  1. Woops! Thanks!!!! Hahaha- I read your original post back when I was under 150 posts and couldn't see the pics- so didn't remember seeing them! They look like they did a great job! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yup- they changed it to white and I'm SO Disappointed! I do not like the look of white gazebos as all... So I'm no longer considering the sky deck as an option for my wedding... The beach it is, I guess. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Stunning!!!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Agreed- ask the questions! Besides, you will need to know how many packages you have locked in, when your deadline to sign the contract is as well as the "book by" date, and what the deposit is for your guests to secure the rate. All these are common questions and need to be asked- don't be shy! Plus you may have incentives available to you- you don't want to miss out on those! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. @@Kingz85 Congrats!!! Sounds like things went awesome! What ceremony site did you choose? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Please share your photos! Yes, that's why I'm only choosing to go with dressmakers that show progress shots... I'm pretty sure I will go with jasmines (plus their website and Facebook have tons of photos of dresses they made) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Sounds good! I will add this to my plans for the site visit since I wanted to do something similar Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Do they give you the lengths? I am there in June and planning on measuring the lengths between posts etc on the new gazebo, since I think all the dimensions on the official sensatori thread are still of the old plaza zavaz structure before it came down and was rebuilt a few months ago, I will share when I'm back! 8. Love love love this idea and stealing it for sure! My kids adore making these so it will be great fun to let them participate in a DIY project! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. My two boys are walking me down the aisle (they will be 9) and my step son who will be 15 will likely stand up next to his dad as one of the groomsmen, but at this point he said he doesn't want to "stand up there for that long"... Teenage boys! Ugg... FI could care less if his son doesn't want to be a part of it- strange relationship... He will be dressed like the other guys in the wedding party and will be in all the photos etc... If he decides not to stand up and be a part of the actual ceremony- at least we tried. My boys however are excited! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. There is a LONG thread here on BDW where brides have shown their dresses and recommended few great sites... It's an amazing thread with tons of tips for ordering the perfect dress from overseas! I think it's called "knock off dresses"... Something like that... I found them there! (Jasmines). They look the best but there are a few depending on style that seem to get rave reviews from brides here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. 2 dress bride here too! Tight mermaid for ceremony and a short sassy number for the reception. I'm having designer dress inspirations made custom in China. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I LOVE Pinterest for simple and elegant ideas! Haha... For me it's been a great inspiration! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. If you read through the thread there are several very reputable seamstresses that have been tried and tested by BDW brides who can attest for the various companies. Some even send samples of the fabric/lace. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I can't say enough amazing things about our wedding planner/TA. She doesn't charge for her wedding planner services and is amazing... Laurielee.ca is her website. She has been phenominal to work with and her deals and relationships with tour operators and resorts have been excellent! Bonus deals for us have been stellar. Laurilee works for Tierone travel but specializes on destination weddings through the site mentioned above) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. We are flying our photographer down as well. I am paying her based on a 5 night stay/flights.. And if she chooses to upgrade to 7 nights she can do so. She is one of our favorite photographers locally and does amazing work.... Plus she is originally from Mexico so can easily work with our WC on site and we will be having an assistant assigned to her to help with lighting/equipment Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Yeah- we are thinking of doing a few "experiences" rather than favors... But like you, I will like the idea of OoT bags and will still do them unless I can talk myself out of it! We plan on doing a catamaran cruise/s'mores beach party as our welcome event and then a golf tournament at a local course later in the week. (With fun prizes). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Yup- dont let their ommision to ask for final payment be a stressor! Pay it when they ask, and keep it in the bank until then... It seems that dealing with coordinators leading up to the big day is a slow process for all- knowing this, just focus on you and your FI and know that your wedding day will come in a short week and you will have an AMAZING day!
  18. I'm looking at silhouettes I like online and the plan on going with my crew to a few bridal salons to get a sense on what looks good on my body and exactly what I want. Then I plan on ordering it custom from one of the Chinese seamstress companies that have been well reviewed here on BDW (I have it narrowed down to 2 companies). I will likely order 2 dresses for my wedding, tight mermaid for the ceremony and short and sassy for reception... Both based on dresses I decide look best from designer gowns I try locally. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Don't leave us hanging.... Then what?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I'm telling you- our tastes are the same! Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Since it includes airfare, accommodations, AI and transfers for 7 nights so far my guests haven't been to shocked... Keep in mind as Canadians the tax on the packages are $300-$400 a person. If we chose a date between May-October it would have been $500+ less but that doesn't work for us. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Per person!!! It's a 5 star in high season, so it was to be expected Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Ours is looking at $2000 taxes in for flight-accommodation AI package for 7 nights at sensatori. It high season (feb 29) so that didn't help! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Luckily for me my FI hasn't realized that it will be $15 more a chair! Hahah I'm saving money in other ways so it's ok right? My REAL anger will come if they charge us twice for the same chairs... Since I want to use them at both the reception and ceremony. They obviously aren't going to ship double chairs to the venue- and our ceremony space will be torn down before out reception starts... But I'm picturing a charge of $30/bum having to be explained to the FI Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
