. He has two sons from his first marriage who live in England. I have only met one of them once at the wedding and the other one twice. We have no contact and I know nothing about them. Do I need to invite them to the wedding? I can't imagine that they would fly over for the wedding, and they are complete strangers to me, so can I get away with not inviting them?

The only place I have ever seen a tarantula is in Thailand. And it was waaay up above my head on a cave tour, if it had moved in any way you would have just seen a Maggietron-shaped hole in the cave wall.

I want to go barefoot because I hate shoe shopping, but I guess I'm still going to need sandals for the reception. I suppose wearing birkenstocks at your wedding probably isn't very fashionable lol.

Waiting for fall 2015 rates to come out is driving me crazy!

I decided on the Bahia Principe Coba for our wedding, we will have 4 kids from the ages of 18 months to 11ish and they have a waterpark, but they also have a quiet pool and a nightclub and other adult activities, and apparently it's really close to Xel-ha. I've never been there before, but they had good reviews and the wedding package prices are reasonable.

I'll be 31, he'll be 35 when we get married. One big difference I've noticed is that if I had gotten married in my early to mid twenties, it would have been a huge expensive affair with a ballroom and big poofy dress and dozens of friends that I no longer keep in touch with. Getting married at an older age has given me time to get past all that "stuff". Now it's just our families and us and the wedding is costing less than the engagement ring.

I think I have lucked out, I emailed the resort and they told me that I could still have my wedding at that venue as long as the reception was at the resort I was staying at. Fingers crossed that it works out!

Will they let you do the music during the meal if you're doing the semi-private instead of private?

So, another user sent me the 2015 packages and I've been tentatively planning what we want so we can budget accordingly. I have a couple of questions just to clarify what is written in the packages, as it doesn't look like the 2014 packages that I received earlier this year. Speaker with microphone (cord to connect a mobile) 70 USD/hr ---- is this the setup for using an iPod instead of the DJ, or is it literally just the microphone and speakers for speeches etc? Live Music - at wedding ceremony or a private dinner (included in unforgettable package) - If we're using recorded music during the ceremony would they play during the toast after the ceremony?

There's a brides project in ann arbor MI as well.
