Hesitant To Do A Registry
LauraM replied to Kerrierf's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
NO registry here. I think it would be rude to ask for gifts on top of requesting that everyone pay so much to celebrate with me. -
Help! I have a problem with the wedding coordinator changing my package on me! When I booked the Pure Package, several months ago, I was told that it included "photo package A" Photo Package A included: - Album: 100 pictures among 60 pages with different templates (Includes 30 B&W) - 5 Printed e-touched pictures 8”x10” - 8”x10” Hard cover book of 22 pages containing between 29 - 31 photos - CD with all digital images - 1 Continuous hour of video service, Final cut video lasting between 15 to 40 minutes long’ - Personalized hard cover DVD case - Slide show I'm now being told that photo package A includes only 36 photos in a soft cover album! EXCUSE ME?! Unfortunately, I did not save the email from my Palace contact with all the photo information when I booked my package. I simply copied and pasted the info into a word documented I have saved. I have since gotten MUCH smarter and am saving everything! I'm SO frustrated and offended that they have done this! Does anyone have any documentation of the "old" photo packages, when "Package A" was worth something?!?

Not to offend anyone, as this is simply my opinion, but I think the whole garter thing is so tacky, not to mention mortifying. And it definitely can't be comfortable, right? But as I keep saying... the best part of a destination wedding is that you can do whatever you want!

A DJ at our resort is min 1,500 for only 2 hours... No Thank you! We are renting speakers, an IPod doc, and a microphone for about $150/hour. My brother will be making announcement for us. Hopefully he can be serious for two seconds (a little worried...). Excited to try that app everyone had mentioned above

Try emailing those companies directly, they're more likely to get back to you. They won't yet have their 2016 rates, as I was told they won't even have 2015 rates until october, but you can at least get some sort of idea from them Also, keep in mind that the resorts change their "prefered vendors" quite frequently .... so don't get you'r heart set on a company so soon, unless you're willing to end up paying the $800+ vendor fees

A destination wedding can be as cheap or expensive as you want. Personally, mine is WAY over budget (as in, 2x the cost it would have been at home - and I did not expect that at all). However, we could have made it much more affordable if we really wanted to. I think the best part of a destination wedding is that it is whatever you want it to be. If you don't want a formal reception, and would rather do a night out on the town - awesome! There are SO many options and ways to customize your day. I think it's great that destination weddings offer so many possibilities to the bride and groom, it's a real way to do what you want to do, not what tradition says to do. Happy planning!

I think it's a fun idea, not hokey at all! It'll keep the party going. I'm planning on buying mine there - either asking an employee to grab me one (and tipping them nicely) or trying the local walmart in cancun.

WOAH WOAH WOAH SHUT UP. When you say on the resort.... like... outside? near the pool? int he grass? inside? IN HER ROOM?!?!?! Please clarify? ahhhh!I've been to Mexico many times and have never seen a tarantula... but I would honestly probably never return if I did. I can barely fly ever since snakes on a plane. ( i know...) alright... did some research and it looks like sept/oct is the time that tarantulas and scorpions and the like are on the roam... though still unlikely in the resorts... nonetheless, AHHHHH.

Please do your best to get both names. My fiance and I have been together for 5 years. One of his co-workers (who I have never met) recently sent a wedding invite to just my fiance and "guest." I was so offended. I know it's petty and seems like such a small detail, but take the time to find out their names. I creeped facebook and recruited our parents to help us get everyones names and childrens names so that people wouldn't feel the way I felt. Good luck!

So I got my wedding invites in! I'm in love with them! Anyone looking to make a purchase... check out lavender paperie. I found them on Etsy. It was my first etsy purchase. I spend weeks searching various invitation websites and had almost given up when I found Lavender Paperie. They were quick to respond, customized my order, walked me through the process, and were so sweet and understanding with all of my questions/confusion/requests. The best part was, I got to interact with a real life person, instead of typing my requests into a text box and hoping that someone/something somewhere understood what I wanted. They are a little expensive and took a couple months to be made but they are PERFECT. I'm not posting pictures because I don't want to reveal ALL my personal details but trust me when I say, they look exactly like the ones on their website.

Anyone willing to share their wedding website? I've seen a couple amazing and informative examples on here and am looking for some more. We plan on conveying the majority of our info to our guests via our website and want to make sure we don't miss anything! Some more examples would be so helpful! Thank you!! <3

I always buy new clothes for vacation and way over pack, it's an addiction! try Marshall's, TJ Maxx, and kohls. And if you have enough time, watch for the VS semi-annual and end of season sales

When To Start Dress Shopping?
LauraM replied to TheBHolders's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
That's a good idea (going alone to see what you actually like on your body) - I picked a bunch of cap-sleeved simple dresses... tried them all on & ended up picking a strapless bling-ed out dress. Go play with styles so that you can have you'r full "real" appointment with you'r friends and family to pick a beautiful gown! -
