  1. We are getting married at the Grand Palladium and after dinner we have the option of having a beach party or cocktail party near the beach. Both options you can hire a DJ or just use their speakers and hook up your iPhone for music. Our dinner will go from 6-8, beach party from 8-11, and if we still feel like partying afterwards we will take it to the beach bar or the disco.
  2. @@CierraG I don't think it's a big deal at all if your sides are uneven! Our sides likely will be as well - two for me and one for my FI
  3. Are there any consignment salons in your area? When I was dress hunting I tried a bridal consignment store and they had styles of dresses that were no longer carried by the local stores at great prices. Some of them had never been worn! I did not end up choosing a dress from there, but the bonus would be that you would get to take it home with you that day.
  4. That's so sweet that you are able to help your friends out! It sounds like you will have a great group of people there supporting you
  5. I met my fiancée online as well. I initially wasn't online to meet anyone. It had been a while since I was in a relationship and I thought it would be a good way to get my feet wet before I started looking for a serious partner. My fiancée was the first and only guy I went on a date with from the website and the rest is history! There were a few people in his family that bugged him about it at first, but it doesn't bother him to tell people that's how we met anymore.
  6. Congratulations on your engagement! So exciting!
  7. Whoops! Lol. I misread the title of the post and thought she was also asking about legal weddings as well, so I thought I'd throw in a quick post. That's what I get for only half reading things during my lunch hour . Sorry ladies! There really doesn't seem to be much we have to do on our end. We have to be in the country for four business days before the wedding, so since we land on a Sunday we had the option of a Thursday or Friday wedding. We only have to bring our birth certificates with us, and the resort will bring someone in to do our blood tests. None of that bugged us, so we just opted to do it legally while we were there.
  8. Hello! Congrats on your engagement!!!
  9. @@csho hope you had a beautiful wedding! I'm so guilty of looking at TripAdvisor reviews. I can't stop! I literally check the website about three times a day. Thankfully most of them have been positive so it's not making me crazy yet
  10. I was hoping that would catch someone's eye. I'd really like to start seeing attachments! lol
  11. I am going to be taking my husbands last name. I also feel like it would be a little weird to not have my maiden name anymore so instead of hyphenating, I'm going to make my maiden name another middle name. That's great that he's letting you go with your heart
  12. That dress is beautiful! My fiancée just bought a new light grey suit last summer and is determined to wear it so he doesn't have to buy another one
  13. My biggest stress factor was picking a resort - thank goodness since then the process has been relatively stress-free.
  14. to 150 I can taste it
  15. I've heard of the app and was thinking about using it for our reception as well so it'd be great to hear from those that used it an loved it
  16. Congratulations on your engagement!
  17. @@kmk2016 - she said she'll try to remember or find her contact info. She got married years ago
  18. I had this dilemma as well. Mom is one of 11 and dad is one of 8, all married with lots of kids. We finally just decided to invite aunts and uncles and not the cousins. It would have gotten out of hand if we hadn't, and I know a lot of them would have come if we did invite them. My cousins totally understood thank goodness. We were just honest about the fact that we wanted a small wedding. This is the main reason why we are having a destination wedding and not one at home!
