Which Shoe?

I like the last pair. But all are pretty. -
Your family sounds just like mine! I'm getting married in Playa del Carmen in 4 months and I just found out this week my sisters are going. But they still have NOT booked! Not one person in my family has. I also had a handful of friends that promised 100% they would go and now backed out because they decided to travel elsewhere this year. At least make up a good excuse! Before we booked, we asked my sisters, my cousin and dad if they would go. They all said yes, sure. Then after we book, it's 'I'm not sure I can afford it.' They had 2 years to save! My mom passed away a few years ago and I'm really close with her sisters and my cousins. I see my aunts almost once a week. I have two cousins, those two aunts and an uncle that are not going. And it's not because of money. It's because they 'poo poo' Mexico. It's not where they want to go on vacation. It really does hurt and it makes you sad. But I am at the point now where I am just focusing on me and my man. And I only talk to the people that are excited for us. As I get older and people get busy and have their own lives, I've noticed more and more that people can be bad at communicating and rsvp'ing. Just try to focus on things that you can control. It's your big day and if those people do not want to be there with you to celebrate, then they wouldn't be any fun anyways. And if the hotel or flights get sold out, then it's up to them to figure it out on their own. I know it's easier said than done, but you will exhaust yourself if you spend all this time hunting people down. I wish you luck and hope some of them start shaping up!

Hello. I am trying to find information on who to contact to hire the bike taxi's in Playa del Carmen. I'd like to hire a few of them to take my bridal party from our hotel in downtown Playa to the wedding location. It's less than half a mile away. I don't want to walk that far when we're all done up and I think it would look cute for pictures. Does anyone know the contact info for a company that does this?

I'm going to go with a pink for sure. Just not sure which, either magenta for a bolder color, or soft pink. I have the colors in photos below. I just don't want blue. I love the color, but since we're doing beach, I've noticed some blue bridal parties blend in too much w/ the water. A girl I know got married in Mexico and has her bridesmaids in long soft rose colored dresses. They got married later in the day and the sun was going down so her wedding was very 'romantic.' I think the rose and silvers or golds is very pretty as well.

Hello. I am thinking of having my wedding at Grand Sunset Princess. I am having a hard time reaching the people at the current place I booked so now I am thinking of losing my deposit and doing it at our hotel. We cannot afford to do the private beach party. We are having about 20-26 guests, so not a huge party. We will need to have our dinner and reception in an a la carte restaurant. Does anyone know IF you can have a DJ in one of these locations and if there is room to dance? I'd still like to have our first dance and have him dance with his mom. I'm not sure if this is possible if we do not book the private beach area. Or if we can bring in a little sound system and play songs? Or even which a la carte restaurant to choose. I have reached out to the hotel, but they usually take a while. I'm just looking for some advice. Thanks!

You should be able to book any tours from your hotel. A big excursion in the area is doing Tulum and then visiting Xel-Ha. At Xel-Ha, you can do snorkeling. I really like it there because it's really peaceful and you can snorkel a large area. Xcaret is also a nice option, but it's huge. They have a little cave area you can snorkel in, but be careful, the caves and cenotes are COLD!!! Isla Mujeres is a fun getaway, but it's a long trip from Riviera Maya. But worth a visit if you have time. When do you plan on going? Depending on what time of the year, you could possibly snorkel w/ whale sharks. I use the website www.viator.com when looking up tours for vacation. They cover many countries. They're worth a shot. But if you can find a local guide, that is always a great thing to do because you can get personal service and htey can show you fun things that they couldn't do w/ a huge group.

Tulum is great. Whenever I go to Mexico w/ someone new, I make sure to take them there. If I do a big group, we usually do the long tour that visits Tulum and Xelha. Everyone loves Xelha. It's a laid back place with beautiful water. You could look to rent a large van to just take you and pick you up from this location. We are hiring a large van to pick us up and take us to our Playa hotel and it's about $50 per trip. You don't pay per person. So it's $100 roundtrip and we can fit numerous people in there. You may want to check that out.

Oh my gosh. I've been trying to email Adriana for over 2 months now. I was wondering if she left. Noboy notified me. I also sent a regular email this week to the general email address and I'm still waiting to hear back. Adriana was great. So quick and very accomodating. That makes me so sad. Do you have the email to the new WC? I'm a bit scared now. I'm so glad I looked on here. Thanks for the heads up.

Hello. I will be getting married in Mexico in November and I plan on having long dresses for the bridesmaids. They are going to be light, flowy and chiffon and magenta. They are pretty and simple dresses. I'm looking to add a pop to the dresses by having them wear a pretty hair piece or flower. Or a cute necklace that isn't too much. Does anyone have any cool ideas?

Catholic Destination Brides--What To Tell People?
Sarahop81 replied to rachelia160's topic in Newbies!!
To be honest, I don't know anyone that had a big 'to-do' for the legal ceremony. I am having a Catholic ceremony in Mexico. Nobody is going to know about legal ceremony. I feel that the church part is our wedding and for my aunts that can't make it, well that is their choice. It's not like they're not going because of health or money issues. They just don't like Mexico. If they couldn't go because of health issues, I would invite them to the legal ceremony. Or have a party for those who couldn't come after the destination wedding. I wouldn't want my Catholic ceremonty to be cheapened in any way and to have someone think of that as my second wedding or fake wedding like you mentioned. But that is my view. It's your big day and you should get to choose who you want at each place. If you feel you want just a few people, then you really should tak with your mom. People will know we are married ahead of time, but that is only because my fiance has a big mouth and already told people. I don't think guests really think about it. Each time I've been to a Catholic wedding, I assumed that was the big day. Good luck!
