My Real Touch Flowers

Who was your vendor for these? They are beautiful! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
We will be hosting a private reception with family style dining (communal sides placed on tables and passed entrees) for our guests (around 75 including kids) and the dancing with DJ after dinner. We are paying for 5 hrs... And using the money we originally were going to use for a cocktail reception immediately following the ceremony, toward the extra time since we want it to be a real party (it will then likely carry on to a club/lounge somewhere on site). Rather than a private cocktail reception we will direct people on our program to a specific lounge for an informal option that takes advantage of the AI concept- while entertaining guests during photos. kmk2016 replied to JanetandDan2014's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I ended up googling this while you were gone (congrats by the way!!!!) and had decided to do it- but I'm even MORE convinced now that I read your version.... It's perfect and I will definitely be adding this to my ceremony! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

are you having a shower at all? If so, you could offer them to the hostess to use as prizes? Or maybe give them to your BM's prior to leaving for your DW as a pre-wedding thank you? They are pretty and it would be a shame to return them, but I think it would be to hard to repackage them in smaller bottles and I'm sure you could use the $ somewhere else if another idea doesn't work! The night before.....???
kmk2016 replied to selassie11's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
This is what we are planning too... I want to spend as much time as possible with him and my kids... Right now we are considering having the kids stay with my parents the entire week- but i think we will change this to just the night before and the night of the wedding... Other than that they will be with us (at least the younger 2)... For us, the whole point of a dW is to spend as much time with our loved ones (and each other) and it not just be about a few hours at a ceremony and reception... So throwing tradition a little out the window! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Are you working with a TA? If so they can pull this super quickly. Also the Lomas website and the Fives website has a lot of this info... They emailed me same day when I contacted them originally looking for basic info- and then moved to a TA when I made final decision to hold at sensatori instead (same group) also the brides dress rehearsal is a great way to see all the locations in person. I would resend your request or ask your TA since as mentioned, I got a reply same day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No registry for us. If I do get a request to host a shower on my behalf I will request that it's a get together with no gifts. Those who insist on still giving a gift will likely give cash (that's how FI's family is), but if we get physical gifts we will accept them graciously but need nothing. It's why I'm hoping no one offers to host a shower! As for the bachelorette, we plan on having a couple (one at home, one in Vegas)... And of course no worries about gifts then! Starting To Plan - Need Tips
kmk2016 replied to samantha22's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Welcome. Best place to start is here!!! You found it! BDW is a great resource. read a bit about the resorts people are posting about- tons of great threads and answers to nearly every question you can think of (and then some!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
show us your rings!
kmk2016 replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
here is mine. Tiffany Soleste.... It was my perfect dream ring and FI knew it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
What does your contract say? Once you are given your contract all your specific details will be shown. But they will definitely be basing your pricing on an estimate of needed rooms- how else would they be able to come up with a price or incentives? If you don't have any rooms on hold, and just a price I'm not sure how that would work... What of the hotel sells out with another wedding? Then what? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Azul Beach Weddings 2015
kmk2016 replied to ng2015's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I don't think this applies to Canadian Brides- just an FYI...at least it never used to. Things may have changed, but there is a lot more legal stuff involved for Canada. (Just in case a Canadian bride is reading this since there are a ton here on BDW) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Normally if you go over your block you have what's called an attrition rate (this is often 10% but check what yours is specifically) this protects you on either side without "penalty"... You can book 10% more rooms or have 10% less than expected without any changes in price etc. Once you pass the attrition allowance, you need to renegotiate a second contract... Sometimes this can be cheaper the second time around (or offer even deeper credits/bonuses as a thank you), or higher (more likely as there will be less rooms available at the resort and closer to your actual date of travel).... Best thing to do it guesstimate as close as possible how many rooms you truly need, and then have your guests put their small deposits down quickly to secure the rate- they will then have a long time to finish paying it off. ??? Are you working with a TA? That's crazy! Mine is also the $200 total for our deposit, which then allows us to hold 48 rooms Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yup- people don't realize that you pay extra expenses even though it's at an all inclusive... They think it's all included, even the reception and decor. My guess is her friends are coming as a holiday but will not infringe on your wedding celebrations. (Unless you extend the offer) they will likely not come to any of your events and are simply looking at it as a way to go away for a week and it lowers your friends costs going from a single to a quad occupancy significantly. We have already heard that extras will be coming to our wedding (parents of 2 sets of friends- to help with the grand kids etc)... At first I was a bit miffed- but have since extended an invite to all our events... And sent them a formal invite to our wedding. Figuring , the more the merrier- just hoping the "extra people" don't get out of hand in numbers! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

2016! Lol... Not a typo! We wanted to allow everyone plenty of time to plan/save $, and since many of our guests already have plans for this coming Christmas holidays (ourselves included travelling with my MoH and her family to WDW and Disney Cruise), we didn't think it fair to have people have to save for another expensive vacation shortly thereafter.... So we chose 2016 and are sending out booking info/invites this July- allowing people a year to save (final payments won't be due until end of October 2015- so ahead of any Christmas spending that may pop up) hopefully it solves everyone's worries and we don't get a ton of backlash over price! Frustrating huh? Funny- my FI was concerned with the price until this week- we are in Hawaii for my work as I type this, and he turned to me and said wow- this trip would cost WAY more than it's costing our our friends/family to come to the wedding huh?! Every time you turn around you have to pay for something- the price for the AI in Mexico is actually a great deal for what they get.... I felt a lot better, since my family are all big travellers and the price didn't phase them, but for his friends and family they aren't quite as used to it... So knowing he can feel confident that it's worth the $$ when he talks to "his people"- makes me sigh a bit of relief. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@@kcole123 I'm in Calgary... I should make a work trip up to Edmonton and book some appointments and we can try on dresses together! I have my entire bridal party in town, but I think it would be fun to try on dresses without them pretending things look good when they don't only to appease me! Haha we could be totally honest for each other! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Such a hard decision for me, as we are doing chocolate (or gold) Tiffany chairs and I fear the white gazebo just does not match the look I'm hoping to achieve. I wasn't all that thrilled with walking on the sand either- maybe I will inquire about additional wooden aisle runners (more money- sigh)... Since one is supplied already Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
