  1. Does the babyonline version give you photos at mid-production? If so, I would go with them.. they sound like a great company from everything I have read (And I have been madly reading since this is my route for my dress. Im paying for my BM dresses too since i feel guilty having to spend so much already to attend the wedding, so I am having them choose a style and will be sending the order- babyonline seemed to do a great job on the flowy dresses for sure. just make sure you send them a zillion pictures you can find online of every angle and close up- and do your measurements with someone who can do them exactly- and I think you will be uber happy!! I cant wait to follow your process! Make sure you keep posting here to keep everyone up to date on the progress. This thread was really active for a while, but seems quiet lately- maybe you will change that! HAHA
  2. Hey girls... thought I would share, since I just happened upon this sale at myhabit! They are having a wedding sale! They have some gorgeous dresses for $100-$300, (Designer ones no less!!!) bridesmaid dresses, veils shoes accessories... everything!!!! Amazing deals! http://myhabit.com/ref=qd_mr_per_l?refcust=SQDCDGEWUDJILXXKFFK6SGR4YI You have to sign up (i think) to see the deals... but TOTALLY worth it (free) IMO! Ok- Im heading back to add more to my cart! Happy Shopping!
  3. I think some of the bad outcomes happen when people want to either change the style too much and the results dont result in how they envisioned, or they dont communicate clearly/politely. Most I have seen that took their measurements correctly and corresponded nicely, got pretty fantastic results! I like "Your dress" better than the Reem Acra... they are both pretty but the sequin on yours is breath taking and the blush color would be amazing. I think $200 is great for that dress... I would do it!!!
  4. Yup/ this is my plan too. I'm definitely going replica route after reading this entire thread and reading a very active/long thread on the weddingbee forum on the topic. I will go shopping to make sure the dresses I love actually look as great on as I hope and then will work with these companies to custom build my perfect dress to my measurements. I'm going to order early... So if God forbid, anything goes wrong- I can have time for plan B, but I'm confident they will do the job! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I'm 90% sure I have my two dresses decided on. Ceremony: off white Vera wang grace... With sash to match my Colors... And reception switching to Monique L'huillier Bliss 1330 in a champagne. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Absolutely @@malika2014 I will take pics of the sites. There is a karisma BDR thread where everyone posts too! But I will try to remember to come back and show you the options! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. @@tygrrlily Try carabridal as well- heard good things. I'm surprised they couldn't replicate for you... It seems pretty straight forward! It's sooo pretty! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Ps I think off white or blush would be great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. If you go to the weddingsbylomas website all your pricing is there for approved Karisma vendors. Both approved DJ options are listed. There are potentially cheaper DJs outside that list but remember you need to add $800 outside vendor fee for this option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. In actually have read a few reviews about hair/makeup and they have been excellent, they use MAC cosmetics and all the reviews I have read were good! They do a trial the day before and take notes of anything you liked/didn't like... And sound like they do a great job! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Laurielee didn't need anything more than $200 for me/FI to get our 48 package contract. Then people have 3 months to take one of the 48 and put down their deposit- balance due 2 months before we leave. Once we "sell out" that first 48 we get a second contract. 11. Best way to negotiate is to use a TA that has an existing relationship with the hotel/resort you are considering. These TAs are privy to discounts and bonus offers that the general public calling resort directly simply aren't. You can alway negotiate- but keep in mind with people like photographers, that you are paying not only for the hours they are snapping pictures in front of you- but the often dozens of hours editing and formatting your images. This is a lot of work and these artists deserve in many instances- the rates they charge. The cost of linens and decor set up? Now that's something most all inclusives SHOULD be willing to work with you on, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. If one of the friends she invited is a groomsman's girlfriend it makes a bit more sense... They may have wanted to enjoy a bit of time as a couple on a holiday in addition to the wedding. I agree- as long as they don't attend any of the wedding related events, I wouldn't let it bother you. If the groomsman asks to have his gf attend events alongside him/ then that's a discussion you need to discuss with your FI ahead of time and let him handle it (however you both decide). 13. Yeah- I've seen many brides here planning weddings with 80+ guests at azul beach and I keep wondering how!! I wonder if they haven't formally told the hotel how many guests they have and are in jeopardy of being moved? I'm attending the BDR next weekend and plan on point blank asking the onsite coordinators when I'm there- since I'm ok with sensatori for sure... But would have liked the option of beach, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Duhhhh didn't see that you are in Canada! My TA is amaaaazzzzing and I would totally recommend her! Laurielee.ca she specializes in destination wedding planning and is awesome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. The trick is to work with a great TA to get all the bonuses and to get best advice on when and where to book. Usually the earlier the better! Are you in Canada or US? That makes a big difference too, if you are US, then wright travel runs this board and has some great perks.... I would go there. If you are Canadian, there are some great TAs that us girls can recommend! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Jasmines seems like they are the most expensive out of the more reputable ones, but it's largely because of their expertise in lace and beading. If your dress is more simple I have heard great things about dressilyme and babyonline. These are both companies I'm considering for our BM dresses. gianair was really popular a few years ago but I haven't heard much lately about them. I will be really interested in hearing what their quote is like! In any company I would ensure they will send at least one set of photos to review progress before finishing. It seems this is a great way to eliminate any confusion or disappointment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Has anyone else been told that with a large group (60+) Azul beach could not accommodate a wedding that size? It was my first choice until they wrote and told me that, for a wedding that large I would need to choose one of their sister resorts (we are now settled on Sensatori). I preferred the "1 wedding a day" policy at Azul Beach, and a few other aspects to the resort- so I'm a bit miffed! We would be doing private events... So this was not the concern. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Oh I won't intrude! I will admire from afar and send good vibes/well wishes! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I originally choose Azul Beach but were told by the resort that we couldn't have a group larger than 50 including bridal party- even if we did all private events, and told us we had to look at a sister resort, frustrating that now I'm seeing brides mention large groups and booking there! That being said, we chose Sensatori and the variety of things to do will be appreciated by our guests I think... I have heard that "beach" is a quieter resort for sure. (But even sensatori isn't hopping after 1am) I'm there next week for a site tour and am going to call them on the whole "no groups larger than 50"... Cause it's frustrating that this doesn't seem to be the case! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Hi all So I have 7 yr old twin boys from my first marriage, and my FI has a 14 yr old son from a previous relationship. I want to involve them in the ceremony- but want to do it in a unique way. My boys will be walking me down the aisle... But my FI's son is not interested in standing up and being a groomsman. So whatever we do, we will need to call up FI's son mid-ceremony since he doesn't want to stand at the altar (ahhh 14 yr olds!!) I still want to include all 3 boys somehow... But want to do something unique. I am NOT interested in doing a sand ceremony.... So looking for other ideas along the same idea. Since it's a beach wedding I don't think a unity candle will work either because of the wind... Any ideas that are a bit more interesting? Something that actually is a part of the ceremony, not just a job like handing out programs etc. I want his son to feel special too- and for all three boys to feel like the ceremony is about all of us coming together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. We are going with pant and vests for the groomsmen in a light blue grey and a jacket and pants in same color for my FI. We will likely get them made vs in a store since it ends up being cheaper and then the color will be perfect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. When is your wedding date? It would be fabulous to see a BDW Brodie's wedding while down there for the dress rehearsal! (We are there the 5-9) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Bug spray with deet is going to be your best defence. Doesn't smell great, but does the job! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Unfortunately this is rainy season in Mexico and rain showers are not unexpected, normally however, rain is light and doesn't last all day long. Contact your WC and see if they have contingency plans for weddings if it's raining heavy or if they provide umbrellas. I'm sure despite a bit of rain, it will be beautiful!
