@@ng2015 hope your planning is going well also! We've had a couple more people book their trip but still having trouble getting a straight answer from everyone! It's hard to plan a reception there without knowing how many people we will have. I am ordering bags from Wedding Chicks also, I got that voucher from Gilt you were talking about so thanks for the heads up! I think for the wedding and our reception at Azul I am going to print the free chevron invites Wedding Chicks has (maybe that way I'll get more replies?) We are sending out an announcement/invite the week we return to invite everyone to our AHR. What are you doing decor wise for the beach gazebo and centerpieces for your reception at the resort?

@@kmk2016, I'm sure I've seen on here where other ABH brides have had around 80 guests and still had it there but I could be wrong. Have you looked through the Azul Beach Hotel thread? I did really pay attention to that detail just because we're having a smaller wedding so I didn't have to take that into account. Since they only have like 150 rooms I'm sure that's probably why plus your wedding is in high season so maybe they just don't accomodate it that time of year? Not sure....sorry

@@ng2015 @@talicea7812 Oh don't you girls worry, I made sure to forward the email strand between Carol and I to Andrea and she actually already had it attached to her inital email to me, which I was happy about. I make sure when I email them it's the same email so everything is there and they can't slip anything in. @talice87812 thanks, it sounds like I am probably going to have around the same amount of people as you did. I can't wait to see all of your pics! So did you say you rented the iPod hookup with speakers and all that or did you bring one? I will make sure not to add a microphone if that's the route we go, thanks for the tip!

@@ng2015 you are making progress! I haven't gotten any further in my plans than the photographer lol. The other photog that I originally wanted to go with emailed me on Friday with his new contract (still wrong) not even acknowledging that it's been over a month since I've heard from him....um sorry dude you're unreliable I went with someone else! Anyways, I am still debating on location for reception. We invited 37 people there but so far the only people that put down their deposit are my fiancés mom, stepdad, and brother and both sets of my parents...it's kind of annoying because i would like to decide on a location but can't really until I know more a number lol. I like the idea of a beach BBQ but you have to worry a lot more about lighting with that since there aren't any overhead so I think I may go with Chill Terrace (I think that's the one that holds around 30). I am also still undecided on a DJ. It's an added expense I really don't want to pay for but I am afraid if I do just the iPod hookup ppl won't dance. I will definitely check out DJDoremixx though! Whew- decisions, decisions. We are having a party a couple months after we return too so I've been stressing about centerpieces and details for that too. I'm trying to compromise since my fiancé wanted a party when we return but it would be easier if we just did everything at the resort lol. I also received an email today from Andrea my new coordinator with Lomas. Not sure what happened to Carol but she is no longer my WC apparently so glad I didn't email her!

@@1BeachBride I saw those and love them but still hoping to find some cheaper! $14.99 adds up if you have 16 or more of them. Hopefully I can find some used ones!

@@ng2015 is dj doremixx through Lomas or is he an outside vendor? We're trying to decide still what we're going to do about the dj. I cant really make a final decision on a location yet til we know for sure how many people are coming. Where are you doing yours?

@@talicea7812 wow I am so sorry your "friends" treated you that way. You really do find out who your true friends are and that's unfortunate that they had to act that way at your wedding. If you're going to act like that, don't come?! I don't get it. You do not need people like that in your life!

@@ng2015 oh well that's good you were able to use vistaprint. I ordered my save the dates on a Saturday night at like 11:30 and they shipped the following Monday morning! I had them by Thursday! So I am definitely going to use them for more! Thanks btw for the gilt tip. I took advantage of the wedding chicks offer! @talica7812 thanks, I'm considering the sound system but not sure if I want to do a private event still or not. Kind of waiting to see if more people book their trip. I would much rather do our dances and all that in Mexico in front of 30 people rather than at our at-home party in front of 175 people. I do not like to be the center of attention so I am seriously stressing over that part lol. I thought we could do our dances there and play them on a projector before we make our entrance at our at home party and then play a slideshow of our wedding pics. We weren't going to do a dance or any of that stuff but our parents I think were really hoping we were so we will see. @@ng2015 that stinks I'm sorry:( hopefully you get it sorted out. I ordered our save the dates through zazzle (just postcard size) I was super impressed with them. I've actually looked through the wedding chicks website and love their tote bags and I was kind of perturbed when I found their free printable chevron stuff. I still like my save the dates better but theirs were free! I may still use it for other things. I am doing my bridesmaids in pinkish coral dresses with turquoise and gray/white chevron accents.

@@kmk2016, yes that's what I am running into now. My family travels quite a bit and his not so much and the ones making comments, I am like you have to consider what you're getting for that. We considered a cruise wedding and I keep telling them, yea I cruise may sound cheaper up front until your are slapped with your alcohol bill at the end! Is your wedding next Feb or 2016?

@@kmk2016 I am in the same boat as you for Azul Beach Feb 27, 2015. So far most people are on board for at least 3-4 days but we've had some that are not too happy about the price. (This coming from people that will pay for a vacation to Hawaii and other places multiple times a year so I don't think I'm being unreasonable).

That's a good idea @@talicea7812! Did you end up having a dj for your reception or just the sound system for the iPod? @@MandM2014 I'm not. Our wedding is already booked at ABH 2/27/15.

@@talicea7812 holy crap! Congrats! That will end up being awesome for your gender reveal idea at your party!! I saw a cute gender reveal idea on pinterest, it was the girl in a tank top and the guy put hand prints on her belly in pink or blue, it may have been a picture idea.

@@kriziac I'm trying to decide on the same! We are having about 30 people. I thought the beach BBQ sounded cool but worried about lighting and all that. Are you doing a cocktail hour and reception?

@@malika2014 @@talicea7812 thanks for the suggestion ladies, we decided to go with Button Up Photography, they've been featured on Wedding Wire, The Knot, Style Me Pretty, and The Wedding Chicks. Hideki, the photographer is super nice and gets back with me right away. Their website is www.buttonupmx.com if anyone else is interested. They don't do video that I know of but I am strongly considering using WedIt for that. The more I think about it the funnier I think a weeks worth of videos would be with our crazy friends behind the camera lol. @@talicea7812 I think the dual party is a great idea! I was actually okay just having something in Mexico but I am compromising with my fiancé lol. I like your idea of a fiesta type theme, that will be very cost effective too if you can get away with having a party at your place. Ours just isn't big enough for that. We are having ours at a local event place that also does catering. I actually have a friend who works there and you can bring in your own alcohol and the room is included in the catering they just add a 20% service fee on to your total. For the number of people we will probably be inviting (probably around 175...you don't realize how big our fam is til you start making a list) this place is the most affordable option. I really wanted to do something outdoor but after the table and chair rental plus linens and a tent it would end up being around the same with catering added in. We are still keeping it pretty casual though and just making it a "celebration".

@@talicea7812 the flowers turned out gorgeous! What was the name of Marvin's company again? Also, I am going to look into the Besos Brides for hair and makeup everyone's hair looks awesome!

@@talicea7812 I've been following your posts! The pics you've posted so far are beautiful and I'm so glad you had a good time! I I still need to start my planning thread as well. Since you left I've signed the contract for our at home reception. We're doing that May 2nd of next year. We return March 1st from the wedding so I thought about 2 months was a good amount of time. Also, I'm shopping around for a new photographer, had everything arranged with Juan Navarro but just no contract signed yet but this guy has been giving me the run around and my gut is telling me to go with someone else. He hasn't been replying to my emails very timely, I would have to send a follow up email to get a reply back at all. Then when he sent me the contract the deposit amount wasn't what we had previously discussed...we had discussed me paying the deposit without the discount applied and then the final amt I would pay the day of would have the discount taken off that. Well he discounted the entire price on the contract, not a big deal 9same price in the end) but it made my payment the day of more rather than me having a larger deposit. So I emailed him to fix it to what we had agreed upon and he acted confused about what i was asking then finally said he would just make the invoice he sent me through paypal for the remaining 60% price and i could pay 40% the day of. Well that was a week ago Friday and I still haven't gotten a reply back so I have made the decision to just find someone else.....he doesn't' seem very reliable and I am very disappointing because his pictures are gorgeous.
