Thanks Tammy! I'm no expert... I was under the pretence that her group booking was with the Canadian tour operator, not the resort- whereby we don't put a deposit on a guaranteed number of rooms, But rather it's a courtesy 90 day hold of pricing via the tour operator who has access to room inventory. That's how mine is set up, and knowing that's Kelly was in Canada and had the same type of agreement I made the assumption- but I also suggested she talk to a Canadian TA who was familiar with the actual rules! In any event I hope it gets straightened out! Bad service is never fun... Especially when planning such an important event! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

But my heart is also 100% set on my BMs in bright tropical colors (Bright shades of pink, magenta) and the guys in a grey. That being said, it wont work will it? Every image I see of a bride in blush has her BMs in either cream, grey or pastel- which I DONT want. The blush I am leaning toward is the warmer pink blush, not the yellow/tan undertones. Should I forget the idea of the blush ceremony dress (going off- white lace for reception), or could my two ideas come together?

Wow!!!! Good catch! Thank you sooo much! Fixed! I knew I could rely on you BDW brides to help! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think it's totally fine to send it out electronically! My TA actually supplied us with kind of a STD that links to the booking process, and says... Formal Invitations to follow. She said it's the easiest way to get people booking sooner rather than later so I say go for it! I think the website will always be a work in progress for us brides. Focus on the important stuff and all your other stuff can load slowly after people are booked and getting excited. I noticed you didn't use your new monogram on your std! I liked it! (Saw it on the other thread!) hahaa Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Maybe a company like shutterfly that let's you design your own postcard or long phot card? They are often used for baby announcements and Christmas cards... But I'm sure you can customize them to announce your engagement. I've never heard of a couple sending these out though... Normally it's parents who announce their kids engagement... Or like you said, host an engagement party. This may sound silly but what is the purpose of letting those not invited to the wedding know that you are engaged if you aren't having any kind of celebration you want to invite people to? (Sorry- this may be the custom, I'm just not familiar). But I'm sure you can design something cute! Even vista print could have something maybe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow! How many rooms do you have booked via them currently? I would try and move my business... Seriously! Call laurielee today- I just talked to her so I know she is in the office. Tell her what's going on and see if she can transfer the account and get you some real service! She will be honest and tell you if she can't do it or if there is some big reason why it's not a good idea. I knew your deposits are due in 2 weeks but this is crunch time and I would cut and run... If you need her number pm me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We are soooo lucky to have LaurieLee... I had no idea when this whole process started, how important it would be to have a great TA- in fact I almost didn't use one!... But it see to be a constant stressor for brides. I agree- go to her boss or the management of the agency/parent company she works under.... You deserve better service and they need to fix this ASAP. I guess that's another peril! You won't know unless your guests email you and say they couldn't get a room- or your WC may tell you they are needing to move your group to another property because they are over sold (it's rare I think... But I have seen it happen on these boards numerous times). Since they won't know how many people are actually in your group, they may look and say - oh that kcole group is only 5 rooms, let's move them to property "x" and upgrade them all to keep them happy, not knowing you have 10 other rooms who are part of you! If you are then split between two hotels, it kinda defeats the purpose of a DW for some people. Are people not wanting to book with her because her pricing isn't as good (cause you should ask her to match), or is it her service levels? I would really try to ask your guests to put up with her (if it's not pricing) for the sake of less stress on you for your wedding and planning. They don't have to interact THAT much with the TA! No- you won't have to pay anything for them booking with another TA so long as they are at the same resort. I would make sure you get all their confirmation numbers and keep a spreadsheet of name, reservation # and TA that you can supply to your WC just prior to arrival so they can ensure they are all on file as one large group. The only major problem I have seen here, is if the hotel goes into "sell out status" where they need to move your group to a sister property. If you are all not grouped/coded together- it can get messy. You will of course run into the potential of not know how many people have completed their bookings, or losing out on potential incentives/bonuses offered through having "x" number of nights booked... But that's not the worst thing that could happen. It may be a good idea to ensure when booking, they have their TA code their stay as wedding- not sure about your resort, but with karisma for example, all guests get coded under wedding in the system which in turn is transfered over to everyone on property. I was told this code stops any time share requests or pestering etc, as well as just codes them as "VIPs" so to speak. (This info was from the WC at my on site visit. Sorry that you are dealing with this!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I am officially done making my DIY boarding pass invites and I'm about to stuff envelopes and apply postage. i had a question about etiquette though! There will be a few girlfriends I am seeing this weekend (everyone who will be together is invited to the wedding)... Is it ok not to bother placing these in the mail, and simply hand deliver them (I will still have the envelopes addressed)? Or is that in bad taste? I just would rather not spend the money on postage if I'm going to see them before the mailman will even make it to their doorstep! Also- as a side question- would you put everyone's names on the envelope? (Kids etc), or would you address it A) "Smith Family" B.) "Mr and Mrs Smith and family" C) "Mr and Mrs Smith" We want everyone to know that their kids are invited, and when they go to our online RSVP via our website, all the kids names have been preloaded under the parents names. Invitation Wording... Help Please!
kmk2016 replied to Mandiesue's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I personally, wouldn't reference anything to do with a gift or donation on the invitation. I would save this for your website if you do one, or word of mouth. As for the invitation itself, the only suggestion would be to change the one line... To read either: we invite you together with our parents we... Or please join us, along with our parents... I love the poem! Can't wait to see the finished product! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 5 replies

Once you start interacting with fellow brides and following and participating in threads for your specific DW region and resort it goes quick- don't worry! Welcome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks!!! Yeah our TA did an AMAZING job getting us great rates this far out! I was thrilled by the quote. I'm still worried some will complain (there will always be those that are angry we chose an "expensive resort"... But at the end of the day, it's their choice- but are comfortable knowing if they spend the $, they will have an amazing time at a top notch resort. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Favor Ideas
kmk2016 replied to KScheer's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Sooooo going there! I may even find a way to incorporate the small jars as a "thank you" once we are back to everyone who travelled! Ps- I didn't realize you officially went with Laurielee, she is so awesome! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I wanted ours to be done by a close friend who would have been amazing.... But FI didn't want that, and preferred someone we didn't know. Go figure. I guess we will just use whomever the resort provides for a symbolic ceremony. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is your resort adults only? Pointing that out may be your best option ... If not I would clearly indicate adults only for the applicable events and provide information and rates for baby sitting/child care at the resort. (That only would work if you are still inviting their kids to the week holiday). If you have your website set up for RSVPs you can also only input names that apply and new names can't be added.
