I'm so happy you decided to start a thread! I love you and your FI's journey, you have been through so many highs and lows and your relationship is still strong. I love everything you've posted so far. The dress is just gorgeous! I liked the purple flowers more than the orange-y ones (I'm a little biased though as my favourite colour is purple). I love the idea of putting together something special to remember your special day. If you want to keep costs down or avoid shipping fees I think shopping local is a good idea. I'm sure there are a lot of great local vendors where you are. As for your legal ceremony, I agree with vancouverpetunia, you can never be too over dressed.

Congrats on your weight loss as well it's amazing that you put your mind to your goal and not only did you achieve it, but you surpassed it. Your venue was absolutely stunning! Your hard work and planning really did pay off. You are so creative as well. I loved all your DIY projects and the jewelry you made was so beautiful. I also loved all the Kate Spade things you posted as well. I wish I started reading your planning thread earlier. You had such amazing ideas and everything looked amazing. Thanks girl =) I have a plain white veil that's mid length (it goes to about my waist). I'm thinking about buying veil weights to keep my veil from blowing and add a little something extra to my dress. Great article! Articles and advice like this are what I think I need. I'm one month from leaving and I've been able to keep my cool with everything so far, but once I got to the 6 week mark I've been freaking out over every little thing.

Hey everyone! So I'm finally home from work and finally have some down time to be on the forum. Yesterday was my final fitting and I got to take my dress home. Everything went really well! I have to say I'm really impressed with David's Bridal. They really took care of me and everything went smoothly. They understood my vision and helped me achieve it. My dress fits like a glove and I'm really happy with it! I forgot to bring my veil, but I was able to try on my dress and accessories. It's real ladies! This is it! Now my fear is that I need to stay the size I am so my dress still fits perfectly the day of. It's going to be a challenge since I've been so stressed out.

The colour is incredible and they look comfy for heels. For those of you feeling a little lost @@acw271011 and I live close to each other and we both just happened to have appointments at David's Bridal at the same time (she was picking up her shoes and I was going to pick up my dress). It was amazing to run into her and she got to see my dress and all my accessories aside from my veil and I got to see her shoes. I felt really lucky to run into her because it felt like I had one of my friends there to give me an opinion on my dress. . I feel like we've known each other for a very long time lol. @@maybeoneday Thanks hun! This forum is awesome and I literally couldn't have planned my wedding without it. I wish you could have been there too. I'm so excited, yet nervous at the same time about my wedding. I feel like there's still so much to do, just all the little things though. I'm hoping that this week won't be as busy at work so I can get home early to work on everything. Your wedding is coming up quite soon too! You must be so excited.

So this post isn't really wedding related, but I just wanted to share anyways. On Friday, I met up with about 8 brides from the forum that live around the GTA. It was amazing that so many ladies came out and it was incredible to meet them in person. I was really nervous prior to meeting everyone. It felt like going on a blind date, only with 8 people. I was really hoping that everyone would like me. All of the girls were incredible, kind, and genuine, it didn't feel weird at all and it felt so natural. I feel like we all connect on this forum and become friends even though some of us never meet. When I read planning threads or posts I feel like I connect with other brides;I worry when they do, feel their joys, and share in their sorrows. I feel like we all form a community and a deep bond as well. Hope I don't sound creepy, but I love the community here and I do care about every single bride on this forum even if we are hundreds of miles away and even if we never meet. I hope that I get to see some of the brides I met up with on Friday again and I would love to meet every bride on this forum. Thank you to everyone who reads my planning thread and every bride or member that has replied to a topic I started or a post I made. I honestly couldn't do this without you!

@@deecol I think your colours are going to be beautiful! I look forward to reading your thread when you start it. I wish I started mine earlier. I got my mason jars from discount mugs. They cost me quite a bit, but they were worth it. My guests who have gotten their bags love them so far. I'm not very good with DIY stuff so I paid the little bit extra to have this company laser print the text onto the mason jars.

OOT Bags/ Favour Bags: So last weekend I decided to get together with my family and Dan to assemble my favour bags. I'm really proud of them and I love how they turned out! I've been working on them since January and I was thrilled to see my vision come to life. I think this has been one of my favourite parts of wedding planning so far. I knew from day one that I wanted to do favour bags and I wanted them to be good! Dan and I are really appreciative of everyone that will be coming to the wedding and we understand that they are paying a lot to come to our wedding so we wanted to make sure that they are taken care of and feel appreciated. I budgeted $700.00, for favours, but ended up going over since I now have 30 guests coming (I had originally planned on 25 people coming). Thankfully I bought extra things so that I was able to compensate for the extra guests. This is a list of what I have in the bags: - Personalized Red tote bag - Personalized Red Mason Jar plastic tumblers -2 Personalized pens with red caps -1 Beach towel (MIL paid for them, she wanted them to be included) -1 Memo pad - 1 Deck of cards - 1 Suoku book or Word Search book - 1 face cloth (I was told by a TA that my resort doesn't have them) -1 Oh $**t Kit with the following items: 2 advil packets, 1 pepto packet, 1 tube of sunblock, 1 tube of After Sun, 2 large band aids, 2 small band aids, 1 chapstick -One Personalized letter -One Brochure I found this little poem on this forum that I decided to use for the labels on my Oh $**t Kits "Too much fun, too much sun, too much booze, too much food," then I added "Don't worry we've got you covered ;)" I got carried away with the bags and ended up going over budget =s I'm attaching pictures of my bags, Welcome letters, and Brocures. I can't believe you're leaving tomorrow! When we started talking on this forum you were still months away and so was I. Now you're day is next week and mine is next month. Where did the time go lol? You're not weird at all! I'm the same way, I will constantly worry about whether or not everyone is having fun. I did at my bridal shower for the first bit, but then after a while I relaxed and realized everyone was. I know this sounds weird, but I'm worried that I'm going to need a vacation after my wedding lol. I feel like I'll be running around making sure all the wedding plans are going smoothly and making sure my guests are taken care of.

My biggest regret waiting so long to start my planning thread as I'm finding that they are a great way to meet other brides, get feedback on ideas, and bounce ideas around. I can't believe you leave in like 2 days! You're so organized though and you seems to be handling it all very well.
