  1. The free kids meal is 100% true. At the brides dress rehearsal the onsite coordinators confirmed. You can pay 50% for kids if they want a smaller portion of what you are serving, or they are free if they are served a meal from the kids menu. This is a pic of the kids meal options.,, plenty of choices for free! What I don't know is, if you can do this and order off kids meal if you opt for a family style or buffet dinner served to other guests. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. If you do a google images search all the images will come up. Just put in locations and specifies you need and voila! Many are pulled from these boards! You will hit 150 quickly don't worry- by participating in this thread and asking questions about things that are important about your wedding/ you will hit the magic number in no time! 3. At home reception. Often held by couples wanting to share in the celebration with those unable to travel for the actual wedding. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Welcome! Not sure if there are other MoBs around,,, Most of us are type A brides who want our hand in every detail! Haha. Once your daughter and her FIance choose a resort and you get to know the other brides planning at that location, the posts come easy! It's a real community here- so even if there aren't other MOBs here, you will feel at home! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Ohhhhh that's a good deal! Especially if you choose the 20 for $125 custom design option! It ends up being $3.25 a bag with the discount!!!! Hopefully they repeat this discount later in the year since I'm not ready yet but will need to order eventually! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Totally agreed! I'm surprised the sound carried back to plaza zavaz, since when we were there the "protected area that had the plaza tucked back from the beach was one thing we noticed. Zocalo terrace proximity to the beach area frequently used for weddings looked like it would be a bit more of a problem. Hmmmm I will definitely ask my WC about other bookings when I pay my final payment. Once I know how many other weddings are happening, I need to keep my fingers crossed that they don't change location/plans once they arrive and see the areas in person! Thanks for the tip! 7. Agreed- that would be so annoying about the music! We are going a DJ so I'm not concerned... But maybe the reason they can't provide that info is because people can add things to a detail sheet up until final payment and someone could add a DJ after you think they are only getting a sound dock... And then what are they supposed to do? Also I wonder if there is some sort of privacy implications there. I certainly wouldn't want another bride being given information on my private events without my knowledge! I share here cause we are all "friends" but I would be upset if I knew my detail sheet was being shared with someone without my consent! When I was there for a site visit there were two receptions with two dj's not THAT far apart... We were surprised that the sound didn't cross over from one party to another. I wonder if your fellow bride had a DJ play louder than usually allowed (could be a reason for the sudden decision to not allow outside DJ vendors! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Yes- I think the confusion here on BDW happens when brides see Canadians being able to do large blocks for 30-50 people with only a minimal deposit ($150 total).... But it's because our packages are done differently and are air/hotel/transfer combined and through a TA who sets up the deal with a tour operator. This is the Canadian system and not the same for US. Unfortunately I haven't seen many hotels for US customers NOT require this type of deposit/room.... I certainly would go with a block vs. hoping their is room when your guests go to book.... That would stress me out! Good luck! I'm sure it will be awesome- if stick with your current TA FOR SURE! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I think the reason the tumblers are so popular is because in many AI resorts the cups they give you for the drinks are tiny and don't keep your drinks cold- so people like having a larger insulated mug/tumbler that they can use for around the pool. I like the idea of water bottles but would likely not be used until home since I don't think people would want to fill water from taps in many DW regions. JMO Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Welcome!! A few of us Canadian girls have been THRILLED with the service level and help that our TA laurielee rosser (laurielee.ca) has been. She has amazing relationships with both the resorts themselves as well as the tour operators that handle AI travel in Canada. She managed to get me amazing pricing nearly 2 yrs out while other Ta's were saying pricing wasn't available yet... All due to her relationships. I strongly reccomend calling or emailing her and asking her for help. She specializes in destination weddings and has been a God send! She set up pricing for my Canadian guests as well as several family members located from Hawaii, Korea and Texas! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. You want to work with a TA that specializes in destination weddings and decide what's truly important for you in a resort and ask them for suggestions on locations that for your needs. There is a lot of options so make sure you know your "must haves" and work from there. For us Karisma properties were a no brainer because of their gourmet inclusive concept... Then we narrowed it down within their properties and finally did a site visit to be sure we chose the one that suited us best! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. What could cause you to choose another location completely? You have your date booked at a resort you like! That's a great thing! I'm February 2016 and our flight/resort block is active and my date and locations for ceremony and reception are reserved! Nothing better than planning ahead! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Travel Agent- namely a travel agent that specializes in destination weddings will make all the difference in everything from pricing, perks and peace of mind! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Weddingbee.com is another forum... the girls there are sometimes snarky (Not the wonderful environment as here), but they are active and have a VERY active thread on Jasmines Bridal where many brides share their mid-production and final product dresses and review their experiences as well as experiences from a few other vendors. It's worth lurking if you are thinking of going that route. As for "Gemma" it is one of the dresses in Vera Wang's classic collection... and Jasmines is considered a true expert and creating inspiration dresses off this design- in fact many (Including myself) like their version better than the original!
  15. yup... I think that included my alterations, but still... my dad (Who helped with my first wedding) near fell off the chair! That's why I am going the Custom Inspiration avenue this time around. Going with a blush Vera Wang Gemma. Then depending on what i can find in a fitted lace dress that doesnt require a bustle that I can wear for the reception, I will either buy locally- or purchase that one online as well.
  16. What store????? I'm dying to know! Last time around I bought a Maggie and it still cost me almost $4500! This time I'm going to go replica overseas... Unless I find a deal like yours for the reception dress!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. We did it for both... The boy had a little "groom" costume... So they matched what the two wore (it was a church wedding and ring bearer was in a little suit and flower girls was in a white dress so looked like the stuffies. I'm sure your nephew would love it... They really were a great way to ask them! I would do it again this time, except I'm consciously not doing ANYTHING I did at my last wedding this time around! Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. There are a bunch of companies that do this.... The most reputable are Jasmines Bridal for anything with lace or beading.... And for more simple dresses dressilyme, carabridal and babyonline get good reviews. I would be careful going with a custom maker who hasn't got a lot of good reviews here or on weddingbees. 19. Stop freaking! It will be fantastic! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. WELCOME! The dress rehearsal is a great idea... I did it earlier this month in preparation of our wedding in February 2016 at Sensatori and it was a perfect way for me to see everything they offered and feel confident it was the right place for ourselves, our friends and our families. We have locked in our date and ceremony/reception locations with the wedding coordinators in Miami and are now slowly planning for our perfect day. We gave our guests lots of notice, with out booking window opening just this past Monday! Looking forward to planning alongside you!
  21. @ yeah- I was planning on Chivari chairs for both both ceremony and reception but it was a double charge (two locations and they wouldn't move them).... So I am settling on just reception. Once I get to the resort I plan on begging the onsite WC if they will use them at both, if not... The white chairs at the ceremony will have to do! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. For those looking at Sarani she also has associate photographers that work for her that have similar style and aesthetic... And work under her guidance, but are a lot less expensive. Something to consider. We aren't using her so i don't have her pricing for this any more- but if you email her she can share. If memory serves it was 1/2-2/3 her price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I was told yesterday by Miami WC that all my chairs (So long as I chose white standard) would be included in my Sky Deck wedding as well. (Regardless of how many). It was a surprise... but a GOOD surprise!
  24. You can buy them for really cheap online and take them down with you (pack flat- easy!) and then have the onsite coordinators hang them for you! Most brides here do that and it works great! karisma charges max $250 to set up all your decor for you that you bring from home and they do an awesome job! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. If you go to official sensatori thread there is additional information and pics/measurements as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
