  1. We're changed resorts after the first week to make sure we get some honeymoon time at a adults-only relaxing resort... it may be our last change to get a kids-free vacation!
  2. We wanted to send extras to our favorite famous people (hey, you never know, crazier things have happened!)... but unfortunately some last-minute adds to the invite list threw that idea out the window....
  3. I wouldn't be offended at all, as a guest. I think it's actually helpful to let guests know what is appropriate attire, especially for a destination wedding.
  4. Those are beautiful! and what a good idea to do pics on your site visit! I got engaged on Isla Mujeres... I'm in love with the island!
  5. I would love to give my opinion but a lot of us can't view attachments - maybe edit the post with the pics in the post? =)
  6. Target also has them quite frequently in the "dollar bins" -- seems like other places are cheaper though... but if you're in a pinch try target!
  7. I've separated my play-list into genres so I don't go too heavy on one type of music... these all made the country list... - Cruise – Florida Georgia Line - Love somebody like you – Keith Urban - Crash My Party – Luke Bryan - I don’t want this night to end- Luke Bryan - Life is a Highway – Rascal Flatts - Red Solo Cup – Toby Keith
  8. If you even have to question it... don't invite her (but that's just my two cents - do what makes you happy!)
  9. @@tygrrlily eeek hope things get better for you!! Can't say we didn't know what we were getting ourselves into trying to plan a wedding from so far away though, lol, we must be insane =) OH and just an FYI to everyone else in the planning stages, because I was shocked by this, all BP payments (including vendors!) are apparently due 45 days prior to the wedding... this was a great relief to me and I wish someone had told me sooner - I was so worried about traveling into Mexico with that much $$
  10. FINALLY!! After MONTHS AND MONTHS of emailing Marisol, with NO response, and after being switched between three "coordinators" who had NO idea what was going on... I have been contacted by DANIELA! She is WONDERFUL! My wedding is still 9 months away but someone has finally given me information and seems to actually care about me and my dream wedding!! AMAZING! The only frustrating part is that she has not been informed by any of my past "coordinators" about what I want at my wedding. It's like starting from scratch all over again. She even asked me what package I want!! How about the one I already put a $2,500 deposit on, 6 months ago?!?! Whatever, I don't even care, I blame it on the incompetent people I've been dealing with thus far. Things seem to finally be turning for the best! THANK GOODNESS!
  11. We don't have them either. Our families don't approve but I think it's better to avoid stress and keep the wedding about our marriage and ALL the people important to us
  12. We did ours about a year in advance - definitely don't wait, especially if you're wedding is peak-season. Palace Resorts will sell-out.
  13. Wear a different bathing suite everyday. If you're really serious about avoiding tan lines, change your suite mid-day. It'll prevent a really distinct line from developing.
  14. always ask WHY people don't like a particular resort... ours is bashed for being too small.. we don't mind small!! The last resort we stayed at was disliked for having terrible AC... THAT was a huge deal for us and made our stay uncomfortable. Just because others don't like a resort doesn't mean you also won't like it. It's all about the needs of the guest and their attitude.
  15. Agree with all above... no documents. But in Mexico at least, you have to be in the country 2-3 days prior to the ceremony.
  16. @@tygrrlily We spend 5 nights at the BP Sports Bar, on 2 of the 5, it basically turned into a wedding reception.... it was a little annoying as a resort guest but I think it's wonderful for the wedding party. Actually, the BP sports bar was almost a party-like atmosphere (crowded, good music, lots of drinking, friendly people) on most nights last time I was there (was in May).
  17. @@tygrrlily I adore that mall and I think our chances are high that there should be a salon in there. Too bad neither of us thought to check while we were in Cancun.... I've never had any services @ the BP salon but I read the tripadvisor reviews and not many people have anything positive to say about the manicures. I've read that they're a rush-job & messy from quite a few different reviewers =( I might look into the moon-palace spa reviews and see if they're any better. It's fairly far away but we get free access and a shuttle.
  18. I actually just found out that my Make-up artist/hair stylist duo also offer french tips.... not completely sold on that idea though
  19. @@tygrrlily ooo I see you're also a BP bride! Do you mind me asking who you chose as a photographer and what they are charging?
  20. SLOWLY! Paying for things as they come up - 2k here, couple hundred there, etc. Trying to space things out and pay as we go.
  21. I had originally planned to extend the reception... but after visiting the resort and seeing weddings TAKE OVER the resort "club".... that's my new plan to save money =) ... I hated it as a regular paying guest but for the money they charge per-hour to extend the reception, SO worth it.
  22. Just started talking to Tania about makeup! SO excited to work with her! I'm a little confused about the photo package. The "Pure" package I chose includes photography and mentions an upgrade fee to include photography at the reception (rather than just at the ceremony). IF I choose to hire and outside vendor, do I still receive the included photography at at the ceremony (through Beach Palace) in addition to my outside photographer?
