  1. Ive never been to either but I am too seriously looking at Paradisus La Perla and now looking at Grand Velas for the first time. They both have very different looks so thats a concern of mine. Im wondering if one will give a more unique wedding look over the other???? Do you plan to go visit the resorts beforehands?
  2. @@MelV521 if you wouldnt mind can you let us know which resorts you saw and why you ended up liking those two? I am wondering if my FI and I should make a trip to Mexico to review resorts? How did you go about doing this? Where did you stay? Any details you can give would be great!!!

    Riviera Maya

Hi I am a new bride too.... Just got engaged in october and I am also looking to have a wedding in Riviera Maya. We were looking into Paradisus and Hard Rock but after the reviews from Trip Advisor I dont know how I feel about Hard Rock with all their construction issues.. I am also hoping since we arent having a wedding till 2016 things will be figured out. My FI and I loved our time at Hard Rock in DR and was thinking the HR in Mexico would be just as exciting. 20-25k sounds about right with 60 guests at a really nice resort. Im really hoping we can do the wedding for about 15k so we end up at 20 max with everything (dress, stay, flights, etc).
  4. Hi ladies! I'm from West Babylon and trying to figure out which resort to pick in Riviera Maya... we are between Paradisus and Hard Rock right now. Hows wedding planning coming?
  5. @ I have been reading reviews on Hard Rock Riviera and people are disappointed in the grounds, no beach, food, etc since it has opened. It has me sketpical now... but good to know they have many unlimited options which will help us keep our cost down of our wedding. what was your opinion of Paradisus?
  6. OK OK OK... i need help here.. we have went through every single all inclusive resort in the caribbean and mexico and now we are down to either Paradisus or Hard Rock both in Riviera Maya. What do we do? Both are gorgeous resorts (based on pics). They are similar in taste too. I dont know which would be better for a wedding while also considering which would be a better vacation for our guests too. My FI and I like to have a good time, dance, be entertained, etc. Hard Rock's wedding seem a little canned (I think you have 9 choices) where as Paradisus seems more al la carte (even though they have packages) which isnt nec better for us. Any brides out there considering the same resorts? Or have chosen one over the other? Any help you can send my way would be great!!! Tam
  7. Hi ladies, its nice to know you there is a forum for HR Riviera Maya even tho it's so new. If anyone can post pictures of the resort and their wedding that would be great. Can you also let me know how you found working with the people at HR? Were they responsive? My FI and I are at the beginning stages of picking a resort and we have it narrowed down to either HR Riviera Maya or Paradisus Riviera Maya. Based on our vacation to HR Dominican Republic a few years ago we were inclined to look for another hard rock to enjoy again. We had such a great time but I have no idea how this location will be compared to DR. We also came across Paradisus website and it looks very similar to HR so now we are torn. Any help you can give me would be so greatful. Tam
  8. Hi ladies, So I need help. I am at the very early stages of planning a destination wedding and I have NO clue what to do. My FI and I did go through every all inclusive resorts in all caribbean islands and mexico (oh yessssss it took us 8 hours eek) and we have now narrowed it down to either Paradisus or Hard Rock Riviera Maya (based on decor). We have stayed at the Hard Rock in Punta Cana and loved it but have never been to the one in Riviera Maya (they just changed over to Hard Rock late 2013). Anyways, I really dont know how to decide which would be a better bet. I was hoping you could give me some insight on your weddings and stays at Paradisus. Now having been there would you go again? What vibe did Paradisus have? Relaxed? Party? Was it active during the day and evening? Shows? Dancing? Did your weddings turn out alright? I know at Hard Rock they have staple packages you pick from with colors, etc and thats how it will look.. it seems like at Paradisus despite their packages you still have a decent amount of control in regards to types of chairs, etc. I am also wondering what your over wedding prices ended up being. We think we will end up having about 60 guests but have no clue (our wedding will be in 2016 so we have some time). Sorry for all of the questions but any help you could give me would really help me out. Thank you so much!!! Tam
