    @nwilliams005 I'm so happy to hear you liked Marcia Roberts! We just hired her for our wedding next April. She's not paying the vendor fee for ours, I guess her policy has changed. Lucky you that you didn't have to pay that Congrats on your wedding!!!!

    @@Binzster I totally agree, the more private the better!! I will look through all my emails and stuff this weekend and send you anything I find. The planners were very nice when we met with them during our visit. I remember taking pics of the courtyard gazebo and realizing that it was way too in the middle of everyone, people sit in the bar and watch the weddings so it's a little much. Both beach set ups are much better. It's a bummer too, because the courtyard gazebo has a beautiful view of the ocean behind it.

    @Binzster Yes it's awesome, we can definitely share info! I'm 99% sure we're going with Marcia Roberts for our photography, her photos are beautiful and her prices are good too. I'm actually reviewing the contract right now I've heard very good things about Kevan Stewart! I think I may go with the DJ the Royalton has, I hadn't really thought too much about an outside DJ yet. Hmmmm. Let me know what you decide!

    @Binzster There is a gazebo on the beach to the side, people might be sitting near it when you get married but it is more secluded than the one in the middle of everything. You can also set up your own at the beach on the left that has all the palm trees for an extra fee, definitely ask the wedding planner all your options. I'll look through my notes and see if I have any of the info that the RIU planner gave us that I can pass along to you!

    @@Binzster That's so fun that our weddings are only a few days apart! I will definitely look through my pics from our trip and see if I took any of RIU weddings. We watched a few in the gazebo that is by the main entrance and bars, but didn't get to see any that were on the beach. I will email you if I have any pics! There was one while we were staying there that sounded awesome, they had their reception on the top of the steakhouse at night and their DJ was great. Happy Planning!

    I think there's a vendor fee for any vendors not hired directly by the hotel - like if you have a package that includes flowers but you want more options so you hire a different florist, etc. I haven't started looking at hiring any outside vendors yet so I'm not sure what the cost is (but for some reason I think it's $450 per vendor, maybe Chandlyn told me that amount). I really should be doing more planning

    Thank you!!!! Planning has kind of slowed down for now - I'm not quite sure what's next! We probably should be picking out invitations, getting welcome bag ideas together, favors, etc. but haven't quite gotten started yet. Hope your planning is going well! Only a few more months for you!!

    Congrats!! I just booked our wedding a few weeks ago for April 2015 as well so definitely still working out the details. I'm pretty sure we'll be doing the paradise package, with the cocktail hour and reception poolside. The ceremony depends on how many guests we have, but hoping the gazebo over the water works out! Happy planning!!

    Don't you laugh at the people who say, "Oh isn't planning a destination wedding so much easier than a regular wedding??" ummmmm NO Have fun planning and I'm sure we will all have beautiful weddings!!!

    We were only there for a few hours since we were staying at the Riu. Everyone who worked there seemed pleasant, and we spoke to a few guests who were happy with everything! We stayed for lunch and it was pretty good! The reviews on TA are definitely mixed so I'm hoping for the best!!

    Thanks!! I'm going to include this in my OOT bag for my wedding next year! We wanted to include info about Jamaica to introduce people to the island, so this is perfect to go with that.
