  1. Congrats! I'm not there yet But hopefully soon!
  2. Etsy has some amazing vendors! A quick search there will bring up numerous vendors!
  3. Agreed- bag is perfect! Is be curious to hear if the quality is as good as it looks in the pic! Thanks for sharing!
  4. I have heard shipping ahead is never recommended and you should also plan on taking anything you want to use with you!
  5. I am doing custom made clutches (which they are using in lieu of flowers at the ceremony), silk robes for the wedding morning, the custom hanger for their dress, along with their hair/makeup and wedding day jewelry. I will also pay for their dresses. For the guys, my FI will be buying their ties, and buying them watches.
  6. Not at all!!! It just pulls music you have in your iTunes library and then allows you to assign them, fade in/out, organize etc!
  7. We have 5, 7 and 10 day quotes from 3 different departure airports in Canada. It shouldnt matter. The inventory issue would be an even BIGGER reason for your TA to get a contract locked down for you ASAP. Good luck!!!!
  8. My family and many of my friends seem to be pretty excited and already pestering us to see when they can put down deposits etc.. but my FI's family and friends seem a lot less enthused. I will feel really bad for him if they dont come through for him. He comes from a smaller family anyway, so he knew his "side" would be on the light side.. but I just don't want him to sad inside that we chose to do a DW. (It's my second wedding, his first... so it's a big deal for him- and I know he would be heartbroken) I think he's worried about the guys he is asking to be groomsmen- and that they may say no because they dont want to spend the money to attend.
  9. Calgary Bride.. not getting married until 2016, but here planning! Congrats to you all!
  10. Yup- Im basically going to copy the ideas from this thread cause they have it all covered!! Great ideas!
  11. I think I will run a test with both weights and decide once I see them. the 80lb will make it more realistic, but the 92lb will be a lot more substantial. I have a sample of the 105lb and it is WAY to heavy... I don't like it at all. My mom has a professional printer, and I am visiting her next weekend- we will be using her printer (She self published a book last year and used this printer so she is confident it will print nicely... but we are going to test it with both 80lb and 92lb paper. Yes, I love paper garden but found the prices much better at papercircle.ca. They have the paper I am wanting at both... (Curious Metalics- Ice Gold) so I am ordering from them. For the bording pass jackets I am using a Matt cardstock from Michaels that was a heavier weight and it fed fine through my printer here at home. But I want the print quality higher for the actual boarding passes- so they are being done by mom!
  12. I just went and looked and its still there.... try just googling for it maybe? Its called weddingDJ and it is from Steam Clock Software.
  13. plug your wedding colors in on pinterest and you will get tons of ideas and reassurance that it will be beautiful! Pinterest has become a great resource for colors!
  14. what weight of paper did you use for the actual tickets? I had originally thought I would use 80lb text weight for the ticket portion, and 92 lb cover weight for the holders, but now that my sample papers have come in I don't know if that offers enough weight to the actual tickets. They will be more realistic in the lighter weight.. but will they come across as cheap looking? (using Curious Metalics- Ice Gold) What weight did everyone else use? I'm likely over thinking things... but I want them to look perfect!
  15. It was the "wedding DJ" (Has a ring with a music note inside it, with a teal background).... I cant remember how much it was... but if there was a charge, it was cheap! I chose this one after numerous good reviews here on BDW.
  16. Out Of Town Its a bag filled with a few goodies that you can give your guests upon arrival to the destination, that helps them have a magical holiday as they celebrate your wedding. Many use these instead of wedding favors, since they are very useful to your guests for the duration of their stay.
  17. I found most of the measurements here.. although the structure at Plaza Zavas has changed i believe... and the gazebo on the sky deck is the white one not the brown one... http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/72018-official-azul-sensatori-thread/
  18. Im going to add these ebay sellers and vendors on my list of potential sources...thank you! I plan on bringing most of these type of things down with me vs. playing the silly rental fees the hotel charges!
  19. Thanks!! Yeah, I have a pretty flat stomach too, but wanted just a tiny bit more support since I want my figure to show and not worry about standing straight and sucking it in all day! HAHA... the dress you referenced is very similar to ones I am looking at! Im actually leaning toward a custom dress based on designer inspirations after reading the WHOLE thread about knock off dresses (Yes, the whole thread hahah)... after all that reading, I was sold... mainly cause I can order something in the exact design/sizing and fabrics I love... so I can take parts of various designs and make a version just for me. (Plus I cant argue with the savings in price!)
  20. Yeah- sounds like for whatever reason, your TA is not willing to lock you into a contract yet! Which is really in her best interest, since it will direct ALL your guests to her agency (She makes the commission from the resort/tour operator), and ultimately means more business for her! It also allows your guests to put down a small deposit and then pay if off over the coming months before your big day. If she waits too much longer, some may book with their own agency (or online) if you already told them date/location as soon as they think they find a great rate... and this will hurt any credits/bonuses you will receive for bringing the wedding (and all your guests) to the resort!
  21. I would suggest talking to a Canadian TA who works with these resorts regularly ASAP to negotiate a rate for you and your guests... plus they often can get your a few extra perks!! My TA has been fabulous and specializes in destination weddings... I totally recommend her (She works with brides from coast to coast). Her name is Laurielee (Laurielee.ca)
  22. Hi girls question- the styles of dresses I am looking at would not look good with a lace up corset back and I want the sleek look of either zipper or button back to the dress, however I am not keen on wearing garments underneath. (Spanx etc). I have read that some have had 'Hidden corsets" made inside their dresses that allow you to cinch in a little with eye/hook closures and zip up your dress and allow for a smooth look with full support. Anyone have experience with this? Did it work as well as it sounds? I just dont want to wear a separate long torso bra or corset under my dress unless it is built in. I dont want to worry about pulling at it all day, or it being visible through the dress! TIA!
