I'm not sure what resort you are staying at, but you have to keep in mind that there is usually a fee associated with bringing in outside vendors, so sometimes it isn't much of a savings to bring in outside vendors!

I also booked my date, ceremony and reception without looking into airfare. It is my belief that flights will go in and out of Punta Cana fairly frequently in March, so it shouldn't be that much of an issue. To be honest it didn't even cross my mind that we might not be able to get flights any day we wanted. I am getting married on a Friday and have to be at the resort by Monday at the latest. If we can't get a flight on the Monday we will just have to fly in the Saturday or the Sunday, but really, would being at the resort a few days early really be that terrible!

I say so with what you like! It's your day so do what makes you happy! Another thing to consider is how to get your dress on the plane. I have heard of some problems getting the dress on the plane. Just something to keep in mind!

Hi ladies, I couldn't find a thread about White by Vera Wang dresses in Canada, so I thought I would ask my question here! I am in love with this dress and desperately want to try it on, but I don't want to have to travel a few hours to go to the States (and drag my mom, sister and/or BMs with me) just to try on a dress I'm not sure will even look good on me! Has anyone seen this dress in a David's Bridal location in Ontario? I have been to two recently and didn't see it in either of those stores. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am getting married at Dreams Palm Beach ( I know you don't want to go there), but I haven't had any problems dealing with the WC or resort yet, so I would recommend Dreams! I would definitely read some reviews on this site, that is how I made my decision!

I am thinking of getting my BMs a robe (so we can wear while getting ready!) and something like a cute make up or travel kit. I will probably give them out at the resort, as they are pretty small. Hope that helps!

@@forevertogether Thanks for the info. Unfortunately my TA suggested it is easier to book flights ourselves as our guests will most likely be coming from different locations and at different times.

I had to pay a $100 deposit for Dreams Palm Beach. From what I have seen it is pretty standard to have to pay a deposit to hold the date.

What type of fabric/material did you all choose for your bridesmaids dresses? I like the look of satin dresses but don't want my girls to be too hot.
