All have different selling features for sure. We chose Sensatori and did a visit last month just to make sure it was what we wanted... And it was perfect! Our priority was excellent food and service as well as being family friendly. It's big enough where people aren't tripping over one another, but not a mega-complex where we would lose one another over the week. It was a winner by a long shot! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Welcome and congrats! I agree with everything @@acw271011 said! Haha. Starting with a TA is the best advice. We are also getting married in February 2016 and thanks to my TA's great relationships, she was able to get amazing pricing this far out! Good luck and happy planning!! We always buy them at Michaels with a 40% of entire bill coupon. They are $1 a tube and have about a dozen sticks with connectors to make into necklaces or bracelets. With the coupon they work out to .$60 a tube! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We are February 2016 and my TA has actually been thrilled I am so organized as it makes her job easier. She got us amazing rates from Sunwing/Signature even at this stage and our guests are busy booking. I have locked in my reception and ceremony locations, as well as my meal type (protected myself from the price increase in case it came). I will bringing down all my decor including linens. I'm only going to be renting chairs (Chivari), a clear glass Alter table and potentially a chandelier. I will be bringing everything else. I have been working with the Florida WC who so far has been great (but I'm not rushed so maybe that's why I'm happy?), and you of course don't work with the onsite WC until arrival. We booked our DJ and I have signed our contract with our photographer as well. (Photographer is an outside vendor and I wanted to make sure I got my date- and current pricing so I didn't mind booking early) Who is your TA? Mine specializes in destination weddings so has been great and as much of a wedding assistant than just focused on travel. (She proofed my invites and website etc). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok girls- need some opinions!! I am going to incorporate a mariachi band at my wedding but not sure where to "put it" to get the best wow/fun factor. Options are 1) as soon as we kiss in our ceremony the mariachi band comes out and starts to play- and will be our recessional in essence as we lead our guests to the back of the sky deck and commence the cocktail reception taking place on the deck immediately following the ceremony. They would play for 45 minutes and then leave- and I would use iPod for remaining hour of the cocktail hour. 2) at our reception. They could be our entrance to the reception introducing us... They would be walking out along the path and we would follow- as a surprise to our guests (reception at zavaz plaza). They could then play for the first 45 minutes of the reception on the dance floor and I would delay having the DJ start until 7pm 3) have them close down our reception... As a bit of an "hora loca" and would be the last part of our reception. 4) don't use them the day of the wedding at all- but use them at our welcome s'mores party the night of arrival. (Though not all of our guests may be there to attend this) Any and All feedback would be great guys!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you are working with a GI certified TA, there are different perks. One of the incentives is for a free cocktail reception, all the way up to free limited private events based on the number of rooms/nights you book in your wedding group block. You should talk to your TA about this and ensure it is also open to you. Im not sure if you are eligible if not working with a GI certified TA though.

If your cocktail hour is directly following your ceremony- you will likely take 1/2 hr minimum to get out of there and escape for pictures. people will want to hug and congratulate you... and it will take a while to make your escape, so 2 hrs may be a better option. (nothing's stopping people from leaving quickly to go back to their room after 1 drink and freshen up- but it allows something in case others choose to want to mingle with other guests before reception. As for the website- you could say "Cocktails- location TBD (If you dont get the free event, you can designate a public bar for your guests to meet up at and change the wording on the website to casual cocktails).... in the Itinerary section of our website, we simply said "Check back for details on our special day and a schedule of events. For now, please note that most guests (Including ourselves) will be arriving to Mexico on _____, ______ 20__. and departing Thursday_______,________ 20__. When we have all our RSVPs back and we are closer to the wedding date, I will be reminding people to check the website for details of the week's festivities.

In addition to what TAkathy said (which is totally true), many hotels offer incentives like free events or perks for weddings with large number of guests. You can still have some nice events taking advantage of these perks (consider this when choosing resort), and being smart. (Save money from hosting a private cocktail hour before dinner by designating a location on your AI resort for your guests to mingle at (for free) while you are getting photos done... Don't extend your reception for extra time ($$) and move to an onsite disco to keep reception going after your allotted time etc. Don't worry- if you have more guests (which will be awesome but until they BOOK that can change), and plan a more relaxed/less expensive series of activities/events. Hmmmm that's not the same gazebo that is over at Sensatori, so good thing you checked! It must be azul beach and el dorado that have the same as the sky deck at sensatori. A "bolt" is how fabric is sold before cutting off and measuring lengths. It's basically a standard amount of fabric that is wrapped around a cardboard centre. When buying large quantity of cloth it's often cheaper to buy one large piece (the entire bolt) than cut the fabric. The WC will measure and cut it there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Originally I was going to just designate a public bar for my guests to hang out and have a few beverages while we got our pictures done- but with the free private events, we decided to have a hosted private cocktail reception for them to enjoy. We will stay for one drink and then head out for pictures while our guests stay and relax. It will allow us to have an hour or so before the reception. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ahhhhhh then totally call her on it. Simply reply (including the original document) to her email and point out that the price quoted in the kit information she provided is not the price shown on your detail sheet and they should totally change it! If she just came up with the new price with no explanation, that's totally not cool! She doesn't realize that we are all wise to the pending increase! She would have needed to warn you with a new banquet kit I would think! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Please don't ask if the price has increased!!! The price on whatever information the provide at the time, is what many brides are trying to get. If you were sent the new pricing from your WC (and you didn't previously receive something cheaper quotes to you) then it's likely the new price. Unless you are actually quoted a price I don't think you can push to have it honoured. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The wedding industry regardless of where you are- is notorious for gauging on pricing. I thought it would be better in Mexico and at an AI, but nope... It's a big business! Thankfully I don't mind doing an bit of DIY and research to save money where I can- and spending money where I feel it will make an impact. This is my second chance at marriage and the costs last time around for a "city wedding" was absurd... So I'm actually kind of relieved we have some options to bring our own decor etc. When going so far away this time! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Your additional costs for private events would be decor and entertainment if you had any. But the service, basic tables set up, food and drink (4hrs) are included. But for the actual event, they are charged per person. Good rule of thumb is kids prices are 50% of the rate you see in the kit if they want a smaller portion of the dish. The menus in the banquet kit are ALL private events... If you do a semi private it's a different selection and is $25/pp Those all come I with an international bar as shown on the bottom of each page. The list of what's in that bar is in one of the last pages of the banquet kit. If you qualify for a free dinner at spoons. First 40 are free and then remaining are $25/pp for adults. If you opt for a private reception you have a large number of different options and price points. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
