Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone had their wedding website up and running? Do you have a good picture of a map of the resort grounds and a picture of the area with our resort listed on it so our guests can see how far it is from the airport or how far away their resort is from ours? Or any advice on what is important to include in the website? I would love to see some of the websites from the brides that have gotten married or are currently planning. Thanks!

@@missy22214 Hi Missy! I have asked a lot of people regarding the timeline of the wedding day, when it should start and how it should flow. Here is my basic outline of our wedding day in January: Ceremony starts at: 4pm Family pictures: 4:30-5pm Couple pictures: 5-6pm (sunset pictures) Cocktail hour: 6-7pm Reception: 7-9pm Party continues at the bar: 9pm-close Everyone has recommended to check to see when the sunsets on your wedding day. Here is a link to help you http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=923 I guess it just depends on what is important to you. The pictures are super important to us and our photographer actually recommended us doing it this way so he has the whole sunset hour just with us to take pictures. If saying your vows during sunset is what is important to you, then I would push the ceremony to a later time. I just didn't want our couple pictures to be taken in the dark on the beach I hope that helps! But for sure ask your photographer and the wedding corrdinator. Happy Planning, Kristen.

@@aborgesbride Our wedding date is late January and we have been able to get flight prices. Have you tried within the last few weeks? I can email you my travel agents info and you can contact her if you like? Or Tammy, the person that runs this website, always recommends using their travel agents. Here is the link you have to fill out http://wrighttravelagency.com/inquiry/ Hope that helps! -
I am so sad that I missed the webinar this morning. I have been planning and waiting for this for months now and there was just no way I could be at home this morning. My sister's boyfriend died yesterday from cancer. We all have been trying to be there for her and so the webinar didn't even cross my mind. When I got back home at 2pm and logged onto the website that's when it hit me that the webinar was today. Did anyone record it or take notes? My techie and husband-to-be also said there was a site we could use to send large files up to 2gb for free at https://www.wetransfer.com/ if that helps? I just feel like I am at a disadvantage planning this wedding without hearing the webinar.

Can anyone recommend a travel agent that has worked with Now Resorts in the past? I was thinking about getting a few quotes here shortly. Thanks! -
Are Engagement Pictures Really Necessary?
CurlyKristen replied to TinkerSofi's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I don't think it is necessary, just that it depends on how important photography is to the couple. We plan to take engagement photos at our fair in June because it will kinda be a throwback to our first date that was at an amusement park. We also are having one of my friends from work take the pictures. He is way into photography and has done lots of engagements and a few weddings so we are saving using him. -
Thanks everyone for their encouraging words! I totally understand that my wedding isn't even on their radar right now. And with all the reviews I have read and brides that I have talked to that have gotten married at Now Sapphire they all say that communication is horrible. I do plan to attend the webinar and hopefully get a better idea of what is to come and have some of my questions answered. I am actually super excited for the webinar. It's just hard feeling like something is missing like communicating with your resort and having the open relationship with your wedding coordinator as you plan your wedding. I know...I know..welcome to planning a destination wedding

Getting Married At Courthouse?
CurlyKristen replied to beccafries's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
My fiance wants to keep the court house super low key. He told me that he doesn't want to be asked "do you take this woman to be your wife..." because he wants all that saved for our wedding day in Mexico and keep that day very special and not like a vow renewal. I don't know if that is possible but I know I will try to keep it as minimal as possible for him. We're spending all this time planning, all the money making sure things go perfectly in Mexico...I wouldn't want anything to take away from that. -
So needed a good laugh! Thanks for sharing!

@@Melissa Erling after looking over the wedding book and a spreadsheet of wedding costs from one of the brides on BDW, it looks like Now Sapphire charges you $10 per chair for the upgrade. Hope that helps! Happy Planning, Kristen. @@meganator22 I am so sad to hear that they won't allow bond fires I have always thought I would have one at our wedding for guests to step away and enjoy some s'mores. I guess we will have to save that for our San Diego at home reception.

@@KK2013 Thanks for sharing. I really want everyone to be comfortable and not be worrying about the tops of their dress or trying to pull it up all night.
