    Congratulations! You are in the right place... So much support and great information here!!! I think the reason mexico is so popular for us Canadian brides to be, is because of the amount of all inclusive options there are. Aruba doesn't have as many choices in that area, and it's always nice to have a package negotiated which have your guests spending less once they arrive.     Water water and more water. At least 1/2 your weight in ounces every day will really help keep cravings at bay and help flush toxins and bloat.     We aren't doing a letter, but we did direct people to our wedding website for more information about the destination etc. since we aren't inviting a ton of people (will probably have 80-100 max... Many of which are family and includes kids). We are just sending out invites FAR in advance (18 months) no STDs so people can start saving and putting down deposits ASAP.     For me it's because I want a custom fit and small changes to original designs to make it exactly perfect. Sure, I could spend $5000+ at the salon, or find a "designer dress" at TJ Max for a $1000, but id rather have something made just for me!

    My bridesmaids are doing clutches and I am not doing anything, but I have a bright sash on my dress that has the wedding Colors in a floral/feather pattern. I am thinking of the giant round balloons... But not a bouquet. My 7 yr old twin boys will be walking me down the aisle so I want my hands free to hold their hands.

    I have been to both regions several time and in the end, for us- the selection of the quality AI resorts we were looking for, swayed us to Cancun region vs. Cabo. The beaches and proximity was originally very attractive for Cabo- but there is just soooo much more to choose from for 5 star, family friendly and modern AI over on the otherside. Since we will have several families with kids- the undertow also was a negative in Cabo because it's hard to convince kids they can't go in the ocean when it's right there! (But it really isn't swimable in most areas)

    Congrats and welcome. There are a few Canadian boards here too- as there are a bunch of Canadian girls here that are familiar with some of the challenges and differences dealing with travel from here! You will find a ton of info on these boards!! You are in good hands!
