  1. hi guys, just got back from my wedding,n all i can say is there is no need to stress about anything. the day after we arrived we met with the w/c. we had Estefania and wendy. they were absolutely brilliant.they go through step by step as to what will happen on the day and were ppl will be picked up and dropped off. she will give you a full itinery of timings for the full day to issue to every person in your party. i had my ceremony at the Tulum beach location at 1pm.Amazing!! originally was at akumal hammocks but so glad i changed at the last minute.such a private location with no passers by,were akumal i felt like everyone could see your wedding.we didnt need no decor for the site and im glad as we were literally married in 10 minutes.would of been such a waste of money.my bouquet was stunning. sent a picture of what i wanted months before and it exactly matched. no extra charge. we only paid for 1 hour of photography and that was sufficient. i didnt have them photograph me prior to wedding as i wanted more time for photos at ceremony site.they still produced over 400 photos n quality was brilliant.we still ended up buying them all.we had martin from Tropic one studio.heknew exactly what to do! we had a toast afterwards n more photos then we all got dropped at tulum reception were we all headed for the main indoor bar..for our reception do we had the bbq theme round the tulum pool. best choice ever. only downside was the heavens opened up but the chefs/organisers/w/c did there best to keep the place dry but it couldnt be helped! we carried on with the party and danced the night away in the rain.didnt spoil anything. we had the mexican trio for the first 45mins of dinner then we had the dj for 4 hrs. we did take an ipod incase he didnt play the type of music we wanted but we didnt need it,he did a fantastic job...at the bbq there was enough food to feed the hotel. tons of meats/fish/salads/dessets etc. even an ice sculpture which we didnt know about. everything was perfect n such a stress free day. we were told in the afternoon that there was a chance of rain in the evening n because we'd had 9 days of beautiful weather we thought it might of only been a shower.we could of moved to indoors at saan kaan hotel but decided to stay outdoors. just felt sorry for all the workers. they go above n beyond for you to have a fantastic day.i would do it all again in a flash. rain or no rain. w/c went through with me what i wanted collecting up at the end of the night and we picked the items up the next day.we got an upgraded room on arrival with bottle of bubbly n bowl of fruit.parents had bubbly n fruit to. we also got gold bands,parents did to, which meant you could go anywhwere on resort. all our guests got upgraded with bright pink bands which meant they could go in akumal hotel as well. think its because we booked over a year ago when the akumal was included. when we returned from our wedding in the evening we had chocolate strawberries and a bottle of moet in our room, think the moet might of been from what was left over from our toast.we had our romantic meal at the don pablo restaurant. you also get a bottle of bubbly n a gorgeous cake for afters. our wedding cake was 3 milks. gorgeous!! the day before the wedding we booked a catamaran from 9-1pm with paradise catamarans for all our guests. fantasic day. they also surprised us with a wedding cake n bubbly n really looked after everyone. any questions please ask as i cant remember everything off the top of my head.ill put some photos in my gallery as they wont upload.
  2. Hi has anybody got any pics yet of the new tulum beach location. We go on Wednesday n I'm unsure as to whether the location needs decorating with flowers etc!
  3. @@Maggietron When is your wedding date? I have no idea now as to whether I need any decor/flowers for the new tulum beach site without seeing it done it for weddings.will probably just have to go look at the site as soon as I arrive as I'm meeting the wedding coordinator the day after we arrive. Something else for me to stress about 4 weeks before the wedding! Thought I was all organised n sorted!!

Well I've now Changed to tulum beach location...hotel has just confirmed this.I've had akumal hammocks booked since last February but had no Idea they had painted it.I asked them to send me some photos of the location set up, otherwise I wouldn't of known till I got there. Luckily they had 1 time slot left 1pm not Ideal but at least I could Change. I've attached photos of the new tuum location. @@Maggietron I'm sure if you just email them and ask if you can change am sure it will be fine. I've just emailed and said I don't like the hammocks painted now and she replied straight away and said I could Change.
  5. This is the akumal hammocks which has now been painted white. It doesn't come with the ribbon though. Has anyone else got any pics of either akumal hammocks or the new tulum beach location. I'm getting married in 4 weeks and I can't decide which location to choose. Just need anyone's input if they've seen them both and which they think looks the better location. So hard to choose when you haven't seen them.

  8. @ Have you got any pics of the new tulum beach location set up with chairs? Was just wandering how it looks set up for a wedding.really like the look of this location but might be to late to change now as I'm only 5 weeks away away!
  9. @@Dreamteam17 your pics are lovely. Was your flowers included in your free bouquet,or did u pay for them? Also was the ribbon included or did you bring your own?
  10. @@Andie This is what I messaged them: My surname is ( B...) which is my married name and the name on my passport. My maiden name is ( A..) which I haven't used for 18 years. If I get married as Donna B.. do I still need to get birth certificate and decree absolute translated and apostilled? This is what they replied back with: This is not obligatory. you have 2 options: 1. Only valid passport- if you do not mind to get married with the name of Donna B (WHICH IS MY MARRIED NAME) 2. Birth certificated and Decree absolutely traduce and apostille if you want to get married with the A... lastname (WHICH IS MY MAIDEN NAME ) I hope this clarify your doubt So my thinking is if I want to get married with my married name I just need my passport. Anyone agree with me??? Just want to get this right. Don't want to get there and then they say I've messed up and can't marry me!! I've telephoned a Spanish translation company in the UK and they have told me to take a copy of the email for my own back up and also take my birth certificate and decree absolute just in case. Anyone lease been in this situation?
  11. Not sure if anyone can help. I've been previously married and I still use my married name and my passport is still in married name. I emailed hotel to see what documents I need translating and this is what they sent me back IF YOU VALID PASSPORT HAS BEEN CHANGED WITH THE LAST NAME OF YOUR EXHUSBAND AND YOU WANT TO GET MARRIED WITH YOUR SINGLE NAME..... YOU NEED TO BRING THE DECREE ABSOLUTLY AND THE BIRTH CERTIFICATED TRADUCE AND APOSTILLE. Does this mean if I want to say my vows in maiden name? I would like it to stay in married name as I haven't had maiden name for 18years. Still unsure what docs I need??? @@samclarke you said you got 15 photos, did you pay for any extra time with the photographer? I've got 15 free photos and was wandering how long you get with them for that? Do you know pricing for the photographer?
  12. @@Maggietron we paid our sunshine package through our TA when we booked the holiday. I'm waiting on a reply from Linda WC as I've emailed her saying I've already paid. The TA should be able to confirm this if she gets in touch with them or I have breakdown in my holiday package which states I have paid.all my contact has been through WC Linda. @@nicolesal sorry I worded that wrong. Everything will be billed to my room. WC emailed me a breakdown of what it is all going to cost. Wasn't told by TA that I had to pay for guests over 20ppl. I'm getting married at akumal beach hammocks. Does anyone know if I pay for 3 floral displays to be placed on top of each wooden pillar on hammock would I be able to reuse these on my tables at reception do?
  13. @@Maggietron so do I still have to pay for 16 extra guests even though I've paid for 50 ppl for BBQ and 50ppl extra bar? Still don't know we're they get the price of £1970 from??? If I've already paid sunshine package through TA do u think this will include legal fees/ bloods?
  14. Hi all, Not sure if anyone can help me but I've just received a price breakdown of how much our wedding package is going to cost. The first part is 1. the total price of your wedding package will be 1570 usd + (16 extra guest * 25 usd each one) = 1, 970.00 usd I've already paid for the sunshine package through our TA so really not sure what all this price is for?? Also what are the extra guests added on for??

  17. Hi has anyone got any ideas or pictures of centrepieces or table displays. I'm having the BBQ buffet at poolside and wanted some kind of beach theme. Would be grateful of any ideas x
  18. Aww them pics are beautiful.getting excited now n I've still got 9 months to go! Love the white material round the hammocks n on the chairs. which they have in there photos Anyone have an idea how much this costs? Tiseege is there a set place were they do the BBQ buffet? I'm getting married at akumal beach 27th march 2015 at 3pm n not sure we're they will do this?
  19. hi, has anyone recently had a bbq themed buffet dinner/reception? if so roughly what time does this start and how are the tables set up? is it self service? and has anyone any pics they canshare with me please?
  20. Tlseege did you say you had the bbq?if so what is the earliest time you can have this,and also did you have ur reception/drinks at the same time?
