  1. @@Kayla2015 and anyone else interested in the Hyatt Ziva, their website is now up and running! http://puertovallarta.ziva.hyatt.com/en/hotel/home.html For some reason, when you click the link it says the page can't be found but if you click any of the tabs above, you should be good!
  2. Definitely still do the wedding in Mexico. I feel like it would be worse to give in to everyone and have your wedding day somewhere you didn't care for or feel a special connection to. Like everyone else has been saying, at the end of the day it is your wedding day and your memories.
  3. @@Kayla2015 Good to know about the additional costs for outside vendors. So you definitely have to make sure you like all the vendors at Las Caletas unless pricing works out to be cheaper bringing a vendor in. Yes, the privacy is a big factor. I know the resorts try to make it feel special but it's hard to when you're getting married while it's in the afternoon and people are still out running around in their bathing suits. So many little details to consider when planning a destination wedding!
  4. Thats one of the other reasons I would like to go with Westjet. The chances of last minute deals is lower so you don't have people that choose to wait and pay less than the rest of the group. I would feel so bad if that happened!
  5. @@LissaSou How far in advance did you confirm pricing with Westjet? I was thinking 10-11 months might be the magic number with Westjet. Were your group quotes you received higher or lower than what was on their site?
  6. @@Kayla2015 I haven't booked yet with them, still waiting on pricing to come out. I'm surprised pricing has come out yet considering it's opening December 1st. I'm hoping since Hyatt is new to the all inclusive market in Mexico they'll have good promotions for 2015. We were originally going to get married in the Mayan but pricing was coming in a bit higher for guests than I expected so we switched to PV. Although now that we got a quote for Now Amber, that was coming in around $1800 too. I'm hoping Hyatt Ziva is closer to the $1500 mark. We are actually planning on doing the wedding at Las Caletas. I've heard great reviews for weddings there and I think it would make for a unique experience. In the event we can't have the wedding at Las Caletas though, we definitely have to make sure the resort we choose would also make a good option for weddings. Good to hear about the beach! I'm sure once they come out with their wedding info that would be a great spot! Or maybe there will even be a rooftop ceremony option which would allow for more privacy. I tried checking out Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos to see what they had for wedding information and looks like you need to e-mail them directly for more info
  7. @@SLetendre That's terrible! You would think with the amount of weddings they do, this is something they would have thought of and would have a way to backup files. Hopefully they come up with better compensation than just money for the video portion!
  8. @@Kayla2015 It's taking over Dreams Puerto Vallarta and opening December 1st, 2014. From what I've heard of the beach area it would make a nice spot for a wedding
  9. @@SLetendre Thank you! Good to know about the swimming aspect. I just know a lot of potential guests haven't been to Mexico so I'd want to make sure they get a good beach experience including swimming in the ocean! It's always so hard to tell from the trip advisor pictures if it's as bad as someone is making it out to be!
  10. Has anyone heard any information about what to expect for the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta? Really excited to find out about the a la cartes, if changes will be made to the pool and if there will be introductory rates for 2015.
  11. Hi ladies, I've narrowed down resorts to Now Amber and the new Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta opening soon. I like the Hyatt Ziva because from what I've heard the beach area there is absolutely beautiful. Have any of you done site visits to Now Amber and checked out the beach? I keep hearing mixed reviews about the beach area at Now Amber being rocky?
  12. Congrats on your engagement!
  13. Congrats! This website it so helpful for planning!
  14. Hello, I'm looking to use Westjet Vacations for my destination wedding in November 2015. My travel agent has been steering me away because Westjet doesn't hold rooms like the other charters and Air Canada do. I like that Westjet has direct set flights from Saskatoon to Puerto Vallarta and better pricing. Has anyone been to a destination wedding with Westjet Vacations or using them for their wedding? Has the experience been good?
  15. Hi Maggietron, I'm using Correna at Uniglobe in Sutherland for mine. Friends of ours also used Barbara Crowe at Ixtapa travel on 8th street for their Huatulco wedding we attended November 2013...They said they had a good experience with her. As guests we didn't have issues with the booking process either!
