Post pics of Groom's Cakes
kmk2016 replied to Patti's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
If I was having a wedding here at home, we'd definitely have a grooms cake, since they are usually a lot of fun- but for a destination wedding in worried about the onsite baker making ONE Nice cake let along 2!! It's one area that makes me very nervous! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

As an FYI/ after reading through this entire thread for a week, and deciding I would be definitely going this route- one thing that was clear was that some vendors were better of others at certain styles,,.. There are some that can send samples of multiple types of lace they use, and offer a variety of options, and some only have 1 or 2 types that they use. There are some great companies out there for sure! This looks to be one of them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Words For Shell Ceremony
kmk2016 replied to JanetandDan2014's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I think you are meant to have your guests stand and walk to the shoreline with you... And not do this portion of the ceremony from the "pews". That's how I have seen it in my google searches. It's just that much easier when you are beachfront and not at a non-beach location. (Sky deck) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
The gazebo on the sky deck is now white, not the old brown one (which I loved)... All the dimensions etc are found on the official azul sensatori thread. As for set up fees for decor brought with you, that is something best negotiated on site and must be paid in cash. The most brides have been charged has been $250 USD but you can likely negotiate a lot less depending on what you need done. $250 usually is charged for full decor from lights/lanterns to napkins. Same question... I was going to do this as well (as was my FI for his guys...) where did you order? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
We are thinking 4pm too- I'll get feedback from you afterward to see if the timing worked! Nope my FI will be working and can't away, so I'm going with my MoH... She's pumped haha! I will take a ton of pics and share all the deets... If there is anything specific you want to know, just let me know! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Words For Shell Ceremony
kmk2016 replied to JanetandDan2014's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Yes... You would want to make sure you don't have groups of people waiting for an elevator to get down!! Kind of takes the flow out of the idea... But it would be such a great moment if it could work! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Edmonton Bride- Need Travel Agent
kmk2016 replied to angelajackson's topic in Canadian Destination Wedding Group
I'm not Edmonton- but Calgary and I can't say enough great things about my TA who has some amazing relationships and has been able to pull some crazy bonus deals out of her hat for me! Her name is laurielee (laurielee.ca)... Send her an email! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Awesome! I am heading down next month for the Brides Dress Rehearsal to see all the actual sites in person and to taste the food/cake/drinks... Looking forward to seeing it all in person! I look forward to seeing your plans come together! What time are you thinking for your ceremony? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This CAN work, but so can working with a reputable and professional TA that has relationships with both the operators (like Sunwing) and the resorts. There are many fabulous TAs out there who have great relationships and thus get added perks for their bride like free rooms, upgrade bonuses, free wedding events and other added value that an operator or hotel direct won't necessarily offer to one-off brides. We found that the price was identical going direct to negotiate and via our fabulous TA- but she wrangled added perks and free add-ons that are going to add up to almost $9,000! Bottom line, work with someone you feel comfortable with and who wants to make the whole process as easy as possible! There are lots of options out there- just make sure you go with your gut! Sensatori is definitely family friendly- one of the best in fact! They DO have a section of adult only rooms in one building but 90% of the resort is catering to families with children and teens. This was the main reason we chose it as out location... That and the fact we are foodies and the food here is supposedly fabulous! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Words For Shell Ceremony
kmk2016 replied to JanetandDan2014's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I love this idea! Especially if you are on a deck and can't have immediate access to the ocean! I actually may like this idea even better! It becomes almost a "guest book" so to speak!!! You could also gather the shells, and then immediately following the ceremony- almost as a recessional, it could lead out to the ocean (led by Bride and Groom), and everyone could toss them as a group as a final conclusion to your ceremony?! Welcome Jade! You came to the right place.,, even reading through this thread from the start is a great read and will offer you many suggestions and ideas. There are some great brides here who have a wealth of info from their past weddings and many like you and I, who are in the planning process! Plenty to read... But lots of good info! Get involved in your specific resort's forum... Get to know other brides planning events around the same date, or region, or theme... Check out (and comment) on posts that are interesting... You WILL get there sooner than you think! Once you start to become a part of the board's community it happens quicker than you think! It seems daunting but it pushes you to be involved and share! It only took a week for me once I decided to actually participate here rather than lurk! Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Where are you located? I have a great Canadian TA I can recommend, and this site is sponsored by a great TA that helps many US brides Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
