This was the case for a close friend of mine as well. In one of the most touching tributes to his future in laws, her fiancé took HER last name to carry the line forward with their kids. Her parents were sooo touched- and it was seriously one of the most amazing parts of the wedding. It showed how truly great this man was... And he has proudly carried her last name for over a decade now, along of course with their 3 kids... 2 of which are boys. The name will carry on due to a totally unorthodox gesture. Ahhhh that's exciting and heartbreaking all rolled into one. As happy as you surely are for your BFF, it's gotta hurt a bit to have this special person no longer there for you- that's natural! Don't let these set backs make you or your FI regret your destination wedding- it will be wonderful still- and maybe you can find a way to incorporate/include those you really wanted there? Skype? It would be a fun way to include your bestie... I'm sure she is as crushed as you are that she can't be there for you... It's ok to be disappointed! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am entering my second marriage, with the world's most laid back and easy going man. I have 2 young kids from a previous marriage and thus kept my name after divorcing because I wanted to have the same name as my children (I grew up in a broken home wherer my step father (his name) my mother (her maiden name) and I (my real dad's name) grew up with different last names- I HATED it. That being said, mr laid back is saying he's ok with me hyphenating my ex's name with his last name... So I keep the connect with my kids, but honor my new marriage. I doubt I will use the hyphen in business or legal papers, but will probably do so in daily life. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are you in canada or us? Each operate differently when it comes to all inclusive. If you are from us wright travel runs this board and is great... If you are Canadian I can point you in the right direction to someone fabulous. She is a TA and destination wedding planner and doesn't charge! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Without using a TA you will likely not get a great rate. In addition you will risk your group being split if resort sells out and will miss out on any extra bonuses great TAs have in the arsenal for brides. For normal travel I never use a TA but for a wedding I wouldn't have even considered going without! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Are you working with a reputable TA? If so- ask her why the discrepancy. If you are comparing the exact dates, then a good TA should be able to get you the same rates. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Start getting to know some of the brides planning at your same resort or with similar styles/ideas and you will hit it before you know it! It's a great community here- and I'm sure that once you start posting back and forth it will hit 250 super quick!! Good luck and welcome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Eloping- First Dance Yes Or No?!?!
kmk2016 replied to futuremrsh14's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I say DO IT!!!! I dont like first dances normally cause it is such an intimate moment and seems odd to have a group of people staring as you share that time dancing to a song that means something to you.... so the fact you can share this moment alone on the beach is AMAZING! I also think you should surprise him maybe by walking down the aisle to a song you both love.- 10 replies

Coral/fucshia/magenta and orange here! Coral looks good on most everyone with a bit of a tan! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I know it's not on your list but the karisma properties have packages for Hindu weddings I believe. They may be worth adding to your potential resort lists! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

welcome and congrats! You have found a great place to start... many past and upcoming brides are here planning alongside you and you can get some great ideas for decor, location etc... its great!! I would recommend talking to a travel agent as well- they can certainly help you with ideas on resorts/locations! Have fun!!!

Biggest stressor is that we are asking our guests (and bridal party) to spend so much money on our wedding by attending. I feel guilty- but know I need to drop it and not worry: those who can make it will... And those who can't will be missed but not resented for their decisions... But easier said than done. Eeeek! You have me SO excited to attend in 3 weeks with my MoH! We are 99% sure we will be holding our wedding at Sensatori but want to see it all in person to make sure! Arg, I had told myself no more sky deck after the change from the brown to the white gazebo but you may be convincing me back! Hahah.... I may have to get over the look of the white gazebo for that view! Any idea how long of a precessional/aisle it is up on the sky deck? We are wanting a long precession... Is that possible here? Or is it pretty short? I'm there soon but I can't wait! Hahah (Make sure you post this on the BDR thread too- I know brides are anxiously waiting for your report!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think the only stipulation is the $500 credit for new bookings only. But you (I believe) are welcome to attend the rehearsal. As for mixing in some of your own items and some of their patterns/items I don't think it's a problem. You just pay by the item vs the package. I will let you know since I won't be going with the magical moments package but there are pieces I plan on incorporating and paying for ala carte. I Broke The Cardinal Rule...
kmk2016 replied to LissaSou's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Can you ask your friend for the woman's contact info for the seamstress in Calgary? I would love to use her for future alterations! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
There is a VERY active board on another forum about Jasmine's bridal (a custom shop out of a china) that is amazing.., I've been following it and the dresses being created for brides are simply breath taking... So my decision has been made! I'm going to set some appointments to go "no limit" dress shopping to get an idea of silhouettes that look great and designers I love- and then will have Jasmines make my dresses (ceremony/TTD and reception). My BMs are excited that we get to go try on $20,000 dresses! They will also have their BM dresses made over seas which allow me to treat them and keep their costs down considering their expenses in attending the wedding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would think it's ok because they are OTC... As long as you clearly identify what all the different contents on for your guests etc... I think it's fine. Though- it may be safer to get individually packed OTC drugs and assemble them in a bag. I don't think I would take anything that wasn't sealed (even if a friend pre-bagged them)... Plus Cuba customs can sometimes be funny about stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We finally settled on a Karisma Property...because of the look of the resorts and their quality when it comes to gourmet inclusive offerings. 90% sure it will be Sensatori but I'm heading down in 3 weeks with my MOH for the June Dress Rehearsal to make sure I love it as much in person. (There's a chance I would choose Generations RM too- but I want to keep the price reasonable for our guests so I'm considering Fives as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
